The game looks to be great. The most unwarranted mob outrage I can remember in a while.

If this were a game coming in 2015, I'd agree but come on, people are tearing into cross-gen looking games coming this late. Especially when they don't even look cross-gen. This looks early last gen. I'm sure it will be fun but if it were a Xbox exclusive, you wouldn't have made this post. You'd be scoffing with the rest.

The game is fun. And increasing stats really pays off, this is my second boss kill, now with nearly maxed out advanced jobs:

He essentially becomes a joke if you spec on magic damage and break gauge damage.

ITT people act oblivious to the fact that its running on the same engine as Nioh2 which came out on PS5 and PC earlier this year.
You want to know how this is likely to look and perform, just watch any of the technical analyses of that game by DF, NXG and so on.

For a second I thought I'd somehow stumbled onto that other site. It's interesting how you use race as a pejorative.

Oh FFS, Don't be so freaking dense, or project shit onto my post that isn't there.

I use "white dude" as a simple adjective. Because he's a fucking white dude. There's no value judgement being made there, only in your head.

His character design is generic, regardless of his race. But being a white protagonist, among the many thousands of white due videogame protagonists, that aspect also becomes generic, because white dude videogame protagonists are overwhelmingly the most common.

None of this is rocket science.

Mage is very viable here more than in Nioh. gameplay has plenty of depth. there is big potential for co-op. one class is long range mage, another is a slasher/roamer. the 3rd is a FF sentinel class that would agro and defend and keep the mages safe.

If you meant something else you should have phrased it differently, then. The implication behind your word choice is that "white" equals generic, regardless of intent. That's just how the language works. Ultimately, you are still complaining that he is white, otherwise you could have left race out of your description. To you, it was important enough to warrant mention, and since it was one descriptor in a long list of negative attributes (from your perspective) it seems obvious that people will interpret it that way.

They don't get the budgets I would assume.

I find it amusing that from time to time we get these big threads complaining about AAA being bloated and over reliant on graphic but here we have a game where by most accounts the gameplay is great but all people are complaining about are the graphics lol.

No it's your reading comprehension that's the problem.

If your complaint is about what could or might be implied by a particular wording, you need to be honest enough to give room for the fact that it might not be implied.

As such if you assume something is implied the issue is your assumption not the wording.

You could have asked for clarification instead of casting aspersion. And yet here you go again.

The criticism about the game's protagonist is a contextual one about fucking videogame protagonists. The value judgement being made is about the genericness of the protagonist, not about his race. Nowhere did I argue that there's anything inherently negative about being white. That's just a shitty strawman argument you're trying to construct.

If you can't comprehend this basic point then just fuck off. I have no interest in engaging with such an idiotic fallacious argument.

Honestly, this looks like one of those early PS4 games that played @1080p 60 but were still using assets from the PS3 with 512MB RAM.
Character models aren't that bad, but the environments look a bit embarrassing.
