Ideas for the Zelda series?

Here are mine.

- A third game for the Hero of Time. Majora's Mask was a side story, so this would be a conclusion to his story, and Ocarina of Time 2. So, no pressure or anything.

- The Third Oracle Game, or a spiritual successor to that series.

- Twilight Princess 2 - That era was showing stuff like gunpowder cannons, magnetic mining, Hyrule was getting pretty advanced.

- Wind Waker 2 showing the search for a new land. Do what Ubisoft won't, make the ultimate Pirate adventure and combine Wind Waker with Assassins Creed 4 ship combat, boarding, ship upgrade mechanics, ect.

- Skyward Sword 2 showing the founding of Hyrule. Or go even further back, and show the First Hero and the utter cataclysm that was the war with the demons led by Demise.

- A reimagining of Zelda 2, or spiritual successor

- A new 3D or 2D Zelda making use of the Four Sword, Vaati, Minish. I think BotW 2 may actually go this route, as BotW 1 had concept art of the Minish.

Wildcard - Majora's Mask 2, but you have a BotW scale Termina used as a more conventional setting. You get 8 dungeons, and a lot more masks to mess around with.

- Paper Zelda.

- A Zelda Soul like by FromSoft with world design by Monolith Soft.

- A Netflix anime by Studio Trigger or the studio doing Adventure of Dai.

Toei is doing animation for both One Piece and Adventure of Dai.

As for Trigger doing Zelda, I love their work but they do much more of over the top anime, not really fit for Zelda, I go with either BONES or Madhouse or even Wit Studio (they are pretty damn good).

Studio Ghibli at their best, would of course be the best choice for me.

A live-action Zelda would be the riskiest move, and therefore the most interesting one for me. It takes a lot more creativity to adapt a video game world to live-action. I wanna see that creativity.
Live-action Zelda is easier to fuck up. But I also think it has greater potential than an animated Zelda.

My favorite Zelda aesthetic is the dark fantasy look of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess. I want more games like that. One problem might be that the next natural step for that aesthetic is to go realistic, and Nintendo's shown that leaning away from realism really pays off, but I really want some kinda dark look that leans away from cel shading.

Its funny though, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild have lighter fantasy looks and tone, sure, but they are all post apocalyptic settings on a scale even Twilight Princess never reached (Edit - Okay, yes with what Zant did to the Kingdom of Twilight).

I would only trust Peter Jackson with Nintendo's final say and a Lord of the Rings tier budget/cast/crew to even attempt such a thing, and that is likely never happening. A good anime would would be infinitely more viable.

Just don't invite the production companies, writers, or director from 2017's Death Note :lollipop_smiling_face_eyes:
Picture it. Select your dream director. Could they make something amazing out of a live-action Zelda?

There are IPs don't work as live action, like One Piece or DBZ and Zelda is one of them.
Very true. Moving on from here, what would you think of a Breath of the Wild scale game set in Termina, with 8 dungeons and like a hundred masks?

OP sure likes sequels and spiritual successors
I would be up for a Paper Zelda, a Zelda city builder or even a full on Dragon Quest like Zelda RPG.

Just give it to Uwe Boll. What could possibly go wrong?

I just can't, no matter how much you throw money at it I just cant see it and more importantly I don't want "gritty" Zelda, fuck that!!!

I rather see Wit Studio do the adaptation on it.

  • Change up the typical "hero saves princess" plot. Give Zelda the chance to be the protag and do something cool with her for once.

  • 23dbbc72572898356cf4514d6216b000.png

  • FULL STORY CO-OP, open world and dungeons included, in the 3D gameplay format. HWOALY shit this would be good. Online if possible, but we know Nintendo, so I'd take local only if it really came down to it.

Yeah that's about it, I've been asking for these 2 things for years now.

Monolith Soft - Zelda RPG
Vanillaware - Side Scrolling Zelda adventure in the vein of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Dragons Crown Pro

Zelda needs a serious boost in difficulty. The series has gotten way too easy. No challenge whatsoever.

Zelda side quest and dungeons need to be more than just extra rupees or a heart piece - when your game is easy as shit, who cares?

Oh. I have maladaptive daydreaming and this one I've played out a lot.
It's actually a trilogy called The Legend of Zelda Heroes of Time.
The first one takes place early in the timeline where the king is killed and Zelda the hopeful princess/future queen is kidnapped be a dark force. The main character is actually a young ... who, as a member of the Shiek tribe is sword to protect the Hyrulean family.
She goes on a quest to avenger her fallen tribesmen, rescue Zelda, and find out who is behind the attack.
The game play would be more akin to a soulsbourne came where plays would have to engage in thoughtful swordplay with Impa's various weapons.

The second in the series is a bit of a curveball. A dark entity puts Zelda (later in the timeline) under a sleeping curse and uses as a mean to ulter reality into a dreamlike word. In the midst of this of this chaos, a part of Zeldas consciousness is able to dream Shiek (the gameplay) into being in an effort to twart the dark entity's plans.
The gameplay is much more vertical-based and acrobatic. Hyrule kingdom is torn asunder and left into a dreamlike version of itself. The combat is much faster and the exploration much more open-ended where different parts of the dreamword are connected and need to be unlocked by the player in order to reach the center where the dark entity with the sleeping Zelda awaits

The third one in the series would be where Link appears and in spirit is somewhat a homage or remake to the original Zelda in it's story and focus with various tools and dungeons. One mechanic will be unlocking and using the legendary weapons of the six Hyrulean Heroes that were the last to seal away Ganon long ago.

There's way more details but it would be too much to type on my phone. lol

PLEASE GET RID OF THE DEGRADABLE WEAPONS IN ZELDA GAME!! WE WANT OUR WEAPON TO LAST FOREVER !! WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING LEGENDARY SWORD IF IT ONLY LAST FOR LIKE 9-10 SWING !! EFIN RIDICULOUS !!

THE MOST ANOYING THING EVER IN VIDEOGAME !!

Not sure how they’d manage to pull it off, but maybe a terrible war of some sort develops between villains such as Vaati versus someone like Zant. So two sorcerers (Vaati is technically more than that) and a new villain could take the scene as well. Ganon can either sit this one out or play an intricate role as a villain, but im waiting for the day that complex war breaks out between several villains at the same time. Big fan of the villains of this series, most of them anyway, so Nintendo involving several forces that could lead to next level story and gameplay would be a huge deal

Kill Link within the first 120 minutes of the game, then you play the rest of the game as Links murderer. Then retcon Link as the series bad guy.

Instant Oscars award.

Calm down, t'is but a joke

Normal dungeons, let divine beasts go away. Reassert traditional fan favorite characters from previous games (Bank teller, mailman etc.) do something for the first time like a chance to upgrade Epona’s gear.

Make a trilogy. First ganondorf or ganon or whoever the main bad guys name is have his story from the beginning to where he goes to the darkside. Then you have zelda's story where she deals with ganon and trying to save her kingdom and then you have link as the last game where he saves the day.

Nintendo gets to make 3 games and save money since they would be using a lot of the same monsters, towns, npcs, and world elements.

Everything else seems great. If you mean ideas for games

It's been awhile since there's been a mainline non-remake game in a world that isn't Hyrule. I'm one of those nerds that love Koholint Island, Termina, Labrynna and Holodrum. If I can't expect Death Mountain, the Lost Woods, or Lake Hylia, it serves both to not leave me disappointed if they're absent, and be excited for new areas.

Also would like to see a Dark World mechanic done with contemporary gameplay, and not a half assed half step like the Twilight Realm. ALTTP style, with actual world sweeping changes and interworld puzzles.

Fare thee well

Ohh I'd like a few things. I really would love to see the marriage of breath of the wild with something like twilight princess. You get this immersive open world with different attack strategies and armors to build off of, but you also get these hyperfocused thematic puzzle dungeons that make you feel accomplished for getting your new equipment and defeating the boss. And getting your new equipment needs to feel like it always does when it opens up whole new things to explore. Lastly, most of the zelda fanbase is quite aged now. It would be interesting to see a little more seriousness out of the characters, the enemies, and the combat. That last one isn't so essential for me as nintendo is sort of synonymous with light-hearted in my book. But it has been how many iterations now? Just keep trying radically different things I say.

Seeing all this posts makes me wonder if you really understood the point of the game.

It's not about the story.

It's about the gameplay and mechanics. It is always been about that, saving the princess is just an excuse to get lost on the map/dungeon.
