I thought Baldur was unique, so I like this too. I thought Thor’s sons looked typical and boring though.

Worthiness was not a requirement in the myths to use Mjolnir, it was a matter of being strong enough to lift it. Thor was just barely strong enough, so he needed a magic belt to help him lift it. Also needed special gloves to protect his hands from the heat of the hammer.

Amusingly enough, Thor's sons did not need the belt to lift Mjolnir.

What a ridiculous world we live in, and what a ridiculous thread. Some people should disconnect every once in a while and go for a walk, or do any sane, healthy activity, instead of complaining on the internet over the most trivial stuff.
It is just a game, and that is their take on a mythological being, not a 3D representation of Martin Luther King. Even if one were to want to express their opinion on this version of Thor, they would need to evaluate the overall script, the character's related arc and events, the lines he utters, the voice work brining him to life, so to speak...aka, one needs to play the game first.

From this, the design make sense, I said this before in my pervious post, in GOW Gods are not portrayed as this perfect being but rather as more of tyrants.

Beautiful piece for sure, but it wouldn't really gel with the art direction in Norse realm in GOW. This is a super romanticized depiction.

LOL Thor is a Warrior God not a weightlifter.

Thor was the only one strong enough to even lift Mjölnir. Dude even needed a belt to wield it, so he's quite literally a weightlifter. In the real mythos, this whole "being worthy" was basically just being strong enough to hold it.
If he couldn't lift the weight, he could never have obtained the hammer in the first place.

This is a 19th century painting from when there were strong nationalist movements happening across Europe.

But, yes, the original manuscripts do describe him largely as he appears in the game. You also see it in the comic at the top of this page.

The Swastika is used as a symbol since the Neolithic and it recurs from the Germanic Iron Age to the Viking Age period in Scandinavia. The Swastika on that belt has absolutely nothing to do with the third Reich.

Terrible design. Funny how people talk about it being "realistic" when Kratos looks the way he does. They are doing this on purpose so when your bad ass protagonist beats him like a drum you have a better time doing so, knowing he isn't half the bad ass you are. That is of course unless the strong female character doesn't step in to handle the situation before Kratos does.

My only problem with the design is the chest. If you look at the pictures that you posted those guys have more body fat, but they also have huge chest muscles. The Thor design in Ragnarok looks like he's just been sitting on the couch eating potato chips most the time, cuz he's got saggy tits.
