They have sectors, each sector is the size of an old bf map

You wont even play onthe entire map yourself each map, so each map is like 3-4 maps in 1......apparently
Is this confirmed info? I know about the sectors, but did we receive official info about size and number of sectors?

Look at the size of the map

Can see the larger sectors and the smaller ones, sort of, by the roads
Interesting, thanks. I don't know how much is six Km2 are compared to previous bf maps, but maybe some bf4 maps were already this large or more. Doesn't seem significantly bigger. Unless they mean a square with sides of 6 KMs. That would be quite big and significant in terms of space for vehicles on earth or on air.

Yes 6x6km

Warzone is 9x9km for comparison

Yeah cool for a CGI Trailer.. But if anyone thinks the actual gameplay is going to look anything like this is fooling themselves.

I don't know why they bother doing this dog and pony show bullshit... They think we are all stupid and naive.. Maybe we are!

I don't doubt it will be a looker but they should at least set realistic expectations!

I'm seriously hoping there is a game mode for helicopter dog fighting, that would be pretty awesome.

I don't think that's their intention. They will show a proper gameplay trailer in a matter of days, after all.

They just wanted to create some imaginary bf moments with a bit of pre-rendered painting on game assets.

The Battlefield 2042 reveal trailer only covered a fraction of what you should know. Here's everything we learned from our preview session with DICE including the release date, in-game gun customization, the new specialist class system, map breakdowns, new conquest mode, massive player count, and if there will or won’t be a battle-royale.

Game Pass about to do some work in a few days y'all. How can so much absolutely absurdly reckless value even be legal, moral and/or sustainable?

I have never seen a trailer where the trained soldiers react so stupidly and inauthentically to the things around them.

I also didn't like that 80% of the trailer is about the "events" on maps, which, as always, have almost no effect in the real game. But well, the 12-14 year old kiddos have certainly already wet panties.

Ok, but Battlefield isn't a single player game, its a multiplayer game, soooo they'd be showing how PLAYERS would be playing the game, as in jumping out of a jumbo jet at full speed and whipping out a rocket launcher and destroying a jet and then falling back in your jet mid flight isn't normal, but....this series has never been about that.

I mean shit, you are talking about a game with robot dogs and where people are getting revived back to 100% health from headshots by needles and running around right after like nothing happened, as in...this isn't a sim, this series has never been about that, so what you are talking about is irrelevant as the game is not aimed towards that. It would be like crying over how cars feel in Mario Kart. Make the crititsium make sense. If they are aiming for it, its fair game to judge what they produce, but don't go around literally fucking crying over shit the game wasn't made for. Its irrelevant. Its like rating a horror movie badly cause it didn't have enough romantic comedy in it or something. Its saying YOU want something, thus are claiming something is wrong with someone for not providing it, that never promised such a thing.

the "events" on maps, which, as always, have almost no effect in the real game.

I'd argue a tornado would have a massive effect considering what they are showing on the trailer, but we'd need to see their official gameplay demonstration and other videos before making that claim.

Not sure, maybe its just wording as remember, you can fucking say "destruction" is many, many things.

Maybe they mean the Levolution stuff, we'll have to see more or they'll have some demo talking about it or something. One of the reasons for them not to go back to 100% of what you saw from Bad Company series had more to do with design then tech, I recall someone from DICE stating something about them not wanting people fully leveling out a whole ass stage lol

While playing BFBC2 on PC, if I was playing rush and I was defending, I would literally fucking level the shit out of the stage next to the crates with C4 and other things and after a while, its so clear, its next to impossible to really complete the objective for the other side. Now keep in mind, I was ok with this as....shit I'm winning and its all about me lol

Then again, I fully understand why as a design they see how it might turn into a deep exploit. So I don't think its anything to do with tech as much as they don't want the whole level to be.....well leveled. I feel maybe it can work in certain situations, as the do have many destructible things in BFV, but they have a limit to that so that way the map is still sound and both teams have a fair shot.

They do. They ruin everything. It all started in KZ2 DLC maps with that train level and nuke explosion on Southern Hills, CTF and Assassination modes were literally unplayable on those maps. Same will be here, instead of fighting with actual players and focusing on objectives everyone will be running away from a tornado. It will be fun, a lot of fun, but only for the first few times, and then once everyone will get used to it and will want to focus on competitive gameplay, it'll become annoying as fuck. I'm personally absolutely against any random evens in MP games, it kills the competitiveness which is the sole reason you go online to play versus other people.

Looks good, I wonder how multiplayer is, everyone has their battle royal game now and while successful I think BF6 could do something else.

JackFrags said there are three modes. Main main is All Out warfare which has changing objectives in each round, conquest and operations/breakthrough.

There is another squad focused mode they haven't revealed but they said it's not battleroyale.

The third mode is a secret mode created by LA DICE which is supposedly a love letter to Battlefield fans. (Rush? Some original conquest mode?)

There is no battle royale.

Hazard i reckon is going to be a tarkov style mode, but with 4-5 player squads, all against eachother, collecting resources, and get out/evac. Theyll be large scale weather hazards that houses the best loot, risk/reward. Or it would be like in pubg with hazard zones that change, twisters touching down randomly etc. This would be sort of like a BR, but not (like they said) since you can evac at any point. The whole narrative of the game is survival this time, and resources, it makes sense to have a mode showing that. Maybe even a more in-depth scavenger mode.

If they haven't done a mode like that, on the scale of the maps they've made, they've missed a trick

Not a fan of these trailers either but after 6 years of these trailers, I think we all know what to expect from them and we all know game wont look as good. Close enough, but not as good.

Still, when comparing them to similar game engine trailers of BFV, the upgrade is noticeable. Lighting looks more photorealistic.

With how talented DICE is and how beefy the next gen hardware is, I think they will do a fine job.

RNG RNG Watch Titan mode be the final trailer before release to get people even more hype lol

I want to amend my initial reaction. Now that some details have been revealed (much larger maps, new classes/operators, mutli-point capture zones, etc), I'm cautiously optimistic they'll deliver something interesting.

After months of leaks, EA and DICE have, at long last, officially unveiled Battlefield 2042. Though we won't be seeing actual gameplay until the Xbox E3 presser on June 13, quite a few details on the shooter have still been revealed.

Here, we're going to round up the fifteen most crucial bits of information you know should know about Battlefield 2042.

No point getting excited for a trailer knowing full well that the game will be a broken mess years after launch.

Battlefield can be fun and all but set your quality expectations low, like centre of the earth low.

Really hope this is not a COD wannabe like BF 5 was. I want the feel of BF back.
This is my biggest concern as well. Basically since the addition of sqaud spawn, I've felt like they've been trending towards COD. It's only gotten worse with maps having capture points on top of each other. Hopefully the bigger maps and operators/classes push things back in the other direction.
