Tbh the RT is this game is not worth it, I'm not impressed and what I've played so far it doesn't add to the immersion while playing the game 60fps is the way to go.

I’m just noticing them more on the forums turning everything into a war more than the xbox people - granted I’ve only paid attention for like the past 4 months but they are definitely more prevalent and stuck firmly on one side. I assume this is because there is just a lot more of them but you’d have to be blind not to see it. The Xbox ones can be just as bad but there are way fewer raging fanboys from what I’ve seen here.

I remember when x360 was the lead of the market, it was exactly the same. There was always an excuse to troll about the npd results , the worst multiplat on PS3 and so on. Now Sony has a wider userbase, they are more and did the same. Are you people new of VG forum?

I don't know if you are serious but I can't avoid to remind people as Tom Warren or Albert Pennello via Twitter or on Resetera and their comments about the ps5 hardware and the thousands of absurdity they posted always related to the console war. The Xbox community is full of such persons. And such personalities are supposed to be the more serious because professional. Now how MS fanboys can be better with such models? Genuine question.

One is a open world game , the other is a linear game. Controls RT might be higher resolution, it's certainly not as impressive though.

As someone who games on both Sony and MS, I can honestly say Sony fans are worst. I only gamed on PS4 last gen and I noticed it.
You only have to look at the ridiculous posts on the hitman thread. That's not even getting into the 'another one' posts because xbox drops a frame here and there. If MS 'wins' on resoloution, FPS are more important. If MS wins on Graphic settings like Lighting, Shadow, textures.... Then resoloution is more important.
I hate fanboys on both sides but let's not pretend they are both equal in output.

Please we can't stop with this stupid argument? A month ago AC Valhalla was better smoother for the other side but 1080p dynamic drops wasnt a big issue; in Hitman 3 1800p suddenly was perceivable to everyone. A fucking site who claimed native resolution counts nothing for months, smoother fps above everything, suddenly claimed "ah it's an huge upgrade, the port Xbox fan waiting for, smoother FPS nah we can live with some drops with 4k native"

If I said I'm switching from xbox one to PS5 I'd get a load of congrats comments here on gaf. Nothing noteworthy though.
When I said on this forum I'm going for a series X first because gamepass seems like such a steal..... I received a load of comments about how I've created a fake neogaf account to try and get people to switch to MS.... As there's no possible way people are switching.
I don't think both sides are equal in their crazy. Don't understand why people can't just enjoy the game. Enjoy posting all day about the extra 1fps, secret cerny sauce, anotherone.gif....instead of actually playing and enjoying games.
Anyway, is the update included in the gamepass version?

I don't think so. I'm very accustomed to 30 when I never even upgraded my OG ps4 to the pro lol. It really is just motion blur you can't disable. Maybe someone else playing wants to chime in? But I think its just some weird shit they will maybe fix at some point

Its your eyes that got used to 60fps. Going back to 30fps take time for the eyes to adjust. I felt the same thing playing at 30fps with RT, almost to the point of starting to feel motion sickness. Then after 1 hour of gameplay at 30fps i was already playing fine and not noticing any problems in moving the camera around.
Anyone that wants to play this game with RT on, cant just be switching 60fps on and off, your eyes will struggle to adjust to 30fps every time.

So looking at footage the XSX seems to be struggling more than PS5 in scenes with heavy alpha. Which appears to be a trend, probably due to higher pixel fill rate . Still mostly solid performance from both, though I don't think I fancy losing the smoothness and responsiveness of 60fps just for the RT in this title, as the combat is so fast paced. I suspect ill just be turning it on for screenshots, at least it doesn't require a restart to turn it on/off.

Idk man. I played some of Spiderman remastered on 30fps when I got the PS5 and turning did not cause blurriness at all. I mean, its literal motion blur when you're turning in Control. But whatever, not dealing w that shit

I slowly doubt that it is the missing tools that gives PS5 so often the advantage. There was some talk a while ago that Microsoft is investigating why the PS5 outperforms the XBOX sometimes. If it would be the missing tools or the delayed delivery of such tools, it should be clear for Microsoft and an investigation would not be required. I honestly think that Microsoft just looked at the numbers when building their system, while Sony not chosen the strongest parts, but focused more that every single part is running in harmony with each other. It’s like when building a PC, just putting blindly the strongest parts on paper in your system does not guarantee you the best performance.

Yeah. MS is no doubt getting better at hardware but if you think about it they rarely outperform their competitors in simultaneous launches. They usually come in a bit later when they’re better. Xbox One X was better than Pro because it came a year later. Xbox had the same advantage over PS2. Xbox 360 is the exception but I’d say it was because crazy Ken had an idea that didn’t work out.
Considering they have no games ready I think they should’ve launched Series X in late 2021 or early 2022 instead, with better hardware. It’s no doubt the worst launch and launch window I’ve ever experienced. And the tools excuse is a meme at this point.
That said, I’m disappointed at both consoles regarding performance. AMD is completely ruining the raytracing capabilities from the look of it. I bet it’ll be no or low RT at 60fps or low or medium RT at 30fps throughout this whole gen.

This is an odd take. The X1 and X Series are the only consoles that came out at the same time as PlayStations. X360 as you noted performed better and the original Xbox and X1X also performed better. This gen is largely a wash with Hitman 3 being the only title that has a significant advantage on one console and it was not the PS5. Meaning the X1 was the only console that consistently performed worse than the PS4 and that wasn't much of a game console but some sort of media concoction.
Pretty sure the differences in this game will be minimal but a 59.75 vs 58.5 fps advantage is obviously a clear win for the PS5 and I won't take away from it. Congrats Sony.
