I think Bayonetta will be the better game and it will probably review better.

As for sales I don't know. Bayonetta has the advantage of being backed by Nintendo, but at the same time the franchise hasn't historically sold too well (though looking at Bayo2 sales is a bit unfair since it launched on a system that a whole 4 people owned).
Project Eve isn't an established IP and isn't from a well known dev (at least in the west) but it does have the multiplatform advantage.

Still not quite convinced that these cool chinese / korean games are more than graphical tech demos as of now. I can't recall a single game output from that region that blew the lid off the gaming world. While Platinum games, well yea..

Korea has made some games with really cool visuals and combat, the problem is that 99% of the time they turn them into grindy and repetitive MMO's.
That's the exciting part about project EVE, it looks to be cool combat and visuals of Korean games without all the grindy shit.

Bayonetta 3 looks pretty censored to me already in that teaser.
Because that's Cereza

Yes, because Cereza grows up to be the Bayonetta we know, that's the story, they are the same person.
They're not same just like Loptr and Loptr are not the same:

You need to play the games again and pay attention this time.

according to wikipedia bayonetta 2 sold 400k copies on switch and 300k on WiiU during its first 9 weeks on each system

as reference another "similar game": nier automata sold 1.5 millions between PS4 and PC in a similar time frame

its important to consider that both games bayoneta2 and nier automata continued selling for a while so the end sales and if there was a time it sold more is not being considered, I dont have much data for bayonetta 2, only for nier automata that sold 4 millions after 2 years

also its important to consider that bayonetta 2 wasnt as popular in sales charts and couldn't maintain its position for much time compared to nier, this is not necessarily an indicator as each game released along different games, both games while similar not necessarily will attract the same people

with all that considered I think project eve, while a new IP and who knows if its a good game, will sell more just for the amount of platforms where it will release, in the time frame of 2 months, bayonetta 3 doesnt look as good as bayonetta 2 in my opinion so I dont think it will surpass its predecessor in the first 9 weeks/ 2 months selling in just one system, I think a good chunk of the buyers of the previous system will wait for a discount, of course anything can happen who knows what games they compete for sales by the time they release

bayonetta sold like 2 m on all platforms and bayonetta 2 sold like 1.3m switch/wiiu, bayonetta 3 will probably sell 1m-1.5m

Bayonetta is a stablished IP from a well known developer. Project Eve is a new IP from a first time Developer. Just use common sence.

I do hope, if Project Eve ends up being as good as it looks, to be hugelly sucessfull as well.

Honestly?I think it will be closer than people think.

But I will say that Project Eve has the better chance, assuming it manages to be a high quality game.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that Bayonetta 3 will sell well.Actually, I do think that Bayo 3 will be the most successful Bayo game from the franchise and it has a solid chance of reaching 2 million units.

But I don't know.I think that Eve has the advantage of being "the newer thing", if that makes sense. It seems slick, has a cool setting, Sony seems to be putting its weight behind it, and the PS4 clearly has an audience for these sorts of game, as DMC V clearly has shown.

If nothing else, I think that my gut feeling is telling me that Eve will win this, though I do think Bayo 3 deserves the win more.

Time will tell.

Switch graphics are becoming so poor it really affects gameplay. In Project Eve you can actually see what's going on, in the Bayo 3 trailer you have to squint your eyes.

It must be bad being just as old as Switch's tech and have eyes so bad you can't see anything 3ft. away from your face.

In Japan, Bayonetta 2 sold approximately 39,000 units in its first week of release,[65] much fewer than were sold of the original Bayonetta in its debut week.[66] After its third week of release, Bayonetta 2 had sold approximately 50,000 units in Japan.[67] The title was the seventh best-selling game in the UK in its first week of release,[68] but was absent from the Top 40 best-seller list in its second week.[69]

The Nintendo Switch version of Bayonetta 2 sold 9,532 copies within its first week on sale in Japan, which placed it at number 14 on the all format sales chart.[70] While sales have not been fully disclosed, by March 2018, Nintendo confirmed the Switch version had sold 400,000 copies during its first nine weeks, compared to the 300,000 copies the Wii U version sold during the same period.[71]

I'm talking overall sales including digital. that wiki info is outdated and talking about the first weeks.

games tend to sell most of its sales in their first weeks, after that its slow with spikes when there are discounts, the first weeks are important as usually there are no discount or other factors that may affect the comparison, a time frame is important it gives context and its more fair, if we dont take it into account then project Eve even if its not a good game is going to eventually sell more than bayonetta 3 as it will be available in platforms that will be selling after switch is no longer in the market such as PC and with discounts that will be counted like normal price it will be still available for purchase even after a decade its uncertain if bayonetta 3 will be in that position as its a comparison of popularity time frame is important, for example you say the first bayonetta sold 2 millions, that game its available still for purchase, I can buy right now in steam for a little more than 2 dollars(75% discount) so you are not really talking about final sales as its uncertain if thousands of people will buy the game during a year or in the future

wrong. Depending on a games legs, it can sell millions of copies after its launch.

Your citing the first week sales of Bayo 2 on the wiiU in japan, as if that is relevant. Do you have more current numbers?

I'm telling him Bayonetta 2 sold like 1.5m wiiu/switch

it can sell indefinitely as long as is available, I already mentioned it

I cited the first 9 weeks as is a reasonable time frame

"Nintendo confirmed the Switch version had sold 400,000 copies during its first nine weeks, compared to the 300,000 copies the Wii U version sold during the same period.[71]"

are we going to wait years to determine what will be more successful or a fair time frame is enough for OP question or any game comparison in general? I dont know how old are you but the first weeks in sales are usually what is used to determine if a game becomes popular or not, sure are cases where is not the case that is why I said usually

I get the impression some people want to declare a winner without a competition, I dont have a horse in the race I am not making a bet or something but the comparison is interesting except it appears to trigger some people , at the end of the day you can buy both games, but I am only buying them if there is a big discount ;) I just think Project: EVE will sell more just for releasing in more systems, as I said earlier anything can happen if project eve game is too bad of course wont surpass bayonetta 3 in the first 9 weeks/2 months and that is assuming bayonetta3 will be a good game something we actually dont know

It all depends on the marketing. Bayonetta has never sold well. Project Eve has a chance if the company making it puts some marketing dollars behind it.

Picked Bayonetta since it’s an established franchise and pretty much guaranteed to be of high quality.

Could go either way honestly. Pretty torn on this. Bayo is an established franchise with a beloved character. And Project Eve is a pretty game with a fanservice character. Hope both sell well.

The days of Bayonetta taking her clothes off are over. Her hair powers always removed her clothes(even regular combo enders) since they're made of her hair. That fact that they didn't in that trailer tells the tale.
Her powers will now come out of her pubic hair. #believeinkamiya

I don't believe in Kamiya. Actions speak louder than words. We know how her powers work, he went into great detail about them and his vision for the character during interviews for the first game. We've seen how her powers work summoning familiars constructed from her hair through two games now. Kamiya has gone soft. I'm still going to play it but I'm calling a spade a spade.
