Got GP but don't care to. Next up for me is that isometric game with melee combat(forget the name) and then The Ascent.

Never played the first one.

This is one of those franchises like Oddworld where the art style is really off-putting to me.

Reminds me of the movie Antz that also has this weird art style that has always creeped me out

Except it's so much better than oddworld......it deserves a chance!

I played the first and enjoyed it but am undecided on the second. Best memories were the milkman and the swamp creature. I pre-ordered the first game at EB games and they gave me a pretty dope tie dye shirt.

I remember playing the first game when it released, but I never finished it back then.

Tried re-playing it on Series X recently but the controlls feel very outdated/sluggish today. I wish they'd release an updated version of the first game alongside the second.

That said, I'm definitely excited to play the second game even though I likely won't finish the first. I think it looks gorgeous!

Never played the original, and since it's essentially an xbox franchise now I don't wanna get invested in a franchise I wont play more entries of

Played the first. Never finished it, but absolutely loved many things about it, except...well, the gameplay, in particularly the mechanics/collision. It just wasn't fun for me to play. And again, though I loved much of what it tried to accomplish and mainly where its heart was, it wasn't interesting enough to me to suffer through below-par mechanics and gameplay. Whereas a game like Fragile Dreams was a nightmare to play, it was so deeply touching and magical in its storytelling, I gladly suffered through its gameplay, Psychonauts didn't come even close. Again, its heart was in the right place, I think.

Will I try the second? I doubt it, but maybe.

Played first one on pc. Loved art style, characters and story. But keyboard mouse controls feel like ass on 3rd person platformers. Gave up back then.

Super excited to play part 2 on controller.

The first was fun and have some memorable levels and sequences. But 100% was a pain, a lot of the platforming was clunky and frustrating and some of the fighting was, too.

I never really thought it needed a sequel, or that I would play one, so current plans are a no for the second one. Maybe some day when the backlog is lighter -- yeah right like that's ever going to happen.

I tried the first game a few months ago, for the first time. Couldn't stand it, the gameplay felt incredibly dated.

Just.. Cumbersome and not fun at all? Maybe it was fun if you played it back when it was released, but I felt it really hadn't aged well. Wasn't for me.

Might try the second one if the impressions are good after the release.

Played through it for the first time back in May. I was really blown away by how well it had held up in most regards. The controls were a tad clunky by today's standards, but the writing, the voice acting, the art style, so much of it was so surprisingly great for how old it is. It made me wish I had played it back when it came out, I was heavy into 3D platformers and would've been all over it. Nowadays it's hard to find an actually good 3D platformer outside of Nintendo's first party, but Psychonauts might just be the next best thing.

I will definitely be playing the new one.

I can’t get excited based on all the trailers and presentations, but I will definitely give it a chance because Broken Age was such a damn fine game.

My option wasn't included:
  • Didn't play any of these
  • Going to play both of them, sequentially, of course

I'm proud to say that I bought and played Psychonauts when it first released on the Xbox, I still don't get why it wasn't a bigger initial hit because to me it was so obviously an interesting game.

Crazy as hell to think of a sequel finally coming 16 years later, but what a dream come true, I remember for years definitely feeling like there'd never be a sequel.

Nah, this is a crock of shit.
There's nothing beside maybe the visuals (in some areas) that feel "old" or "dated" about the game.
You may not like it but age has nothing to do with it.

No voting option for my case. I never played the first but seeing how awesome the second is going to be I will play the first game before it

Loved the first one very much (apart from meat circus) when I played it long time ago. Definitely gonna get into the second one.

You already predetermined that you hate the game before playing it. Who does that?
A person that dislikes most platform games, but still keeps trying them in the hope to find one that he can enjoy. That's me.

Ratchet and Clank, Sonic, Mario, Ori, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper and others... I always try them out and end up disliking them... The only platform games that I enjoyed were Megaman and Castlevania. However, my quest continues so I keep trying to find one that will surprise me.

I really enjoyed the first game, but to me it's definitely a console game (relax on the couch and play it with the wife), and since I play all MS games on PC i'm not going to be buying a Series S/X for just one game.

Never really got far at the first Psychonauts but the second looks psychedelic and fun.
This.

I played the original back in the day, but I had a chipped Xbox with all the games I could possibly want to play so I got easily distracted (by playing Chaos Theory and Strangers Wrath for the umpteenth time).

But yeah, seemed like a fun game and I’ll try the sequel.

Played through the first one on PC back when it first released. Will likely get the new one when it releases.

I don't think it's dated that much. Certain aspects have, like the camera

The combat was always mediocre. The first part of the meat circus was always annoying. It was never a perfect game and was Tim's first action game and Double Fine's first title, but the things that made it stand out then, like the writing and varied level design still hold up really well in my opinion.

It's one of those games that was only ever like an 8 out of 10 objectively but remained a classic because it was so clever and creative.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
One of those games that came out during a big era for SONY (Ratchet, God of War etc.) it may be a quality game for Xbox.

I didn't play the first, so I don't have any hype going for it. The look never pulled me in, reminds me of Antz.

I don't understand why they're doing it. But I hope I am wrong and wish them well.

Included with services like gamepass, it could just thrive. If I had access to it I would definitely try. I have to say it would probably be a good move to give the first one out via Xbox BC.

I didn't vote because the "no, and no" option seemed quite hostile to me.

I di play a bit of the original game but didn't really think much of it. I loved Tim Schafer's work with LucasArts so was really looking forward to this but as 3D platformer's go this seemed pretty average really. I've not ruled out playing the new game yet but they've not really showed anything so far that makes me think this coul be an improvement over the studios other 3D games.
If I' being completely honest, I think I'd get more out of replaying one of the LucasArts games than this.

Not sure what to expect from the sequel, looking at some gameplay videos of number 2 it looks very Mario like. What I mean is the gameplay looks very varied and innovative. Definitely will play it cos of Gamepass obviously 😀
