Saw this in the blog post:

"Performance Mode – We carried over the high framerate PS4 patch with Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate. "

What is it carrying over again? "High Framerate PS4 patch"? That was a thing?

They have delisted the base game?

Also, they apparently delisted the standalone versions and you can only buy them in a pricier bundle?

No, the base games are still on the store:

Ah......ok. Yeah, I just tried and it says "Can't purchase". lol....so weird, Sony.

Well, at least there are millions of physical copies out there, but forcing digital game buyers to get the collection is needlessly heavy handed.

Considering there charging for this its a bit disappointing they did not add some more visual upgrades like a realtime global illumination system.

Fair enough. Better than I expected out of Sony.

Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy already have real time global illumination on PS4.

Steam Page is up but the images they use have been captured on PS5.
Can't wait to have more info on the PC version hoping we get DLSS like GOW but I doubt it.

Lots of non PS5 owners crying about $10

Check me on this.....

"Players who purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle have the option to pay $10/€10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. The upgrade will be available starting at launch on January 28, 2022."

So someone could have just bought the UC4 and not TLL and they can upgrade for $10? If that is true then that is a good deal for those who only have one of the games.

I got some screenshots from ps5 replay this year. HDR cnverted to sdr so not showing full glory.
Imo looks amazing still.

It still looks great in screens and YouTube videos, but I found that on a 4k tv it pales compared to PS5 games and better looking PS4 games like God of War.

it's blurry. Feels lower res than 1440p it's running at.
Mabye new 4k mode will be good

Maybe that would be too much for PS5. The game is 1440P at 30 fps on PS4 Pro. 4K at 60 fps would be over 4 times the pixels per second, while PS5 is only 2.4 more powerful than Pro.

I'm even a bit surprised there's a 120 fps mode at all. Is this the first game which is 30 fps on last gen consoles and has s 120 fps mode for current gen? All of the 120 fps games for current gen consoles that I know of were 60 fps on last gen machines.
Destiny 2 comes to mind. This was a 30fps title even on the last-gen Pro consoles, and it got a 4x (120fps) boost on current-gen.

I'm not surprised though. Base PS4 (the console with the slowest Jag) to PS5 CPU should be over a 4x improvement. And Naughty Dog's engine was already designed for 60fps when they transitioned over from PS3 to PS4, they're incredibly strong at parallelizing the workload across all available CPU cores using fibers.

And physical owners of either Uncharted game can also upgrade for $10 and get both games.

Not that bad of a deal.

Seems divisive on here, but I enjoyed UC4 for what it was. Definitely pushed some boundaries in storytelling and action.

You're most likely getting the best possible version of the game on the PS5, so I'd say it should be worth it.
I prefer narrative driven games to gameplay and UC4 was up my alley. Loved Lost Legacy too. For me UC4 et LL are 3rd and 2nd in the series, UC2 being first.

Im talking about something akin to metro exodus enhanced implementation.
A lot of UC4s is baked.

Yeah I'm confused by this as well.

About the 60fps mode, it's probably 4K Checkerboard while the 30 fps in Native and the 120 fps is 1080p.
Why they don't say it? Probably some dumb PR reasons.

Or it's 1080p/60 but then...

It's most likely 1440p60 and native 4K30.

Exactly and there would be almost no reason to use real-time GI anyway since there's no dynamic time of day. It would help characters blend into the environment a little better though.

It's been a dream of mine and I'm sure many others to play this game in 60 FPS, ever since they released their first trailer for it. I'm pumped for this.

A £10/$10 upgrade if you own a copy of the game already so it seems like a fair deal, considering we're also get improvements in load times as well which was a killer on the PS4.

10.23 / 1.84 = 5.55x.

The IPC gains are around 50% from GCN 1.0 to Polaris to RDNA. So yes, you are looking at 15 tflops which is 8x but we have simply not seen those IPC gains materialize in games so far. I am guessing the memory bandwidth limitations are a factor or perhaps 4k 60 fps simply requires more horsepower than just a 1:1 increase in tflops or raw GPU horsepower. Someone posted a graph a few weeks ago that showed how going from 1080p 60 fps to 4k 60 fps requires more than 4x GPU raw power.
Could you please post the link to that graph? Just curious.

No, the base games are still on the store:

I also noticed the "PS4 patch" thing.
My guess is they are probably going to do the same as Ghost of Tsushima and add a 60fps patch, but did not want to mention to sell the remaster.
Maybe even throw a "people asked, we will do it" :p

edit: those links also have "PS4" and "PS5" tags now.

Ofcourse, don't you know if you order a food from restaurant and 5 years later they decide to update their catalog you are entitled to try it for free? Or if you buy a ticket to the amusement park and wheb they make a renovation 10 years later you get free ticket to see the new attractions? Only gamers think that a company releasing a product with whatever upgrades they are entitled to get it free.
1 - ND pitched the game as a 60fps title to begin with
2 - The amount of work by a developer is barely worth mentioning (at the very least for the frame rate improvement).. it's only a marketing effort
3 - There are tons of precedents of developers doing that kind of quality of life improvements for free
4 - The ticket you bought for the amusement park has a set time span (like Netflix, a concert ticket or other subscription service)

Sony should not make these things so messy.

Well its one of the wishes John from DF had for TLOU2, I agree with him.

This is a pretty sweet deal for me if I’m understanding it correctly.

So I own a physical copy of Uncharted 4. I’ve never purchased Lost Legacy.

That means I can get this bundle for $10? Sounds good to me if true! I was expecting to pay alot more having never bought Lost Legacy before,

A 120 fps mode is a surprise as well, although I don’t know if I want to play in 1080p resolution. It’ll be cool to turn on for a bit and check it out anyway.

Yeah $10 upgrade. You get both games.

Just have to wait til January (launch day) to upgrade.

No but they should wait longer than a generation to resell the same game when it's still playable on that generations console
What type of BS is this? They upgraded it for PS5 & PC & have a $10 upgrade option for people who bought the game on PS4. It will be close to 5 years since the game was released on PS4.

Yep, you're absolutely right. I forgot about Destiny 2, which was a 30 fps game on last consoles and has a 120 fps mode on current gen.

Yeah color me impressed. Didnt think sony would give away a game for free like that. I lost my copy of Lost Legacy so getting it digitally for free is kinda cool.

It's most likely 1440p60 and native 4K30.
Unmissable PlayStation®5 console features:
• DualSense™ wireless controller features: Feel the action unfold with the DualSense™ wireless controller's haptic feedback through punches, vaults, and vehicular traversal. Experience the tension in rope swings via dynamic adaptive triggers.
• Fast loading: Jump back into the adventure quickly with the PS5™ console’s ultra-high speed SSD and near-instant load times.
• 3D Audio: Hear the world of UNCHARTED™: Legacy of Thieves Collection come to life around you with 3D Audio.1
• Fidelity mode: Play in a super sharp native 4K resolution with a 30fps target frame rate.2
• Performance mode: Play with a smooth 60fps target frame rate.
o 4K TV players will experience a 4K resolution upscaled from a 1440p base resolution.
o 1080p HD TV players will experience a 1080p resolution super sampled from a 1440p base with improved anti-aliasing.
• Performance+ mode: Play with a high impact 120fps target frame rate3 and a 1080p resolution.

They are leaving a lot of performance on the table if they go with just 1440p 60 fps. I wonder if they even tried 1800p 60 fps. They should do what Kojima did. Native 4k unlocked framerate. 1800p 60 fps locked. Widescreen native 4k 60 fps.

You'd notice something like RT shadows more.

There's always more they could have done. Oh well.

Real time indirect lighting would actually create more shadows.

The gen unless theres significant improvements beyond resolution, fps and texture quality charging for remaster is really greedy and uncompetitive.

3 modes.

native 3840 x 2160p @ 30 Hz
native 2560 x 1440p @ 60 Hz
native 1920 x 1080p @ 120 Hz
Second mode the best imo

What do you guys think???

Also i really hope that Sony DLSS solution is real and coming soon, it will basically mean that 1440p, 60fps is gonna be pretty much quite same as 4K, 60fps, would be too neat!!
