Keanu Reeves says he's never played Cyberpunk, despite CD Projekt Red saying he loved it

"I've seen demonstration"

Reeves revealed during an interview with The Verge that he doesn't play video games, including the one he starred in.
He admits he's "seen demonstrations" of Cyberpunk 2077, but seems pretty adamant that he hasn't played the action RPG himself.

This contradiction was spotted by some very eagle-eyed folks over on the Cyberpunk subreddit.
While watching Reeves' recent interview, they noticed that it didn't fit in with previous reports from last December, in which CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński said the actor "loves" playing Cyberpunk.
He went on to admit that he hadn't completed it yet, but this definitely gave off the impression that Reeves was actively working on his own playthrough, certainly not just watching a demo.

So, what gives? It's possible some wires got crossed over at CD Projekt Red. Kiciński may have been told that Reeves was loving the look of the game, which the CEO innocently assumed meant he had been playing it, rather than just watching demos.
Another possibility is that Reeves interprets "played" Cyberpunk as sitting down with the final version in his spare time, rather than messing about in Night City prior to its launch.

I don't know about gamers in particular, but from what I saw people in general treat him as the second coming of Christ, just because he behaves like a decent human being.

Yeah pretty much, we praise you because you are not a complete asshole like the rest of your colleagues...

I just think of him as a mediocre actor...

Basically Michael Caine on Jaws 4...

The money he made off Jaws 4 enabled Caine to finish building his new home without issue, leading to this amazingly honest quote: "I have never seen the film, but by all accounts it was terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

Considering the types of narcissistic assholes in Hollywood yea definitely is. Doesn't behave like an entitled piece of shit.

If I remember correctly he gave away $75m to the production people of the matrix. Donated to a cancer foundation too. And there's a video of him giving up his seat on the train to a lady.

Don't think I've heard of another celebrity doing something like that. Most are just caught in scandals or bullshit.

In an industry full of assholes, he is humble.

He doesn't flash his money, he is very low key, he gives massive gifts to co-actors that people have never heard about.

He basically acts like a normal humble guy without money despite being in Hollywood and making bank. It's a rare sight.

Srsly I'd unironically, honestly be interested in knowing what people like him do in their free time. I'm sure it's a lot more fulfilling than playing video games.
Drinking tea while watching the weather, spending time with his wife, reading, writing, cooking, talking walks.... Its not really that hard to find a set of potentially fullfilling activities

No matter how much gamers love this dude for reasons that i don't understand,

I can't tell you why other like him but I can only tell you why I do, Keanu saved my life.

You see, i was in the back of a speeding carriage with a dynamite contraption that was set to blow if the horses stopped. This carriage was moving at lightning speed, had to be 15-20miles an hour. Me and a few other riders were worried the horses would tire and we'd be blown to smithereens. That's when he came. Keanu riding beside us on a commandeered horse. I could have sworn it was a unicorn with wings the way he was moving. But alas, unicorns don't ride horse. It was but a man, dressed in white, blood dripping from the side of his lip onto his pale white attire. I could tell it had been a bumpy ride to catch up to us, what other reason would there be blood dripping from your mouth like that. Anyways, Keanu leaped from the horse onto the carriage like animal and asked us why were were going so fast. We told him the situation. He told us he was here to save us. I thanked the lord that this angel was here to rescue us. Keanu said on the count of three, i'm going to save all of you. I didn't know how he would pull this off but he started to count. 1!..... 2!......3!...... Then he kicked the lady next to me off the carriage through the door and proceeded to throw everyone out of the speeding carriage including the kid. The carriage sped away as Keanu hopped off to make sure we were ok. There were four of us and we all survived the fall. This man had saved us. Not only did he save us, but he was doctor who went the extra mile of sucking out all of the bad blood from our necks as he did not have his equipment with him. I'll never forget that day. It was 1832, December, 13th. That is why people like Keanu.

We reached a time where videogames are widespread and mainstream enough that most people play them in one form or another below a certain age threshold, meaning many actors also play them.
It's the case with Henry Cavill, Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Holland and a bunch of others who openly comment on their gaming habits.

However it's not expected for someone like Keanu Reeves who's closing in on his 60s to have picked up on videogames. I think if home consoles were a thing when you were a child or a teenager, you'd have had friends who played them, etc. then the chances of playing videogames to this day are big.

As for the LiEs aNd dEcEpTiOn, they probably did give Keanu a controller for some time during production, just to kill curiosity for some time or to give him some kind of feedback, and I'd bet at some point he even said "ha! I love this" and then went on with his life. But 3 or 4 years later he still doesn't find videogames appealing which is normal IMO, so he answers he doesn't play cyberpunk (present).

Honestly, this is such a non-issue. Is that sub usually seeking drama or something?
