I am slightly irritated my post regarding my criticism of halo infinite got removed in this thread because I genuinely feel the gameplay plays poorly like halo 5 guardians. I am a big-time classic halo fan (specifically Halo 2-3 multiplayer) so I didn't appreciate my opinion being censored for the sake of supposed "trolling". That is going too far - I am allowed to formulate my opinion and feelings on how I feel it plays and I can also make comparisons to halo 5 being poorly received by a big portion of the halo community. I want the game to succeed so if they can receive this criticism and make amends before launch - great, don't censor me for that...

Halo 5 had some of the best multiplayer of the series. That's not saying anything prior was bad (other than Halo 4) but Halo Infinite even improves upon the Halo 5 formula with a better formula between old and new.

Pros
- Solid foundation,
- Precision is required
- Love equipment
- You can spot like in Battlefield
- Spartan Squads for BTB was in the settings
- Sprint is implemented well and doesn't give you a huge advantage
- Ground Pound is gone
- Spartan Charge is gone
- Thrusters are gone
- Armor looks plated and heavy, great mix between Halo 3 and Halo Reach
- The sound design is punchy and clear
- Graphics are detailed and clean
- Sidekick was a great starter
- Assault Rifle was useful when burst firing at a distance and full automatic up close
- Grapple shot, when mastered, will be fun.

Cons
- Spartan Banter needs to go, I unchecked it in settings but they still didn't shut up.
- Don't like the AI. Seems tacked on for the Battle Pass
- Battle Pass needs to be more like MCC
- Not a huge fan of the outlines, but like that you can choose the colors. Gamertags floating above their heads would be just as effective
- Shield damage isn't as apparent, but does light up the area of the spartan that you are shooting
- Sniper Rifle zooms in too much on first zoom
- Skewer needs to peg people to the wall/floor/ceiling
- Need more feedback when getting shot
- Need less human environments
- Would like an option to have less marred armor.
- Grenades feel heavier than usual
- Auto-Shotgun could use a slight buff

Glitch
- Main Menu camera glitched into the floor during my play through

I doubt it's 4k 120fps as in the options you get Performance and Quality modes.
Yup.
Xbox Series X in the 60fps mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2400x1800. Xbox Series X in the 60fps mode uses temporal upsampling to reconstruct a 3840x2160 resolution when rendering natively below this resolution.

Xbox Series X in the 120fps mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being approximately 2240x1440 and the lowest resolution found being 1920x1080. Native resolution pixel counts at 1920x1080 seem to be common on Xbox Series X in the 120fps mode. Xbox Series X in the 120fps mode uses temporal upsampling to reconstruct a 3840x2160 resolution.

343's upsampling tech must be very good because I'm not getting the impression the Series S is running sub 720p in 120fps mode at all. I imagine it'll improve a lot by release too
Yeah doesn't look too bad, when I read it without seeing the video I thought maybe the 60fps mode would be the way to go but really, that mode looks fine.
They should be able to smooth out the Series X 120fps mode by launch.

Hopefully the One X will have a 1080p 60fps mode because it's horrible when you've been playing on Series consoles previously. There is simply little point if you're playing at 30fps, I'd take a resolution hit for sure for 60fps.

Dat 120 FPS mode looking clean for 1080P. I think i'll stick with it! What a beauty

they "helped" id software with the engine on quake champions and its horrible
Eh. Its still the best version of Quake multiplayer we have right now. Granted it has its fair share of issues but what engine doesn't'? Also they've done quite a number of really solid projects as well so I wouldn't count them out based on just one title.

jesus as a one x only owner.....one x and one s look unplayable, visually and framerate wise, and the game doesnt look THAT graphically intense.

I tried it on One X after Series X and the contrast is stark, not visually but the framerate being a quarter of Series X and frametimes seemed uneven, since there is a performance option in the menu I'm hoping that there will be a 60fps option at launch.
As for One S I haven't got much hope.

Gets a B only because the PC version was very rough and it took a couple of patches to get it decent. The gameplay itself was fantastic and gets an A from me.

B. Took a bit to have an optimal PC experience after a patch, but the core gameplay is excellent and the short PvP session showed it gets better. The menu navigation can be a bit clunky and its missing some basic things, but hopefully because its an older build. Nothing huge.

There’s gonna be a LOT of team kills with that new outline feature. And I for one will be responsible for many. Apologies in advance.

Yes I absolutely hated the outline. I honestly rather just keep red vs blue if this is the best the could do to distinguish teammates from the enemy. Or do like cod and add your teammates gt over them.

Also makes it harder to know if my enemy's shield is down. Thankfully there's some time for more feedback and there's more "flights" coming.

Had a great time with it, performance issues aside (PC). Multiplayer wise hated Reach, 4 but loved 5, this is the best of the lot for the small slice we got. Great potential. 10/10

They see Xbox threads and feel threatened, here is their mantra:

*See Xbox Game Thread that sounds positive*

Prepare for trouble.
To protect the Jim Ryan from devastation!
To hate all Xbox within our Playstation nation!
To denounce the evils of Spencer and Nadella!
SSD!
Exclusives!
Team Playstation, blast off at the speed of our 5.5GB/s!
Surrender now, you have no exclusives prepare to fight!
That's right!

... ill leave now
Microsoft sure fixed the no exclusives thing, they now have 23 first-party studios, I believe Xbox owns the RPG segment, Xbox is getting the next fable, the next Elder scrolls, and the new Avowed that's supposed to be first person RPG just like Elder Scrolls. I won't be surprised if Xbox wins this generation.

Mostly a PlayStation guy these days but got an Xbox One for the MCC and Halo 5.
I thought 5 multiplayer sucked but this Infinite test feels better so far. I know it's early and against bots and only one map but it feels good to me.
I will definitely get a series x when I can find one if this Halo turns out good.
Do you only play on console? You say your a PlayStation guy but if you don't get a series X you're not going to be able to play the new fable, the next Elder Scrolls, the next Fallout, or the new and exciting Starfield, or any Bethesda title for that matter. Also Xbox has a new first person RPG game called Avowed that's coming too that looks very exciting. At this point if you're just a console player why would you stick with PlayStation for this generation?

has been asked to post in 'Grounded' mode.
I think gameplay wise the multiplayer looks good, the graphics aren't amazing but good

I need to see more of the campaign though, that's all I care about in gaming

Aside from some minor glitches here and there like brief screen blackouts during menu transitions and weird positioning bugs during player intros game play was pretty tight though slower paced than i have become accustomed to nowadays. Graphics were good enough, looks like a modern game, wasn't particularly lacking though by no means spectacular (i feel like it will get there upon release). Performance was pretty solid. What i do want changed is aim assist should be dialed up a bit for controller play. As it is, kbm players will eat controller only players during cross-play matches where a console player is playing with a pc only buddy and be placed in pc only matches.

Rated it a B because of some serious PC performance issues. I have a 2060. I get 120 easy on Fortnite on medium settings as well as CoD. In this Halo tech preview, I maybe got 60 (maybe). In addition, some of the weapons need serious adjusting (i.e. sniper and other guns that need buffing), the maps are O.K. at best and way too call-of-duty-ey. However, the gameplay was a shit load of fun and the simplistic yet advanced movement was fire. I didn't get to play in the PvP, but I'm imagining it being very fun.

I haven't played it yet so I can't vote.

But based on what I've seen I'd give it an A minus. The minus is for the fact they removed thruster boost :(

I fucking loved that mechanic in H5!

Thruster was fun at first but honestly it takes the predictability out of Halo engagements, especially one on one. It created a loop too unpredictable and also enabled some pretty fantastical movements that weren't intended or easily learnt/known by most players. I've said it before but slide jump while forward movement left + strafe back right + jump front left + thruster any direction you wanted while in the air and all the while shooting at your enemy just made for crappy engagements or surprise hits out of nowhere. Unpredictability isn't what Halo is about.

Just a reminder, unlimited budget (500 million rumor) and an extra yr of dev. after delay. Congrats to what is another FTP game with a name attached. Make no mistake that is a fact.
