Recently in an interview with IGN EA’s chief studios’ officer Laura Miele said, “Apex takes place in the Titanfall world, and the Respawn team is incredibly proud of that legacy and brand; that team will determine what the future holds for Apex and Titanfall. I don’t believe in directing or telling game teams what to create; it has to come from the player community and the inspiration and motivation of developers.”

Respawn chose that release date themselves. How long is this stupid bullshit gonna be dropped.
The date was chosen a long time prior to release and then EA put Battlefield up against it. Once the date was locked there was no changing it according to Respawn. They may have chosen the original date but I'd say they tried to get it moved when they copped what they were going against.

Uhh yes? That’s exactly what we want businesses to do right? Let them make their own choice even with tough economic realities? We’re always saying that risky games would play off if people took the risk.

No one ever truly has freedom under a publisher. This is just PR talk. They have "creative freedom" to pitch it but not actually make it. Everything needs to pass EA's review phase.

The freedom... like how they got fucked over having to release TF2 v COD and Battlefield. Respawn would get the Old Yeller treatment if it pushed for it... like the rest of their non sports studios.
That's bullshit

Also, Titanfall 2 still has a legacy with people nowadays, while the CoD and BF at that time got to dust a year later

I played the Titanfall 2 SP for the first time a couple months back and it was ace fun, getting the helmets added a bit of replayability as well. Graphics were ace beans and some of the weapons were really unique and fun, felt like old school shooters days, like Turok 2, where there was variety in the weapon types.

Sure why not?

Titanfall is good fun even though I never truly became adept at using verticality in the way good players do in that game. Just kept sticking to my old-school ways and as a result I kept getting my ass stomped.

Well 🤔

If it’s more of a return to TF1 I would be well up for that. I felt the change in focus to mainly ground combat rather than the Titans wasn’t a good choice in TF2.

The traversal mechanics in TF were fantastic, being able to wall run and zip line across the map and drop onto a Titan was mint. The shooting mechanics were par for the course at the time not amazing but just about fun enough to keep you engaged.

Prehaps a cross over between Apex and TF would be welcomed kinda like what Acti did with Warzone and CoD.

That's easy for EA to say when they see how much money Apex makes in comparison to Titanfall. "If you want to shoot yourself in the head, go for it, we have plenty of other studios that can take over Apex after your demise."

Thats fine if EA didnt have a history of permanently shuttering studios after taking just 1 risk which didnt work out.

I slept on Titanfall 2 for years. Picked it up at a store for 5 bucks and it turned out to be one of the best FPS campaigns I've played.
I was hoping the multiplayer was good, actually, I knew it in my mind it would be. Turns out TF1 is way better in that regard. It was actually about the Titans. TF2 had a way less of a focus on it.

I should give the single player a go though. A lot say its great.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Games like Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six (one of the most played games on Steam today) and TF2 proved you can be an alternative to COD or Battlefield.

This could be true. You can technically never tell people what to create even if you say no to most of their ideas.

I think a Titanfall 3 could work where it works as a prequel to Apex Legends basically

Like an all out corpo war I dunno whatever the Apex lore is

Overrated compared to which other FPS campaigns exactly 😂
I found the TF2 campaign to be rather dull in comparison to FPS campaigns in franchises like Half-Life, Doom, Bungie's Halo games, Wolfenstein. I'll even count Metroid Prime.
There have been other standouts, but for me, Titanfall 2 wasn't one of them. I didn't understand the praise, but far be it for me to piss on anyone's parade.

titanfall 1 was amazing. titanfall 2 was a COD clone. bring back titanfall 1 style gameplay or just keep making apex.
