Despite strong sales, Days Gone Steam numbers half those of Horizon Zero Dawn

To many sony fanboys, its the worst of sony exclusives. Pc sales have legs down the road, itll sell more and more and continue selling. Bloodborne is a whole new beast, that ahit will sell a million in 24hrs guaranteed
sry no games far better then you know but im betting you never played it so who cares

Releasing games on PC is a waste of time and resources.

Insignificant market rampant with piracy.

Guarantee you more people are playing this pirated than actually buying it.

Sony should have atleast put denuvo on their games especially considering they are single player experiences.

Both games are at a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Days Gone has maintained Very Positive with 90%+ the entire time since release. HZD was Mostly Positive for a while, but is now in the Very Positive range.

For me Horizon and Days Gone are the worst Sony exclusives in recent memory, I couldn't finish either of them. That said, Days Gone actually held my interest longer and I think it's probably the better game.

Couldn't care less.

I'm not losing anything.

Just expressed an opinion.

Sony games mostly being single player experiences and without DRM are asking to be played for free pirated.

Sony's loss.

Seriously? The best selling PC titles by far (Witcher and Cyberpunk) doesn't have ANY DRM implemented at all. Witcher 3 is selling like crazy to this very day. They even have a healthy PC store based on "Fuck DRM".

We're not living in 2001 anymore.

People are disappointed that PlayStation games with mixed reviews on consoles isn't exactly flying of the shelves on PC after being released years ago. Both games sold well on PC, despite Days Gone selling half as much. Days Gone didn't even sell good enough on PlayStation to warrant a sequal.

Horizon generated more buzz at launch, sold better at launch and had better reviews.
Seems to be expected for it to sell more than Days Gone. Not to mention it's cool mech dinos vs zombie game Nr.8557

People need to keep realistic expectations with these releases. A late port of a 2 years old game with average reviews isn't going to destroy the sales charts.

Sure, that's why we're seeing more and more studios like Sony, Square and even Sega releasing their stuff on PC.
They are all bad at business and like to waste time and resources out of spite towards their shareholders.

People forget but H:ZD launched in a dry period last year, so it had an easier time. Comparatively DG had to go up against some very popular releases like ME:LE & Biomutant all within the same timeframe.

For me DG is by far the better game, and I think over time it will have stronger legs on PC comparatively.

Are these PC ports even worth it for Sony? From what I remember, Horizon hardly sold gangbusters.
For the most part it is. Sure they don't make the same amount of money they make as the launch of the game but they will make back the money for the port fairly quickly and the rest of the sales are just extra money in the bank for Sony. Personally I'd rather have the work on porting older games to playstation instead.

Horizon had sold 2-5mil week ago, on Steam alone. I bet taking into account all launchers, Horizon is probably around 5mil by now.
Days Gone may not end up that high, but its probably going to reach 2mil at least, accross all launchers.
These are old games, selling in the millions, all for the cost of a port.

People are dreaming if they think these numbers wont match, or even exceed Sony's expectations for these ports.

I’m sure Horizon more than doubled Days Gone in PS4 sales, so in that lens Days Gone selling about half of Horizon on PC is beating expectations.

Horizon Zero Dawn was a bad port and Days Gone is a great one.

I really have to start there, regardless of sales.

I enjoyed HZD but Im liking Days Gone more too, up until now.

May sales pick up. The PC market is a long run not a marathon, contrary to the console space.

The game is over 2 years old and didn't review as well or garner as much attention as HZD so obviously it wont sell as well.

I am surprised some people bought this game in the first place

no ray tracing
No dlss
Was free on PlayStation plus

add 4k texture and ask the pc users full price when pc gaming in general is cheaper than consoles ( per game )

people bought this game with respect aren’t that smart . But the company asking for full price on this is just straight up crazy

Jim need to fucking go. Period

To expensive.
Old game
No new tech in it
Single player game
Generic theme
no hype around it
not even twitch cared
anti consumer sony keylogger software probably repelled a bunch of people from ever buying sony games on steam ever again.

In short.

Impressive it actually sold that much.

If sony wants to sell games, they should start to port those games far quicker towards PC and far more meaningful ip's. but then again i don't think sony has much ip's PC care about to start with as on the multiplayer department they are pretty much non existing.

I don't know what's more entertaining... if the games themselves or seeing Sony fanboys (like 95% of this forum) complaining about them releasing on PC. Looking forward for the next port. Hopefully its Bloodborne.

The real gist of it all, PC are def. over paying (only because it is 2 yrs old) but its a far superior, and i mean FARRRRRRR Superior in every way, than what I and the rest played on PS4 Pro. Only game I Platinumed on the Pro and probably last.

If they would have put a hot tub stream together it would have BLOWN UP!

Seriously, anyone using twitch or streamers as business stats are delusional.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
tbh, horizon has a huge popularity just like god of war, most games would lose to them in terms of sales.
