Not sure. I was called a fanboy by multiple "Xbox sided" users for calling the 13 minute gameplay reveal of Scorn boring and not very good. One of those users in particular already got triggered in this thread and came to MS rescue.
Really you see it from both sides, but many users try to hide it.
Are you saying that big corps like MS buy smaller devs, set them up to fail, then “intervene” to look like the good guy? That’s crazy talk!

I will actually try to answer this one seriously, especially because you clearly didn’t want it to be answered.
1) It helped with my irrational fear of flying and as someone who loves traveling to all parts of the world, this is the big one.
2) I crashed into the house I am living in. I also crashed into mount Fiji, that Jesus statue in Rio as well as other famous landmarks.
3) It gave me a chance to visit places I will never get to visit.
4) It taught me the basics of how airplanes work.
5) it left me in awe, reminding me how beautiful this planet is. Of course, I can get the same feeling by watching one of those Attenborough docs, but here I choose my own content.
6) Soon I will be able to get that Top Gun experience and it is going to be glorious.
7) It calms me down better than anything after a long, stressful day at work.
have i to tell you how many from SSM naughty dog and other are still in the initiative ? lol some people have still no idea of how this industry works

But which games are more technically impressive.
Whether a game has SSS or an RTGI implementation while Flight Sim doesnt isnt whats happening, we are taking the whole game as a technical marvel........which games do you know that are more technically impressive.
And before you comment make sure you know what you are talking about watch the dev logs and update logs for Flight Simulator.

It's all just speculation but it's not out of the realm of possibility that there's some shaky management happening behind the scenes with this studio or others

Leads have changed (Roughly at that) and shaky management is definitely happening.
That said, this has been going on since the studio's inception 17 years ago, so for all we know this could have been still smoother than most Obsidian titles. What matters is how much time and polish the game will receive towards the end with its development, which is presumably going to be better with Microsoft supporting.

That's such an easy bait for console warriors, and for what - a game we know almost nothing about?
I don't have an Xbox and have no interest in Gamepass or other MS stuff but if they want to start releasing good games outside of Halo (although the verdict is still out there on Infinite), Forza and Gears - I say let them at least show something before piling on. I know nothing about Avowed, or Hellblade 2 or new Fable. I don't even know anything about Starfield! This whole new age of marketing shows us so little of actual gameplay, even some of Sony demos while much more in-depth usually omit the UI, progression systems etc..
I'm much more concerned about speculation and hype based on nothing but studio name and another shoddy CG trailer that is released way early than Avellone comments. Maybe those leads were shuffled for the benefit of the final product cause Deadfire wasn't it (although it seems Grounded has a niche).

Murray lost his brother. And he was design director at The Initiative with plenty of responsibilities.
So he quit and took lesser role at Insomniac (Principal Designer) so he can get his life back on track. It's pretty much obvious when you were reading his twitter at the time of his departure.
His departure was for sure sudden, because he was in dev diary in december and left studio in January

Yes it is a possibility and it is also a possibility that it impact the game positively since we've seen nothing on the game.
Like if a shake up was announced a 343 a few years ago it would've been badly perceived, now in hindsight maybe it should've happened(considering their solo reveal).So let's wait until we see more to know if it is a bad thing or not.

Speculation without anything to back it up. Avellone is just reposting that rpgcodex theory about Carrie Patel somehow replacing Chris Parker in Avowed. It has nothing to do with anyone leaving Obsidian
Now what do their LinkedIn tell about who is replacing who?
I didn't find anything about anyone in senior position leaving Obsidian.

Also what's your point with that Linkedin? Chris Parker has written Game Director on it for years and never updated and Carrie Patel has Game Director in 2019 because she was that for the OW DLC. And she is a Game Director CURRENTLY.
She's not on OW2, because that's Brandon Adler, she's not on Sawyer's Game. So, where please is she Game Director? Avowed. This isn't really a stretch.

By senior position I meant "leads" that Avellone was talking about.
Also this whole Chris Parker-Carrie Patel thing is too much of a speculation to draw doom and gloom conclusions. This definitely does not look like being done by Microsoft either.

I'm not drawing any conclusions. Especially because its part of Obsidian's history. Avellone is being disingenuous there considering he's been part of the same thing (Alpha Protocol). And compared to Alpha Protocol this has the advantage of being backed by Microsoft instead of the toxic relationship they had with SEGA towards the end.
For the actual game we don't know how it will turn out, for the problems yeah that might as well be.
