Great game for Halloween season. Definitely gonna get this. It's one of the few games that have caused me to keep my 360 around but I hate messing with my 360 cause it's old as shit and is a pain to get the disc tray open. Gonna be so convenient to have this on the PS4.

Frankly I dunno why I was expecting something decent of IGN. Their review is cringe and idiotic as fuck.

I've honestly never understood the aspect of watching other people play video games.

Depends. I for once watch parts of it to find if theres any kinda of modification that I won't like. Who knows...nowadays you have to be very cautious. A change could terribly affect your enjoyment.

I like speedruns; seeing someone with more time than me use the most optimal strategy to beat a game is interesting.

Watching some obnoxious chode like Markiplier pretend to be scared/excited about whatever flavor of the month game is out though, is pointless. Let’s players you’re just supposed to watch for their “personalities” but most of them are annoying and aimed at teenage audiences.

I love the original. One of my most replayed games of all time.

This port is not good so far

Some visual glitches (lighting flickering during the boat scene), they botched the atmosphere, Alan model is not good, 30 fps cutscenes, terrible sound quality ...

I'm so fucking tired of lazy "remasters" of amazing games. Return to Arkham, Bioshock, now this.

Sure its not terrible, but this is by no means a definitive way to play the game

I would rather have a 4k/60 version of the original game, honestly

So I was playing through the opening and I noticed a QR code that wasn't there in the original game. I scanned it and it took me here.

The video was uploaded 4 months ago but I didn't see anyone talk about it so I wonder if these were private until now. Is this the first official tease for a sequel? Since they seem to take place after the game's climax.

Edit: It seems Remedy added QR codes to the original PC version, but I wonder if those took you somewhere else rather than this YouTube Vision series of videos

How did they birch the atmosphere? Can you expand on that?

Bit worried about the sound quality after hearing the same dev d3t’s Shenmue I&II HD remaster sound quality on a 5.1 setup (voices seems to have been compressed to heck and then over
amplified which causes the sound to appear both muffled and clip at the same time)…

It seems like deciding between this remaster and the Xbox 360 version on XSX’s BC support is a much more difficult choice than I thought… Mass Effect ended up being the same too to be fair though.

Watch the comparison made by ElAnalistadeBits on Youtube (cant post here, the channel is banned here I think)

It will become pretty obvious. Seems like some effects are missing. It has a very different vibe.

Alan's jacket actually look worse than the 360 version in terms of texture, lacking all of the detail. It also has way less self shadows.

The game as a whole lacks contrast, by a lot

And the sound is pretty bad, yes

I would play the BC version. You mentioned Mass Effect: that remaster was WAY better than this one. Not even the same league.

I watched a couple of streams of this today.
It's definitely too bright, sharp, and detailed. Not much opportunity for scares when nothing is coming "out of the murky dark" any more.
On the other hand, I tried my 360 copy a couple of weeks ago through BC. It's rough. Very.
The original PC release of this game is the best way to play it (although that's also brighter than the 360 version).

Can't you just like...turn down brightness? Lol

you better not watch any sport, because if you do someone should give you a hypocrite custom tag lol
Contrary to single player games, playing sports at a pro level VS other athletes at pro level is not something most people can just do on a whim.

I think its RT that does this, metro also had this issue. Completely kills the atmosphere.

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Funny I remember people comparing this to Silent Hill 2, some even said it was better.
Now it's on all Platforms....a lot negative comments..🤔

I just started the game, already getting headache within first few minutes. The camera setup and movement is giving me a bit of nausea :(, I was so looking forward to the remaster since I never owned an Xbox360 before.

Don’t believe any of the bullshit complaints on here

TOO DETAILED 😂😂😂 Now that’s considered a bad thing?! Fuck off 🤣
Havent said anything about "too much detail" on my criticism

Lack of self shadows, switching textures for some with less detail, lacking effects and weird models is something that you can notice easily if you arent blind (or "playing" the game on Youtube). Or deaf, regarding the poor audio.

Cant understand the reaction from some of you. I dont have an axe to grind here. I wanted this remaster to be good.

Is it so hard to imagine that the same company that made Mafia 2 remaster have fucked up again?

This is a poor fucking job. Just like the Arkham remasters. Or Bioshock. Or Mafia 2. And so many others, unfortunately.

Its playable, but the definitive Alan Wake experience this is not.

PS: oh yeah, and the cutscenes are encoded at 30 fps (with stuttering) at a really low quality. Lots of artifacts from low bandwidth
