[Crowbcat] overpromise, sell, underdeliver Cyberpunk 2077

I think you can't judge a game based on what's not there. If it's not there then it's not there and it isn't a factor. Would everyone suddenly hate Shadow of the Colossus if they found out that there were ten more boss fights that got cut just before release?

Then cdpr shouldn't have been doing promotional bullshit sizzle videos filled with stuff and going into great detail about how amazingly immersive the world is and it how it will play out with your choices and the huge amount of interaction when a lot of it didn't make it to the released game it should be clearly stated instead that the stuff is just for building hype.

They should have said "yes the police and inhabitants will have incredible AI and react realistically to your actions but only in this promo video, in the full game they will act like like they have the IQ of a tree".

LMAAAO, that ending..

The more I see these kind of videos, the more I'm convinced they chopped off the entire world, mechanics, AI, and features in order to make the game run on consoles; but they still undelivered on almost all fronts due to the lack of time, clearly.

If they had decided to cancel the console versions all along, back then when they were just still under production, and had made it exclusive for just PC platforms till the new consoles had settled right into the generation; I feel we'd have gotten a completely different game by now, worthy of the hype that's been built since the 2012 reveal.

I traded Cyberpunk in and from the money i got back i bought

- Trails of Cold Steel 1
- Planet Rollercoaster

Best descision of my life

Trade in means you lost money?

They were offering refunds for physical. Don’t think they even want the game back because it’ll cost them money to pay for the shipping.

This gon be gud.

YongYea is one of the biggest youtube shills to exist. Guy has no backbone whatsoever.
Couldn't disagree more. He's pretty down to earth and level-headed. His part in this is undeniable, and you can never trust a guy on YouTube who sells his "merch". And yet all things considered, he's definitely above the majority of youtube creators in terms of open mindness and fairness.
In this case I would definitely consider his part in this as pure and simple genuine hype for the product.

Okay, that video was incredible.

It's wild because on PC I didn't experience a great deal of those bugs at all. Nothing game breaking either. Just some dumb minor visual things. I enjoyed the game enough to see it through. Though at the end I felt like I was rushing it.

But man, throughout the entire game it was sad how standard open-world mechanics were just completely absent. Even worse, that 10+ year old games did a lot of things better. I'm so glad Crowbcat focused on that.

The experience as a whole, was so damn shallow. I was hyped before release, but at the same time I felt reserved. Because after everything the game went through, there was no way it was going to release to nothing but 90-100 across the board.

I honestly just feel like CDPR really just bit off more than they could chew across the board. Sometimes I feel bad for them, at least for the employees that we haven't heard from that worked as hard as they possibly could to make a video game they were proud of.

As someone that's worked as a community manager for several years, I have no pity for the other employees that fibbed or lied about game content, etc. Especially in interviews. They did it SO often too. I understand wanting to be transparent with your fan base, but don't say/agree to things that aren't set in stone. They will come back to bite you in the ass.

That ending. Perfect.

Same here. My experience on PC was great. I could even play it on low end hardware using GeForce Now with no additional cost and it was terrific. It's too bad the other versions were so subpar.

Man that video was brutal, Crowbcat straight up murdered the developers. I just hope with enough time CDPR fixes everything and even adds many of the cut features and content back to the game. Even if I have to wait till 2022, I refuse to play the game now. I want the full perfect experience for my first playthrough and clearly the game is not there yet.

are in a big trouble
I kept saying he would return for this only to be told everyone's doing it now so he won't.

I'm fucking so glad he did

Linus and GN talk about this a lot, there is a very unhealthy and unprofessional relationship between game makers/hardware manufacturers and reviewers on youtube at the moment. People like SkillUp waiting to release their review until they could show bugs and use their own footage showed a lot of integrity.
I know, the thing is that youngyea built his channel acting like he cared about that kind of issue.

Upper echelon gamer will now talk about the problems,.but he stands by his score, and still acts like the PC version was somehow in an acceptable state.

Thanks for the heads up on the video release. I was thinking that Crowbcat had stopped with videos since it feels like its has been a year or more without one.

Got to get around to the game at some point since I picked it up on the PC too but I must admit I've gotten scared off. Seeing people here and a few friends mention it is playable has me planning to play after a few other games and that might give them a bit of time to tighten up some of the issues shown in here.

You're still just taking about extraneous stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the actual game. And the game is immersive and has choices and shit. And I can't remember them specifically hyping up the a.i for the cops. Even that doesn't really matter. It only becomes really noticeable when you go on a stupid GTA rampage and gun down a load of NPCs for no reason. It doesn't have anything to do with the story.

This has to be the worst case of broken promises and bug ridden releases ever. I have been gaming for almost 30 years now and never have I seen anything like this. Big Rigs is like citizen kane compared to this. At least those devs didn't lie to our faces for years.

I dont usually care for crowbcat videos, but I am glad this one exists. This isn't a case of launching a game in an incomplete state like AC Unity or Mass Effect Andromeda. The game is not even half done. Entire areas are missing. Dozens are promised features are missing. Entire A.I routines are missing. Cops, NPCs, vehicles, and well any other form of A.I is simply not responding the way they should.

The fact that the CEO is also the game director just proves that the devs are just as responsible. This is on this mother fucker who needs to be fired asap. The fact that he is still lying and saying that their testing did not show issues on consoles just shows how disgraceful this piece of shit really is. I saw leaked footage of the game back in November that looked just like the final version. There is no way they didn't know.

The montage of the advertising campaign is the main reason we are in this mess. They spent probably over a $100 million marketing this game, and they had to make that date. Delaying it would've meant millions wasted. It is the classic case of corporate greed. Something one would expect from EA or Goldman Sachs.

I cannot stress enough how utterly unacceptable this all is. And again, I am not just talking about the bugs either. Everything about this game reeks of corruption.
The bold is point. Dude still lying through his teeth. STFU. Jesus Christ!

Is this game the next generation No Man's Sky?

Also, is this going to be improved at the same level as No Man's Sky over the years?
