I always read people saying this, and I actually do sort of agree... but there have been multiple high level GTS players who have gone on to race real cars, and win real races - despite it not being the most realistic game.

I don't know if it just because it is the most popular and therefore just by the probabilities it happens that way, but it is kind of interesting. Racing games might be the single video game that actually does prepare you to participate in the real sport it is based on.

iRacing is probably the best option but its community is very small compared with GTS. The viewership on TVs are lower too.

GTS is basically the only option with enough audience.

The same way not everyone can be a chess world champion. Sports are not always about muscles, you know?

2. GTS has a huge online community

If they´re as intense as some of the GTS races on the green hell events, sure why not. But they´re only really watchable because of the Italian duo commentating. Who does not want to see Hazal vs Fraga in the Olympics?

Only GT3, GT4 classes though please! No more Red Bull, Vacuum cleaner Races.

Gt Sport is casual sim not hardcore but still has laser scanned tracks and decent physics. Not as refined as acc but at least you don't have to be both driver and engineer at the same time with proper setups configuration. Some mentions iracing here when many real drivers criticized its icy tyre model as being far from realistic. Also gts replays looks great and its very accessible so imho good choice.

As a GT Sport player with 1000 online races, ~165 wins and A/S rating this makes me happy and proud. Proud that no other franchise was chosen for this (especially Forward! in Italian), even those that may be more realistic and what not. GT Sport is realistic enough for me and Lewis Hamilton as they are his official sponsor (on ).

GT Sport tournaments are really nice to watch. The production values of the comentators, camera setups, the game replays and very high skill level of the drivers, make it more enjoyable to watch for me than real racing.

Igor Fraga, one of the drivers that has won a good amount of GT Sport tournaments also races in real life.
