-Switch remaster handled by Saber Interactive
-Derived from the PS3/X360 codebase
-Uses temporal anti-aliasing
-Resolution is dynamic - tops out at 1600x900
-Increased grass density + a slight change in grass rendering
-Improved texture quality
-Improved, higher-res shadow maps
-Improved ambient occlusion
-Slightly altered sky rendering
-Consistent 30fps, but has improper frame pacing issues just like it did in Crysis 1 remastered

Accompanied article for those not interested in watching the vid:

I pre-ordered for XB, always wanted to have all three on disc. Time to sell my 360 copies of 2 and 3 for like 2 cents.

If the Switch is a 360/PS3+ in your hands, dare we hope for the Switch 2 to be a XB1/PS4+?

On topic, I might pick this up as I never got around to playing it back then. Sure it's not the best way to play, but I enjoyed Crysis 2 on the 360, and gyro aiming is a big plus for me.

And 360 also. It's funny how DF avoid such argument. I'm asking why :messenger_smirking:
They didn't, they have the 360 comparison in the video. PS3 is likely used for the majority of the video because it is the worst version overall, so it makes a good comparison to how it has been improved on the Switch.

They said it's better of the 360 version also? Because I heard just about how bad was the PS3 in comparison.

Yes, they said the PS360 generation performance was suboptimal, then followed that with footage of both the PS3 and 360 being well under 30FPS.
They not said exactly that to be fair. They did a general talks about how games run at the end of such generation. But they never mentioned the performance on 360 as unacceptable or the Switch version superior to it.

8:07 they are referring to last gen versions, then mention performance is suboptimal if being kind. Then they follow it up with footage of both consoles not hitting 30FPS. They also state that hitting a locked 30FPS was not always the case with the PS360 era. No where are they giving the impression the 360 version is great. Both the 360 and PS3 ran Crysis 3 poorly, just the PS3 more so (for obvious reasons).

I never said they claimed the 360 version is great. I just say they completely avoid to do any kind of comparison between the 2 which is frankly bizzarre, considered you should use the best version for the console to compare not the worst one. But I know it's always a coincidence with them.

It's 2021 and were comparing to the PS3 version. Slow day at DF

Not to mention the PS3 runs at native resolution (lower, I know) while Nintendo Switch running at 900p, but using dynamic resolution unlike PS3.

I guess the real change is the AA between versions, but using dynamic scaler is not a good way of comparing some dat ass old game.

1024×720p wasn't exactly something to be proud even at the time especially with such performance.

My point is 'if' PS3 version was made today would probably get the same standarts as this Nintendo Switch. You know, using dynamic scaler and bump the resolution don't mean the game will runs 900p 100% of the time.

Unless you keep looking at the sky.

edit: BTW, I would make a comparison withNintendo Swtich the best choise would be X360 because Xbox 360 runs at a higher resolution and better perfomance than PS3.

The Switch GPU is better of the ps360. But I mean it's ten years younger. PS3 was terrible in the games GPU stressing.

Someone say otherwise? I know since launch the Switch GPU is better than PS360, I just don't understand why the comparison pick PS3 because PS3 games run like shit.

I still have my Crysis 3 PS3 copy right here.

But they did compare the two, they have a section of footage dedicated to it. I would think they would also use the worst version as well, to show how far it has come. Basically a 'look how well this game runs now on a 2015 under-clocked mobile chipset vs something that was considered state of the art not even a decade before'.

Personally I am not that surprised, the Switch has way more available memory then the PS360 generation, and GPU that is quite a bit more advanced. Obviously the game will run better.

They are not deliberately dunking on the PS3, I think everyone is aware that almost all multiplatform games ran worse on it. Using it as a comparison is not going to sway people to Xbox over Playstation or have any perception on how well games run now on Playstation.

Wow. Insinuations. Lol. You no need to be paid to have some preference. I just find laughable their attitude.
So they are fanboys? All 85 employees? That's even more stupid. They make a living out of that, they can't afford to be biased. But everyone should believe what they want.

Because they have to remember to the people how shitty was PS3 in the multiplat (as if someone can forget it).

Maybe someone know, but why compare only to PS3?
Wouldn't be more logic to compare to both 360 and PS3? Or they both runs all the same?

Steam Deck 2 will likely come first

360 should have better AF, shadows and shaders (unified shaders not possible on PS3). And higher resolution as better performance. I suspect they avoid to use the 360 because most of their viewers are Xbox fans and they not want to hurt their "feeling" saying something like that Switch version is superior. At least knowing their attitude.

Greater gulf between the PS3 and Switch. It shows the most gen over gen improvement.

Exactly, it's another Switch fluff piece, so they have to paint the best light for another miracle, impossible port. Showing the Switch and 360 versions both at 30fps doesn't do that.

The 360 wasn't absolutely 30 FPS steady anyway.

I think the biggest issue Crytek struggled with on 360 was RAM. Ps3's split setup was even worse. Switch has quite a bit more than both.

Even if the performance was the same on 360 it'd still be an impressive port considering the switch's TDP.
