Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection launches on January 28, 2022 on PS5

Is Lost Legacy better than UC4? That game legitimately put me to sleep.
LL is more in line with 2 and 3 with the set pieces and not overly long adventure than it is UC4. A little more light hearted, with a bittersweet moment. I enjoyed it, even if Nadine felt like a throwaway seemingly only there for "girl power" moments and to belittle Sam with Chloe, while still needing his masculinity in certain parts tho for them to advance. :pie_roffles:

Come to think of it, maybe it was purposefully written that way. Irony.

Also, they apparently delisted the standalone versions and you can only buy them in a pricier bundle?

Yeah but according to people in this thread this is an insult.

Basically paying $10 you get to upgrade a game and get another game for free, just as long as you own one copy of either Lost Legacy or Uncharted 4.

More like an insult if you own both.

they can't even hit 4k60 smh

So you think devs should do extra work for free years later after their game was completed?
Ofcourse, don't you know if you order a food from restaurant and 5 years later they decide to update their catalog you are entitled to try it for free? Or if you buy a ticket to the amusement park and wheb they make a renovation 10 years later you get free ticket to see the new attractions? Only gamers think that a company releasing a product with whatever upgrades they are entitled to get it free.

Or a movie you own on DVD comes out on Blu-ray, you should be able to get the Blu-ray for free right? Then when it comes out on Ultra HD Blu-ray, you should get that for free as well

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Yes.

Their development costs on this will easily be absorbed by the fact that these two games will survive yet another console generation and tons of people who didn't buy them previously will now have the opportunity to buy them for full price.

10$ upgrade sounds ok for me.
No way I am going back to 1080p. Not playing on 48" lg tv right in my face at my desk. It's blurry crap
It's an atmospheric single player game with amazing graphics and fantastic motion blur so I am probably going to go for 4k 30fps.

But why there is no 40fps or 60fps 4k checkerboard modes is crazy... straight 1440p 60fps is a joke. Should at least have checkerboard.

I will pick up the ps5 upgrade. I do have 3080 but on ps5 probably hdr will work better, 3d audio on pulse 3d and dualsense stuff

10.23 / 1.84 = 5.55x.

The IPC gains are around 50% from GCN 1.0 to Polaris to RDNA. So yes, you are looking at 15 tflops which is 8x but we have simply not seen those IPC gains materialize in games so far. I am guessing the memory bandwidth limitations are a factor or perhaps 4k 60 fps simply requires more horsepower than just a 1:1 increase in tflops or raw GPU horsepower. Someone posted a graph a few weeks ago that showed how going from 1080p 60 fps to 4k 60 fps requires more than 4x GPU raw power.

Oh you're definitely right that 1080/30 to 4k/60 hasn't materialised. It's a bit of a mystery I guess.

Similar to U4 on PS4 Pro which also didn't offer CB and had a bit blurry upscalling instead. Maybe CB doesn't play well with their engine or something.

Yes, you supported then once half a decade ago with your money. That is enough for them, it's anti consumer and unethical to monetize a product worth months of work.
Fuck them, Fuck them, how dare they.

I'm guessing the crappy textures will make the game look like a blurry mess even in 4k.

I replayed it on ps5 last march when I got my new tv.
It looks better than any new games... but 1440p is pretty blurry. I was fine with 30fps though surprisingly.

I’ll most likely be jumping in for another play-through - great games, both of them. I haven’t played either for ages.

What other games were charged for a frame rate boost?

The Last of Us 2
Horizon Zero Dawn
Ghost of Tsushima
God of War
Infamous second son
Until Dawn
Killzone Shadow Fall
Days Gone
Ratchet and clank
Gran Turismo Sport
Knack 2 😜

All free upgrades. Not sure why this one isn't free

My only doubt is that I have U4 physical and Lost Odyssey digital, hopefully there won't be issues to upgrade.

To add another wrench in the puzzle is what if you also had added the free Plus U4 game before to that physical copy of yours as well. Hopefully, Sony will be able to sort all of that out. But I have my doubts that the upgrade will be $10 for both. It's more likely that it's $10 each since they will only be able to detect your physical or digital copies one at a time when you booth the game up.

It's not a frame rate boost.
It's like Ghost of Tsushima (3D audio, Dualsense, SSD fast loadings, different graphical modes).

Seems like it's sufficient to have bought a single game to get the upgrade.

They did the same thing with Ghost of Tsushima. Cant buy the non-directors cut of the game so no cheap option. Must pay the full $70.

Then sell your PS5!
I'm literally about to throw my PS5 in the garbage.

Because it broke (won't boot) and it's out of warranty already. And also I barely played it. And I couldn't even find a replacement if I wanted one.

Remaster Golden Abyss already!

Amazing game. The only problem with it is that the touch, camera and movement gimmicks makes it sucks sometimes.

This collection is just U4 and ULL?

I know they won't do it, but I really hope they split the two games for the PC release.
It would be nice if I can just get TLL for a discounted price since I already played UC4.

Nice, I own them both but I’ve been waiting for the inevitable PS5 upgrade to play them. $10 is okay for 2 games.

Last Guardian
Shadow of Collosus
Dreams
Gravity Rush 2
Bloodborne
The Order

Not many first party PS4 games left that require patches or upgrades. Gravity Rush 2 will probably get ignored as it's too niche, same with The Order. Bloodborne will no doubt get a remaster at some point. Dreams I think will get a remaster when PS VR2 comes out. Unpatched version of Last Guardian already exists 5hats 60fps they just need to unlock frame rate like God of War. Shadow of Collosus has a performance mode and a quality mode they just need to combine those into one. I think if a ICO remaster or remake ever gets announced they will path those games for marketing purposes.

Should be a free upgrade. Not paying $10 for a res boost and cutting mp.

Should be happy with pc sales since that will open up a whole new fanbase. No need to nickel and dime loyal fans.

You should also say that when you own a car and a new model comes out, you don't get it for free, complete the cringe.
What new model, you can buy a brand new car and couple months later they can make a revision in the cabin, but you don't get nothing. It's a new product, but real word example don't work here because the games are some strange thing that if you buy once you are entitled to any new rerelease of the product.
