Why is it that in every game that give you an option to play as female, the "Male" character is ALWAYS considered the Default?

Female characters are considered optional, often an alternate box art from behind rather than the default.
Trailers always see to have the male option as the default.

As a male heterosexual, I dunno about you, but I like looking at a female character when I play video games.

Why the fuck would I play as a Male and see a man's junk during character customization like in CyberPunk 2077, at least when I play as a female character at least there is some eye candy to look at.

Sex sells, we need more attractive women on covers.

didn't the mass effect games have 2 cover versions one with male Shepard and one with female Shepard?

the answer is, it sells better according to target group studies... which I'm kinda doubting nowadays seen as most Mobile games nowadays have female characters in the forefront to attract people, and they should know what's selling as those games are designed for the sole purpose of generating MTX money from as many people as possible and their thumbnails are designed to lure you in

That's not true anymore. The games on the OP are all old besides Cyberpunk. In recent games the default is female or POC and they don't even include male or female. It's A, B or Type 1 and 2.

The vast majority of AAA games are played by males no matter what ERA told you.

I'm a grown man, i love gaming and i love playing as a female character. For some games, it looks so much better seeing my character as female and spend my time staring at her.

Why on earth did you choose photos TWO generations old and then end it with TWO pictures of Byleth, an effeminate Nintendo icon as an example of overt masculinity? Your argument is that you are, apparently, outraged by all the straight male characters?

Still the entire promotional material uses almost exclusively the female characters option

I didn't even knew that i could play as a man in Ass. Creed Odyssey and ME: Andromeda until the day that i bought the games.

Because of roleplaying and power fantasy and there are less women gaming. Sure, sex sells but for that to work you need to add sex appeal to the character and that draw in too much noise on social media today. It’s easier to just go with a male character and call it a day.

No, if you've seen my past threads I advocate for furries and girls with pretty faces.
