If you had to pick one thing Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo did right (or currently doing right) and one thing they did wrong (or doing wrong) what would it be? From my point of view (my "opinion" everyone)
Sony
Right - Exclusives. Its what Sony does best (apart from making great consoles). You cant deny that Sony's exclusives have had a massive impact on the gaming scene. Its meant that MS have really had to up their game. Sony have set standards so high from technical and theatrical (story included) point of view. Its only good for the gamers and should be embraced!
Wrong - When you consider the "We beleive in Next Gen" gate I was actually going to mention Sony's marketing/PR but didn't want to repeat myself (see Micrsoft). So i'll focus on PS Now. I really like PS Now for PC, i think its time Sony spent more time improving it (such as higher res) and marketing it better. It find a little strange that Sony aren't trying to sell it more? It could compete with GamePass. I'm not suggesting a future of streaming only... i'm just saying i like the option.
Microsoft
Right - Investment, GamePass is great but in order for it to continue to be great it needs AA/AAA games. Microsoft Game Studio's growing number of developers is an encouraging sign that this will become reality. Granted we have a year or two before we see the fruits of theirmoney labour but at least they have something in the pipeline as opposed to the lacklustre of exclusives last gen.
Wrong - MS's marketing/PR suck's. The whole Live Gold and Halo Infinite debacle only highlights that truth. Its almost embarrassing at times. We just want the truth and our hopes in check. No need to over state the fact and sugar coat. Gamers are not (generally) stupid. Surely MS's PR cant be stupid enough not to predict the Live Gold Backlash?! Beggars belieft.
Nintendo
Right - Innovative, whether you consider historical consoles a success or failure you have to admire Nintendo's approach at bringing innovation into consoles. The concept of the Switch being a home console and portable is brilliant. Sure we would like higher res better performance, thats why we Xbox and PS, Nintendo does not need to follow the same trend and they havent. And thats just brilliant.
Wrong - Nintendo's pricing on old(er) games. Damn they are expensive. Zelda still is £59.99! That game was released 4 years ago?
