Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Judgment, remastered with 60fps and HD textures on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, & Stadia launching on April 23rd, 2021! If you’re not familiar, Judgment is a Yakuza-style mystery thriller that weaves elements of detective sleuthing, noir narrative, and action combat starring private eye Takayuki Yagami who defends the law fails to protect.

Judgment Running at 4K 60FPS on PS5

Here Is Judgment Remastered (PS5) 4K 60FPS Gameplay

There is no free upgrade as it is a remastered version on PS5.

PS: Special Thanks to Sega for providing an Early Review code.

The assets don't look any different from memory so it feels a bit predatory to be a totally separate release but just the resolution boost and frame rate boost alone means I will end up double dipping. The performance was shocking on base PS4 and the screen looked like it was smeared in Vaseline.

Tell me it's a joke or Australian price or something.

I have original game, and, yeah, this is not worth 40$. They should have made upgrade path for those who have original, something like 10$ and i'm in.

Wait, if I have the PS4 version I cannot upgrade to this in any way? Just have to pay full price for 60fps? Absolute bullshit.

Yes , As they said it is Remastered Version
They added no new content to the game, just took advantage of something that would almost be automatically done by removing the 30fps cap. Asking me to pay $40 for that is absolutely laughable. No other developer has asked me to pay $40 for a simple patch removing an fps cap.

No I didn't like Yakuza: Like a Dragon because it was a fucking turn-based, rail-chasing BS game. Give me this beat em up!

They did mess with the minigames. changed out puyo puyo for VF2 and took out pinball for Outrun.

Messing with content, worse textures, and the new color grading is enough to turn me off of it. i can just buy the dlc instead of double dipping. I dont know why this studio is so committed to fucking up all their remasters.

What time is it?
It's a wonderful game but this is a deep discount sale item for me. I don't mind paying a minimal upgrade fee but not offering a path is kind of crummy.

Too bad the mini games are preventing a cross-save feature from happening, otherwise I was ready to buy a copy. I'll have to go back to the PS4 playthrough it seems.

Not providing a free upgrade? Full price? I thought it would be EA or Activision to be the first to try it. To my surprise it's Sega.

Also why get rid of the bokeh in all scenes just to show off textures? Bokeh(the background blurred out) has a cinematic purpose to it and to strip it all away is a very odd decision.

Map size.(Yokohama is 3 times bigger)
With all respect, map size barely has something to do with framebuffer resolution :pie_confused: next generation has the double of RAM and better I/O, game size it's no more an excusable limiting factor (neither was on the previous to be fair from what I know, limited resolution was more tied to CPU bottlenecks using the same GPU to cover the performance gap caused by it).

I don't know then.

Genuinely curious what the last Yakuza has of more demanding compared this game to run at 1440p?
Well, for one thing, this game doesn't run at 4K. Haven't seen any pixel counts, but I'll be surprised if it actually runs at anything more than 1440p.
