basically after update 30 you can earn a new ingame currency which lets you unlock crown crate items that previously where only available through lootboxes

Would really like this as I plan on playing a bunch once the ps5 patch comes out.

Noice! Although it should be considered that Fallout 76 started doing something like this as well a while ago. The Atomic Shop isn't nearly as intrusive as it's original version. You even get free stuff very often.

So maybe this is Bethesda trying to win back it's good name.

Todd Howard basically said they pursued Fallout 76 and TES Online because they had to adapt and seek out new ways of earning consistent revenue, but now with Xbox the can just focus on making the games that they want. Obviously take it with a pinch of salt.

I was just playing man eater and thinking how novel it was that i had to unlock the skins by actually playing the game, then i fucking remembered that up until 8 years ago that thats the way it used to be. 15 dollar fucking costumes in avengers, go fuck yourself square

i think you misunderstood my thread. its the other way around.
My mistake. I'm seeing red right now because I just contacted them and they told me a repair was free for a known hardware defect and then told me 460 dollars to repair and then a manager told me 650 dollars to repair so I'm a bit pissed off about how they are handling a repair on a known issue that is affecting the Surface Laptop 3.

Very cool if that is their intention. Couldn't support the notion more. Question is though, how grindy is it to still get those lootbox items without spending IRL money? Thing is, most companies skirt the issue by saying 'all things are attainable without spending real world cash,' but neglect to say it would take you 5000 game hours to acquire some item.'
