Bought 2 at launch last year about 2 weeks apart without too much trouble (one for me, one for my nephew).

Haven't seen any PS5s readily available in stores yet.

I did try for about an hour about a month ago to snag one online and was able to get it ready to buy for one of my other nephews, but backed out because he didn't want it.

If you try - there are ways to get one - just have to be persistent and put in the time.

I have a few of the stock notification twitter accounts followed but even if I click on the link right after it's posted, it always bugs out so I assume that I just have to accept I'm never going to beat bots unless I learn how to use bots myself. Plus, it's not like there are loooads of games I want to play on PS5 anyway (maybe Ratchet & Clank that's about it) so I'm not bothered anymore.

Plus if you want to see Sony's real next-gen stuff you have to stop buying their consoles (let them feel the heat and make them actually bring out the big guns).

Yoir not really missing out man to be fair. I wouldn't worry about it until God of War Ragnarok, but even then its a PS4 game. Unless you REALLY want Demons Souls Remake, Ratchet or Returnal, there is no real reason, or obviously the addition of SSD and much faster older games on your new system for convenience and a massive quality of life change.

Yep. I have 3 PS5s, all collecting dust. There just isnt any Game Tom play.

Where I live supermarkets don't sell electronics stuff Pretty much confined to either online or big electronics stores (which mainly just do lotteries exclusive to customers who are X-level members or who have the store credit card or something).

Actually you can probably buy them in stores in Poland right now. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and it was from major new shipment of new models (hot ).

series x I have seen +10 times on stores, now also difficult to get, I could order one and get it in 2-4 weeks they say.

Series s have been on stores since the launch.

Switch have been on stores from day one.

I would not count switch or series S as current gen high end consoles, so basically current gen consoles arent available, which is weird situation.

Why assume the worst in people? Launch was a completely different scenario. If he is not following sites where bitching about PS5 stock is prevalent then he will not have a clue about the current status.

PS5s are still hard to get, which is kind of crazy since they have outsold PS4s at this point. They will obviously get worse with the holidays approaching. But there are no real must have games that you can't get on PC. I personally liked Ratchet, but I could have picked it up for cheap used next year and had just as much fun.

Bottom line, if you get one, scalp it to rich parents who for some reason didn't buy it last year. Then buy it again when there are enough games to justify the purchase. For some, learning how to get a PS5 without bots and scoring a few might be kind of fun. It's just gambling with your time and is somewhat gamelike. Just get some notifications set up by finding a couple of discords.

I would agree as there are very few PS5 only games worth playing right now.

For me though I skipped out on the PS4 and XBO, so I have plenty of games to play that I could probably get for cheap too. I know I already have Horizon and Ratchet on my account because they gave that away free some time back. I also bought some games when they were on sale. I would have bought a PS4 and wait until the end of the generation to get a PS5, but the chip shortage issues made the PS4 kinda hard to find and expensive too, so might as well go for a PS5.
