Battlefield 2042: Spawning directly into vehicles is gone

BF4 introduced spawn into vehicles system that nobody seemed to like and has been used in the last battlefield games.

New to Battlefield 2042 is the vehicle call-in system, which allows you to airdrop vehicles to wherever you are on the map, instead of spawning into them. This system will allow you more freedom than ever before when it comes to navigating Battlefield’s massive spaces and terrain in search of a tactical advantage. We’re also going back to Battlefield’s roots where you once again can find vehicles on the battlefield, instead of activating them from the deploy screen.

awesome. Wonder how they're going to balance it out. I would assume the smaller ATV type vehicles will be more or less unlimited to let you not have to run across a giant map, but tanks and jets are gonna be on cooldown/team limit.

So, are they finally understanding vehicles are OP?

Reminds me the last conversation with some BF fanboys.

Then it's time to let someone else play, Jimmy.

I know being an only child breeds narcissism but you're going to learn today son!

what are you on about. just asking if you can spawn into a vehicle if a teammate is in it. long time since before BF4 so I forgot.

Sorry just being facetious. Then again I'm unclear what you're confused about? If someone's in a vehicle you're either able to hop in if said vehicle has extra seats or move on if it's already occupied to capacity?

It's like BF3 but you call them in and then anyone can use em'.

I like what I’m seeing so far but a noticeable lack of talk around destruction has me worried.

The destruction mechanics haven’t been good since Bad Company 2, I really hope in future updates we get more detail on better destruction

We can spawn in specific transport vehicles driven by teammates even when it's already in the battlezone in the last 4 recent BF games. He asked if we can still do that in this one

Good, no more chopper spam hopefully. I remember they could last ages just by having an endless spawning of new gunners and engineers to repair it.

so people will now just camp spawns and wait for vehicles to drop in in BF3 especially on conquest I couldnt count how many times people just sat in pawn waiting for jets, helicopters and tank to spawn in.
Yeah i remember in BF3 people there were always 10 people waiting for tanks, planes in spawn base. But i guess the same amount of people also would wait in spawn screen in BF4/BF5 so its basically the same

Good one of the biggest issue's modern battlefields have.

Back to the battlefield, and running to tanks / airplanes.

I assume you can still spawn on your squad so I guess that's one way of still getting into a vehicle instantly. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

In Hardline at least the best way to snag the chopper would be to prone next to the spawn and hold down the interact button. Beats people trying to get in from the deploy screen 100% of the time. I liked it much better than trying to grab a plane in BFV, since in Hardline I could at least see how much (if any) competition there was.

Always seemed to me like some sort of fair queue system should have been implemented. You can queue for one vehicle when you want, keep playing infantry as normal, and when it's your turn a notification pops up giving you 15 seconds to redeploy on it or something.

Getting and leveling up air vehicles in recent BF games has been a largely unfun process.

We've seen how ground vehicles spawn and are deployed, but has there been any info on aircraft yet? are there runways ? or do we just spawn into those in the air ?

That was the main issue with going all the way up to 64 players, there simply weren't enough vehicles to serve all those people, while the maps were so damn big that it was in fact faster to just wait for a vehicle to spawn and get with it to a designated point, instead of running on foot across entire map, often only to die by some random shit or a sniper and having to start all over again. BC had tons of tanks, trucks, jeeps, quads, boats, helis, no matter when you died, and wherever you respawned, there was ALWAYS some vehicle waiting for you, and it was very rare that every time a new match started someone was going by foot, whereas in BF3 an later half a team didn't have a choice, every match was a race to who'll get a vehicle first and who's the sucker that will have to take a walk. I think it would've been much better if instead of upping the player count yet again they stayed at 64 but at least doubled the amount of vehicles.

what if a teammate is in the vehicle?
Then you stand at spawn and watch the asshole that got to the vehicle first drive off, despite using the “I need a ride” multiple times, then you stand there waiting for said fucktard to die and the vehicle to respawn and the worst part of the franchise is BACK BABY!

I don't understand why it took them this long. Just put vehicles on the map that spawn, and leave it that way. The way it was in the original games. It was perfect.

I'm excited.

Too many shit heads play online shooters to ever stop vehicles being abused one way or another....they always find a way.

Anyone here playing BF 5 on Xbox in EU region? I wonder if it's hard to find a 64-person server with players.

I should have been more specific. I mean a squad mate.

speaking of squads, maybe it's better to have 6 members in the 120 mode.

As much as it’s sucks for squad mates I hope not, that is the biggest issues with chopper cancer. Unless they have a way to nuke that shit. No repairs on aircraft be nice.

After bush wookies, people just staring at the spawn screen waiting for vehicles was the worst part of Battlefield.

You read my mind. Also a lack of naval vehicles. Hoping the super secret mode DICE LA is working on has some destruction goodness. BC2 destruction is still awesome, even today.

lol, started BF mostly as support medic/engineer. I would just spend whole matches going around fixing vehicles. though in BC2 at least it was easier to take down vehicles and you you would get a full house of kills.

part of the problem with vehicles in recent BF games is that it's harder to flank them in the open maps and they take more damage and self repair.

Why would you want all the shit heads to join in and ruin the game for everyone else.

I say let them stay in the home base, doing nothing. It keeps them occupied and not doing stupid stuff elsewhere on the map.

Sweet. I loved to steal vehicles from the other team. They had to guard their resources. Cool.

Indeed. IDK how much players can respaw inside the tank, but loads of enginers repairing the tank can be quite annoying.
