60 FPS is the bomb imo. So crisp when it comes to combat

wonder if part 2 will have a 60fps mode. If not it’s going to feel like a big downgrade getting use to 60 then dropping to 30

Data Disk or Play Disk?
Correct.

For anyone wanting to know, the free PS5 Upgrade once available in your region is listed in the ps store by itself under 'Free Ps5 Upgrade'. You can download as long as you have the play disc inserted or the digital version purchased.

If you made a huge mistake like me and added the PS Plus version to your library, even if you never downloaded it, it will not let you upgrade even though you have the disc whether it is inserted and or installed on the console. I had to log into another account I have for another region that doesn't have my PS Plus and then download from that store to get around it. (which is fucking stupid)

looks like the digital upgrade is live, I had to restart my PS5 after claiming it to get the download to work but it's going now, 81.339GB though so I'm gonna just go to bed & play in the morning o_o

edit: Episode Yuffie is live as well but labeled as the Chinese/Korean version? I'm gonna wait until the morning at least to buy this just in case

edit 2: don't forget to grab the item pack to get all the DLC items from the original pre-order & that candy campaign for free

No freaking way… I own the deluxe ps4 version but added the ps plus version to my library because it saves me from getting up and opening that big package full of stuff to play it.

You’re telling me the only way to play it now is to buy the entire game again for ps5??

Downloads moving a little slow tonight too, servers must be getting hammered. Downloading the update/dlc stuff now tho. Gonna just play in the morning lol

It let me download a couple days ago. I played for about 30 minutes. The new combat feels pretty good. I’m using performance mode.

Yeah that's what it looks like to me.. Typical anti consumer bullshit! I don't think people realised that means even if you own the physical game.

Make another account and sign in with that as it won't have your PS Plus associated to it, then insert the play disc and download from ps store that way. I'm not sure if it has to be different region, I'm in Australia and I just happen to already have a Singapore account so I just used that. Once the download starts you can just log back into your normal account.

Nope - never played it, had factory sealed copy that I’ve been waiting to use until the PS5 upgrade came.
I put data disc and still got free upgrade, does that mean every time I want to play PS5 version I have to put data disc instead of play disk?

I thought it will automatically download the upgrade, but when put the play disk it asked me for data disc. It seems you have to go on PSN to get free upgrade.

For anyone like me that downloaded the free ps+ so they didn't need to use the disc for a while, you can still insert your disc with that version installed and upgrade to Intergrade. It does not conflict with this version of the game.

Hasn't unlocked for me yet.

Sony really needs to streamline this stuff. I have the PS4 version. I have to view the product, then see I have a number of options available including "free PS5 upgrade" version, or whatever. Then I look over and see I have Intergrade, but it's not unlocked yet. Damn Sony, I have a PS5, what version do you think I want to play? So dumb, just deliver the best version available to players that they're entitled to.

Graphics mode is unplayable sadly. No motion blur on camera pans literally makes it a slideshow.

Didn't remember it being that bad on PS4 Pro but it seems similar after comparing. Probably feels worse when the res is higher on PS5.

I thought that first too, but browsing (searching for Final Fantasy 7 Remake) in the store on my PS5 i found a free upgrade finally. It was not available from the FF7 Remake Integrade Version but a separate item. You really can get confused easily.

I am now downloading the PS5 Version (had PS4 digital) and could buy the DLC (Episode Intermission) for 19,99 €(Germany).

But now i realized i had to download PS4 Version first and upload my savegame…

For whatever reason I had to restart my PS5 so the free upgrade was downloadable

It’s downloading now, will be done soon, thank you gigabit fios

Tested. I don't know, it seems more or less the same: PS4 models in PS3 scenarios, but now at 60fps. But it's free so I will not complain. I wish Naughty did this for Uncharted 4 or Guerrilla for Horizon ZD.

Graphics mode does look mighty nice, but it's ugly slow whenever the camera is moving horizontally. Too bad they couldn't get thoe graphics and 60 fps this gen. Damn shame. At least we'll have Sony first party studios for that.

Hmmm, when I switch versions a little lock icon shows up by the game and it’s not letting me play. What’s the deal? My disc is in the console.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
IS IT FUCKING OUT IN SWEDEN YET

This took me a while to figure out (Sony needs to do something about this)

Insert the disc in your PS5
Go on the Playstation Store and scroll down until you see FFVII Remake Intergrade, click on it
There should be a "free PS5 upgrade" that you can redeem if your disc is in the console. This will download that version of the game.

Edit: Now the real dumb shit is that you need to upload the game save from the PS4 game first to download it for the PS5 version. Sony, I pay for PS+ already, sort out this shit.

It didn't work like that for me.. I added ps plus version to my library and never ended up even downloading it but when I put my play disc in and went to free ps5 upgrade in store it would not let me and said cannot at this time. I logged in to my other account in another region which doesn't have plus and it downloaded to my console fine.

Ok, so I looked at this as well this morning and it is also shows a locked icon (unavailable) as well as the Yuffie episode. I also tried restoring licenses as suggested…. Nothing. This shouldnt be this complicated.

Fucking hell. I'm so glad I didn't activate the ps plus version as I just knew sonys bullshit system would do something like this. Looking forward to getting home tonight and installing this bad boy!

That's sucks, they should fix this. I don't have this issue even though I added the PS Plus version to my library. I'm downloading the upgrade version right now.

I wouldn’t think the data disc would matter at all since you’re doing a fresh install from the PS5 download. I never put the data disc in and was able to boot up the game with no issues. Did not actually start a new game however (had to go to bed), will report back if any issues tonight.

Interesting. But yeah I fully installed mine for convenience and then popped disc in when it came to the upgrade. Must have been something else I did, not sure. I guess when in doubt, delete the PS+ version (for anyone reading).

Yeah I was afraid i got screwed because I put the FF7R free psn+ in my library as a precaution, since I originally bought deluxe physical (I pretty much put everything free in my library, as a precaution). But seems to be working, downloading it now

So weird that you have to search for ‘’free ps5 upgrade’’ manually on the store

Ah, never thought of that. I have only digital games and it's not possible to add the game to PS Plus because it will complain I already own it. But having a disk I can see the problem.

Does anybody know if I get the Digital Deluxe Upgrade for $20 I get access to the PS5 upgrade? (mine is the PS Plus version)
