DF - Days Gone on PS5 - Super Smooth at 60FPS - But Can It Survive The Horde?

I'm not impressed with these fps unlocks.

I had really hoped for actual ps5 patches as I want 4k 60fps not 1440p CB 60fps or seemingly less fps.
If you patch into an official PS5 version, then you need to pay Sony for an official PS5 SKU.

If you patch the PS4 version to "see" PS5 hardware and unlock framerate, then it's free and a nod to the fans.

The patch they released for free is all that we can expect, and we should be thankful that they did this at all.
Look at FF7, God of War or TloU2. Especially GoW shouldn‘t take any work at all to patch and yet we are waiting.

Well, i guess since there is nothing else for DF to do i guess go look at a 2 yr old game (which i liked a lot), but seriously?

The obtusity of Richard is something else. It's not because ps5 can't handle it at higher resolution or better graphic setting at stable 60 FPS. You can't push higher resolution or whatelse with hardware BC mode, it's not virtual coded as series X. Developers on ps5 can solely unlock FPS in BC otherwise you need to create a dedicated patch which probably requires a notable job and investment.

Why do you people invent the things? PS5 have games with higher resolution than Pro with BC. It’s the 120hz thing they can’t because the original didn’t have support for that mode

Got platinum on PS5 yesterday. Absolutely brilliant and great looking game. There is some texture pop in (foliage etc) that could've been fixed with a proper next-gen upgrade but other than that the game looks phenomenal on PS5.

Just finished it on PS5. What a gem of a game! I really hope they are doing a sequel!

J jaysius what is so funny? Does it hurt when someone praises anything Playstation related?
The laughing emote is often interchangeable with crying. Hence the tears on the face. Rule of thumb if the laugh emote doesn’t apply/make sense then it means they’re crying.

Biggest hide is 300 not 500 ?

You mean horde?

300 is the limit of the horde on challenge mode, but inside the singleplayer you can force multiple hordes encounters, reaching 500 freakers.

Even so, the challenge have more barels, woods for physics. Richard want everything to push the engine bottleneck.

The horde at the sawmill has 500 freakers.

Says within the first minute that the game received an upgrade for the PS5... 👀👀👀
It's a patch to unlock the framerate and use PS4 Pro quality mode. How is that an upgrade? Sometimes I wonder about some people and the agenda they are trying to push?

Actually it got an update, but absolutely this is not the PS5 version, of course not a real upgrade, and it doesn't take advantage of all PS5 resources, very very far from...

As I said, I can't wait for the sequel on PS5 :messenger_winking:
So what was the update? Unlocking framerate and using PS4 Pro quality mode

When you boot up up your copy of the game on PS5, you’ll get up to 60FPS with dynamic 4K resolutions, as well as your save files transferring from PS4. So if you’re halfway through the game now, you’ll be able to carry on your progress on PS5 without any interruption.

This isn’t a full-on Days Gone remaster, but it should be a fairly big upgrade for the game. The frame rate is generally good on PS4, so going up to 60FPs should feel much smoother. Though it’s worth mentioning that Bend Studio says “up to” 60FPS, which indicates it won’t be a locked refresh rate and that it will be variable. It’s the same with the 4K support – it’s dynamic, so it could hit native 4K sometimes, but it will fluctuate depending on the needs of the game engine. Still, it’s a free update,""

I'm at the last section of the singleplayer. Didn't know this game had such a huge singleplayer...over 80 hours.

Still one of the best games i played from previous generation and it plays gorgeous on the PS5. I can't wait for Days Gone 2 with co-op mode and maybe more survival gameplay.

Hordes are underused in the story but I'm fairly sure the ones you do have to beat are the biggest.

I wish God of War was updated like this. its 60fps on 1080p only. Unless you own physical and play the non fixed version.

Looks good, shame that the gameplay isnt that great, compared to other zombie games it falls flat compared to stuff like Dying Light, Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising and Last of Us that just outdo it
