Star Trek Day 2021 Trailers (Prodigy, Disco S4, Strange New Worlds, Picard)

Lower Decks gave me some laughs last season, but what I've seen of this season (first 3 eps) has been bad.

Nickelodeon CG cartoon show is whatever. I don't watch shows that are explicitly made for kids, but it does look a bit more Star Warsy than Star Treky.

Picard trailer wasn't as bad as I feared but man that "home" line at the end is groanworthy.

I don't get much from the Strange New Worlds meet the cast thing... but like wtf you're just throwing in a Noonien Singh on the crew? That doesn't make much sense. Best case scenario it's a throwaway reference. Worst case scenario is she has a really really stupid plot and just please... let's just not.

Picard: We've got three days in the past (I.E. now) to save the future.

Translation: We've halved our CGI budget for this season.

Can‘t honestly believe they’re Voyage Homing this series. Watching a man a few steps from the grave wandering around Los Angeles doesn’t sound like much fun to me, to be honest.

We’re getting all this stuff, when we could have Star Trek The Third Generation. FML.

They’re making a big deal about how Strange New Worlds is episodic unlike Disco or Picard.

Having to go back to the 21st Century to stop humanity from becoming evil Trumpers is the most Nu Trek storyline one can possibly imagine.

Picard S2 heavy on the original Trek kitchy draping. Had to significantly adjust expectations within the stylings and storyline.

TMP getting a deserved restoration. Picked up my V'ger thirst that Picard seems to have dropped. A fave film, nostalgia heavy and was spooky imaginative stuff for a 70s child. Same spookiness with KHAAAAN, but for different reasons. ESB &The Black Hole came out around that time too. Alien. Hope all Trek gets restored like this, maybe released episodically.
It's funny thinking back that I had Star Trek toys before seeing the show. Spinning teleporter. Saw the original first which went to Stampede wrestling after on TV Saturday schedule. Original cartoon didn't come until later when we got cable.
Might check out an episode or watch a clip of Prodigy for Janeway.

Rebecca Romijn is looking like she's gonna be carrying SNW.

Those first 3-4 seconds are clearly exaggerated. My TMP blu-ray looks tons better than this.

It's not comparing the Blu-Ray. That's the Director's Edition DVD. The Director's Edition was never released on Blu-Ray, thus this 4K restoration of it that's going to take up to 8 months to complete and a shitload of money.

I know but it's misleading, because we have better than the original standard definition available to us now.

What Star Trek needs is not more show.
What they need is someone like Dave Filoni or Jon Favreau.
Someone who keenly understand and love the Franchise and want to do well by the fans because they are themselves invested in the universe.

This person isn't Alex Kurtzman that much is clear.
We also can't trust the actor to do well by their character it seems.
I'm dissapointed in Patrick Stewart , I thought he knew better than this.

I know Khaaaan is the second movie, it is also the best movie, and Khaaan makes ST1 look like a steaming pile of boring garbage.
And one makes two look like a generic low budget naval thriller. See how stupid this is. They're both great in their own ways

Didn't you get the memo? They're pariahs now because Favreau praised Kathleen Kennedy and Filoni said that Ahsoka is a more trained Jedi than Luke. They're now calling it the Filoniverse.

OH ya well if you want to see STUPID get a mirror. How dare you espouse that something you like has value to you over what the value something that i like has to me. IF YOU DON"T AGREE WITH ME ALL THE TIME YOU ARE FULL OF HATE. :messenger_beaming:

Have a nice day fellow star Trek lovers.

Don't think I can stomach another season of Burnham whispering and crying.

All you need to know about Kurtzman Trek, a loved character Suru, is booted out of the chair to make way for one everyone can't stand.

But sign me up for 4K hardcore XXX filth.

Picard was pretty disappointing. Started well enough but the writers ended up doing whatever seemed to come to their minds. They tried to be philosophical but fell flat.

I am happy for the fans who enjoy the new shows, they're all over Twitter, but I feel let down by all of the new stuff. I keep giving them a chance and it keeps being consistently poor and/or just plain stupid.

Oh they're bringing back Picard? This outta be more thoughtful and insightful ..... nope, same garbage.

An animated show? This should be funny..... not funny.

And so on, and so on. At least with the new movies one can turn off their brain for an hour and a half and be entertained with serviceable sci-fi action dressed up in a Star Trek setting.

Pedantic, but Picard wouldn't say "I am WAY too old for this bs".

It's like making Stannis speak slang.
