Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a dark fantasy survival RTS where you must illuminate, build and defend humanity’s last bastion against hordes of Nightmares. Launching into Early Access on Steam this October.

Set in the remnants of a kingdom consumed by a deadly fog, you decide. Will you hide in the light? Or take back your world.

  • 'SwarmTech' allowing for over 70,000 swarming AI units on screen at any time
  • Build defenses against thousands of enemies during Death Nights
  • Day & Night transitions, expand by day, hunt by night
  • Unique Heroes to level up and micro-manage to gain an edge against the dark
  • Living Death Fog system that grows and recoils from the light
  • Randomized Malices & Blessings to make every survival unique
  • Multi-faceted Skill Tree system to progress through for your Units
  • Wandering Elite Nightmares that may ambush your party and drop precious Dark Essence
  • Horror and Embolden based status effects which may curse or aid your troops
  • Special Nightmare units, Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths that test your combat skills

Was going to say this has come out of nowhere but then I saw it's just early access for now.

Looks interesting though, like a different take on they are billions.

Not even a big RTS fan in general but this looks at very least interesting.
Especially the city builder/tower defense aspect of it makes it sound fun for my taste.

Age of Empires meets Days Gone with hordes of night monsters, cool :D

kidding aside, it's interesting. I'll stay tuned.

Looks awesome.
I love these RTS games with lots of units on screen, and the concept of surviving massive monster hordes looks fun.

I don't buy early access, but I'll definitely keep and eye out for this one when it fully launches.

And it reminding me of They Are Billions is the reason I'm going to wishlist this game, I put 250 hours into TaB, and this looks like it will expand on the concept.
