So, GTA V Expanded and Enhanced is 4 months out and still no trailer to show just how expanded and enhanced it really is...

well they use the same engine but yeah the leak seems to suggest it will be updated to at least match RDR2
That would mean redoing every single asset and animation in the game as well as reimplementing all the lighting tech..... At that point you can basically remake the entirety of it.

Not gonna happen.

GTAVR for PSVR2. This would make sense unfortunately PSVR2 will be out next year fall the earliest. Is it confirmed the enhanced version of singleplayer releasing in November I thought it was just GTA Online PS5 version coming first and singleplayer next year.

Expanded is interesting if it means story.

I remember shortly after GTA came out the VA for Franklin was back in the vocal booth, but then a year or so later after the original release R* said they weren't doing any SP packs.

I wonder if what the VA was recording will now see the light of day?

I don't expect anything aside from any dlc and default technology gains.

That said I have been dipping in and out for 2 or 3 years on my xbox 360 and had a great time.

Clearly ps4 was better but not THAT much better, I expect even less obvious improvements now.

And that is fine. People clearly still want to buy this product and the rest of us would probably like all possible effort directed to gta6.

knowing Rockstar the PC version will get updated in 2023. ps3/360 came out 2013, ps4/xb1 came out 2014, and PC came out 2015.

i find it difficult to get excited for this update since Rockstar likes to treat PC gamers like trash.

Game is huge on PC. It’s the only platform that people can do their weird RP shit on.

So on November 11th, exactly 4 months from now, GTA V "next gen" will launch and yet we still don't know anything about it. What graphical enhancements it will have? Will there be 60fps options (120fps options?)? What content have they added?

The PS4/XB1 versions launched on November 18th 2014 and the first trailer showcasing the graphical improvements came out at E3 that year, on June 10th 2014. So compared to that timeline we're a month late already. Since it was first announced at Sony's PS5 event, is Rockstar waiting for Sony's next big event to show it?
They didn't show much of the PS4/X1 version when they were first announced back in 2014. In fact it was so quiet that many speculated that the new version had been cancelled altogther. It wasn't until like 2 weeks before release did they show any of it off. Mainly the new first person view.

This is VERY consistent with last gen.

I hope you're not expecting a real next gen upgrade.

Rockstar has been doing this shit since revealing gta5 on 360 and ps3, show a trailer 6 months before the game releases, they will more then likely show another trailer a before it comes out

Not true, the very first trailer showed significant graphical improvements over the 360/PS3 version:

But it was pretty much a blackout of information after that. They didn't really talk much about it until close to release. I remember it quite well.

Expanded story would mean a lot of people will buy it again.

Unlikely that they will add new sp content.

I don't think they will use new Textures so i predict that mostly lighting and atmospheric improvements will be made. Besides maybe Ragdoll and vegetation improvements.
They should also update the character models. They Look outdated as fuck.

Yeah, but here we didn't even get that much, we got nada so far on the enhancements and added content.
All I know is that if I am expected to pay for it, I wont be. I havent played GTA V in years. Rockstar has no chance of getting more money from me.

I exclusively play FiveM nothing left on regular MP and story mode was good in the beginning.

FiveM has car meets and custom cars and all that jazz that everyone wants out of the base game.

Obviously most are hoping for the game engine upgrade to tease GTA 6 I doubt it happens but I have some dumb wishful thinking left..

I didn't quote you did i? But oh well thanks for quoting me now i'm gonna welcome you to my ignore list so i won't have to read you useless posts ever again.
Nope you didn’t but this is a forum and I am allowed to reply to comments :) I just think it’s dumb to come into a thread and cry that you don’t give a flying fuck about what people are talking about.

GTA V needs to hold out until 2024 so a major update to graphics to match RDR2 level wouldn't be crazy.

I honestly think GTA5 for PS5 will just be an upres port. Settings bump.

I doubt its gonna look like RDR2. That'll be GTA6.

I think it’s just going to be a resolution bump and better loading times….you might get some new textures but I really do think they don’t want to seperate the userbases again as they make so much money from ps4/Xbox microtansactioms

Gamer79

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
1. Expanded storyline, and side quest
2. Able to purchase properties. more internal buildings to enter
3. Ray tracing with 60 fps with upscale 4k
4. More activities and scripted events.

Come on Rockstar, FFFFFFFFFFF multiplayer.

step 1, open Steam
step 2, buy GTA5
step 3, set it to the highest settings
step 4, lock the framerate to 60fps
step 5, set the resolution to about 1800p

done, you have the new console version of GTA5

I bet it'll include Euphoria physics and that cloud pedestrian traffic AI thing that they patented a while back.

uhm, Euphoria is used in every Rockstar game since GTA4

One thing the game still does better than a lot of new games is rain and lightning effects, the thunderstorms looked great in GTAV even on PS3/360 but the rain allows light to pass through, the puddles have "reflections" the lightning actually flashed and lights up the entire screen in a much more realistic way than most games. I'd love to have seen the Witcher 3 have weather effects as good as GTAV :)

I expect AI upscale textures, like Mass Effect trilogy,. Then, heists and vehicles from multiplayer and a few quests integrating those into SP. maybe more if we are lucky.

HDR and performance improvements are a gimme.

People being unnecessarily cynical in this thread. This is rockstar we’re talking about, it’ll be a nice upgrade
Rockstar are very much in the USED TO BE good category. We're nearly a decade deep from having a new GTA game, RDR2 was the remains of Leslies work, most of the main people have left the company now and yet we still get fanboys wanking themselves off saying "But it's Rockstar!". Enjoy your full price product for what will be a bare bones upgrade.

They at least need to give some extra SP content. Some new missions and side content and a bunch of stuff. If it just 60 FPS and 4k then it is not worth it. There are plenty of Sony exclusives that have provided those updates at no extra cost.

How about we wait and see, like reasonable people, instead of catastrophizing and then being rude when people don’t agree with the worst case scenario you’ve made up in your head.

what will it be then?

it's literally called EXPANDED/ENHANCED edition and it will have new features "and more" according to Rockstar. it doesn't sound like it's just gonna be a resolution/framerate boost.
Expanded/enhanced sounds to me like a bump in resolution which nobody would care since the game will look the same and for expanded I would guess maybe some new side missions or some new cars? Nothing big though
