While I would definitely be there day 1 for a GBA Castlevania collection, I'm much more interested in a DS Castlevania collection.

Yea the existence of this would pretty much also prove the eventual existence of the DS collection - in my mind at least. DS probably takes the most work since they can't just rom dump and have to do something with the 2 screen interface, even if it's just clipping out the bottom screen and puttin the map in a pause menu or something.

I don't know what this has to do with Castlevania, but this is one of the funniest gifs I've seen in a while, LMAO.

Damn homegirl, not even the nearby Gatorade station can quench that THIRST 😂

Do this and a Lords of Shadow HD collection and all is forgiven Konami.

I know Lords of Shadow gets a lot of hate around these parts, but I actually had fun with the first game. Also Patrick Stewart give an awesome voice acting performance. (Admittedly, I haven't played the others...)

Not quite that easy considering you had to draw spells in dawn of sorrow iirc. I wouldn't hold your breath for the DS collection

I'd definitely enjoy replaying Harmony and Aria, fingers crossed for the excellent DS games as well. I feel like the touch screen stuff in those games was pretty gimmicky and could be removed/replaced fairly easily.

True, but they could get swapped to a menu selection instead, or something similar. Point is it would take them actual work instead of just putting in an emulator and some ROMs.

If they were able to get Skyward Sword and the No More Heroes games functioning without waggle, it's definitely a possibility.

Oh I'm sure it's possible. I just don't see them putting in the effort

I wouldn't even mind them being lazy and just making the touch screen patterns auto complete (or removed altogether).

This, it felt like they were totally shoehorned in there in the first place just because DS titles had to have some kind of touchscreen functionality.

This is fantastic, I had Aria of Sorrow permanently glued in my DS years and years ago. This made me go and check and wonder why SotN never had a Steam release either?

Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night got a packaged release on PS4. I *hope* it wasn't an exclusive release, because that would suck.

In my dreams this is not just them cashing in on their legacy catalog and is instead to establish the relevance of Castlevania in todays market and to drum up interest for a Sony funded fully remastered sprit based SOTN and or Castlevania Soulslike.

I think they'll probably have close eyes on how this collection does, along with Metroid Dread to a lesser degree. 2D non-indie Metroidvania revival, here we go.

Aside from a full reimaging of Soul Reaver, a SOTN remake would be the most amazing announcement I can imagine. Both were such an important part of PlayStation history and if Sony want to leverage our nostalgia they would be smart to bring them both back.

That fan remake looks really awesome. I'll be content with that instead of Konami just throwing a filter on SotN and trying to charge 30 bucks for it.

There was a neogaf thread about the fan project a few years ago....

Why just Sony? Why not all fans?

I say Sony because the original was PS1, at least mind share, thus nostalgia tied to that group. And I say Sony funded because we all know Konami's cheap asses aren't making it. Only way I see something like this happening is for someone like Sony to pony up for the project.

The spell drawing was just a gimmick. If they just turned it into a cutscene or made it something done on the Switch touchscreen, nothing would be lost.

So are we going to get a proper aspect ratio with no filter in this pack or are we going to get garbage virtual scan lines forced upon us in a good aspect ratio. Made the prior collection on switch unplayable for me.
