Been really enjoying this game with my friend. We wish it was split screen though. We both sit on the couch taking turns. We aren't very good but we have fun. This game is great for aliens fans and those that like this genre

That's nice to have in terms of variety, but the gameplay looked a bit underwhelming. The animation for walking with that shield just looks dumb/stiff and the abilities are pretty weak looking.
The game will surely continue to come with reminders of the AA budget, limited team, resources, etc. Maybe something they can refine in the future? That'd be cool. More serious things at hand ATM though.

How does Intel work? Are they all in the level and I just can't find more than a few, are they linked to specific classes (ie each class gets 3 per campaign), or do you get more in earlier levels are you progress farther in the overall story? I haven't found more than 4-5 in each campaign ( it gotten to the 4th yet) and none in the main ship.

So the Intel is in set spots across all the levels. You reminded me I still have to get a few. There are videos and walkthroughs pointing them out if you're interested! I spotted quite a few one my own cause I was searching the entire level every time. But that was when I realized some were hidden pretty good. 👀

WEAPONS
Starting with this update, all weapons will level up as intended. Up to this point, all level-based benefits were being applied immediately, despite the weapon not having unlocked them yet.

So that we don’t negatively affect current players, we will be setting all currently owned weapons to max level for all character accounts created up to the implementation of this patch. Enjoy your 4 star guns!
Due to the above change, along with assessing live progression speeds for weapons, we will also be lowering the XP requirements for each weapon rank. Guns will now reach max rank (4 stars) with the same amount of XP it used to take to reach 3 stars.

AUDIO
Fix for audio issue with flamethrowers being used on players and bots at the same time.
Fix for issue where sfx were not playing when collecting First Aid Kits.
Fix for issue where all player sfx would be missing when leaving a queued mission.
Fix for issue where VO of Intel and mission Ready Up screen play simultaneously.
Fix for music issues in Campaign Four
Fix audio issue where the revival recipient would also play the “revival” VO.
Fixed a bug where automatic weapons’ gunfire sound could sometimes get stuck on a loop

COMBAT
Fixed a bug where Hoenikker could be “insta-killed” on difficulties that allow for insta-kills (Extreme, Insane)
Trauma Station: Hook up error message and widget flash for attempting to use when out of energy.
Fixed a bug where charge based abilities didn't benefit from Cooldown Reduction Perks.

ENVIRONMENT
Fixed multiple places across the game where players could get stuck in the world geometry.
Fixed multiple places across the game where players traverse, but enemies could not reach them.

UI
Added descriptions to currency in mission wrap-up screen.
Added additional, specific “rewards earned” messaging.
Additional credits added to the Credits screen.
Added specific message on Campaign screen if a map has not fully downloaded yet.
Updated translations.

GENERAL
Fixed a bug that was preventing players from unlocking Horde Mode and the Recon Kit after completing the campaign prior to this patch.
Fixed a bug that could prevent progression in Horde Mode.
Fixed a bug where some players were not being awarded the Specialist Elite Kit Skin appropriately upon reaching Rank 8. Affected players who had already reached Rank 8 should now have the respective Skin unlocked automatically upon logging in after the implementation of this patch.
Fixed bug where wireframe shapes would sometimes appear around players.
Achievements - "Nukes, Knives, AND Sharp Sticks" will now properly unlock after attaching all three attachments instead of only one.
General performance improvements
General bug fixing and stability improvements.
The Knife Trick Emote is now available at SSgt Park’s Armory.

I got a handful of cards that just give bonuses with no negative effects. Probably wasting them leveling up my doc and tech instead of the phalanx or whatever but as a solo player I don't really care. Seems like level III is the money for when you start getting quality unlocks so I'm trying to get the scrub classes to that level.

Finally beat campaign 4, good grief that was intense. Tried horde but I think I need to stock up on ammo mods or sentry guns for that.

Anyone prefer the mini gun over the smart gun? A bit more damage but longer spool up time and the muzzle flash obscures half the screen! Think I prefer the smart gun but maybe I just need to play around with mods to see if any help with targeting. The ease of the smart gun in clearing xeno swarms is not to be underestimated.

Note: This patch introduced an unintended issue with weapon accuracy. We are working on fixing this as soon as possible. Apologies for the trouble.

We have implemented the following changes.

PC

KITS, WEAPONS, AND COMBAT

  • Phalanx:
    • Increase to the Shield ability blocking angle, making it easier to block attacks from enemies that are not directly in front of the shield.
    • Change to the Shield ability so that it no longer easily gets interrupted by being stumbled.
  • Doc:
    • Fix for the Doc’s "Readiness" perk so that it now properly grants improvements to Ability Recharge Speed.

VISUAL

  • Improvements to ultra-widescreen support.
  • Adjustment to the L59 Minigun’s muzzle flash, reducing it’s brightness to a level similar to the Smartgun.

UI

  • Fix for instances where the “Spectate” and “Abandon Mission” options failed to display correctly upon death.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Fix to some instances of Achievements not being granted upon collection of an item. This fix will also include the “All My Personal Friends” Achievement for leveling up 30 weapons to four stars.

GENERAL

  • Fix for an issue where the “Delayed Recovery” Challenge Card could interfere with Ability Recharge Speeds in unintended ways.
  • Fixed issue where the “Spectate” or “Abandon Mission” button might not appear in 2 player co-op missions.

I give them credit….they are quick at fixing things
We still don't have a proper shoulder cam swap though...
3x

Or a way to track campaign progress.

I wouldn't mind the ability to trailer the base marines look to each class. At least I don't think you can change the gender, facial features, etc for each class, right?

How long before we get goofy hats and silly eye wear? Or the ability to make yourself look like a combat synth?

I wouldn't mind being able to trick out my AI synths a little, they are too drab and I often pop off a few rounds at them out of surprise. They need some hunter orange vests :p

Game really does need a quick match option though.....painfully long waits on some levels when you just wanna grind xp
Yeah, they're looking into it apparently. Hopefully it comes sooner than later.
is the maxed out weapons thing a bug? Will it be reversed for some players?
So, it's NOT a bug, just a bizarre choice IMO. It will never be reversed. I think it's the stance they decided to take so that players could focus on the new weapons that come with every release that require leveling.

We have implemented the following changes.

KITS

  • Doc:
    • The “Trauma Station” Ability now regains energy when any player picks up an Aid Kit, instead of only granting energy to the specific Doc player that picks it up. If there is more than one Doc in the team, the energy is split between them.
    • The “Trauma Station” Ability Replacers (Painkiller Station and Suppression Station) can now be placed down even when out of energy.
    • Change to the HUD so that it now displays a notification showing the amount of energy replenished when picking up an Aid Kit, making it easier to tell when the “Trauma Station” Ability has been recharged.

PERKS

  • The Doc’s “Field Medic” Perk and its related Perks have had their range increased to 7m (previously 6m.)
  • The Demolisher’s “Rampage” Perk should now work correctly with flamethrowers.
  • The Demolisher’s "Assault & Battery" Perk now only grants up to 50% cooldown reduction (previously 100%.) This Perk has also had its tooltip updated to reflect this change.

WEAPONS

  • Fixed an issue with Special Ammo Consumables where they could be erroneously applied to the N79 EVA Laser Pistol. Attempting to do so will now display a message informing you that Special Ammo is not available for this weapon.

CHALLENGE CARDS

  • The “Stuck Magazines” Challenge Card should no longer affect AI companions.
  • The “Tactical Cam” Challenge Card should now correctly affect all players in a party.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Fixed a number of places in the game where players could get stuck in the world geometry.
  • Fixed a number of places in the game where players could traverse, but enemies could not reach them.

UI

  • Fixed a situation where the Doc’s UI for the “Trauma Station” Ability’s energy bar could display an inaccurate value.

GENERAL

  • Fixed a situation where kills with flamethrowers would not be counted towards the progress of a Tactical Opportunity.
  • Intel items should now be able to be properly pinged with the correct message.
  • Fixed a number of situations where more players than intended were able to group up.

It looks like the community is really giving them props for implementing Quickplay so quickly, and they should! Really, the turn around they've been doing with their small time is pretty damn impressive.

So is this officially dead now? Not found a single player all weekend. Even with quick play. 😐

I’ve been able to get a few games in here and there without issue. But in the end this is a B-tier game and tons of stuff has come out since (including other coop shooters) so it wouldn’t surprise me if the player pop is way down.

A map editor would help. Allow punters to upload their own horde maps at least.

Cold Iron Studios have officially revealed the Aliens Fireteam Elite roadmap, with many new changes and content set to come in the near future. Head on down below for the complete roadmap that the developers have set for Year 1 of the game.

Aliens Fireteam Elite Roadmap

The studio also shared a description of what’s to come before the end of the year, as you can check out below:

You can look forward to Season 2 before the end of the year! With it we will introduce a New Game Mode, as well as a New Feature, Weapons, Attachments, Challenge Cards, and a variety of cosmetics! If you enjoyed Horde Mode then we’re sure you will enjoy our next new game modes. You can expect twists to the session length, goals, and the tools you will have available, as well as the cool new environments they will be set in.
Our focus is first on bringing quality of life improvements to the game that will add more enjoyment to the game’s existing content. These new features shouldn’t drastically alter the way the game is currently played, but we hope you will greatly enjoy them all the same . We’ll share more details as we approach the release of each of these free Season updates, so stay frosty and keep an eye out.

The grenade launcher for the pulse rifle better be one of those attachments or weapons!

Game Pass is good, hopefully it'll bring more people in. Not having cross play with steam too is a bummer though.

Any word on what point defense mode is?

Also am I the only one that just could not care less about any weapons that aren't the pulse rifle, smart gun, and flamethrower? hahaha. The others may as well not exist to me, I have no desire to use them.
