I never had any issues with pc gaming. You wait couple days to couple weeks and pirate the game, 99% of the problems the legit buyer have you don't have them. Want to support the dev then buy a copy but use the pirated edition.... It's shame it's like that but this the reality. First PlayStation I own after 2 is ps5 and it's magic.... You open it press 2times X and you play the game from where you left it. Same at my Xbox. Now open a pc game that you were playing yesterday perfectly fine and today you get the magic error music for no apparent reason. I am glad I left pc gaming.

This will put the game in Borderless windowed and the correct resolution.
3. To Go back full screen if you need it, download and use the software "Borderless Gaming" (You need to add Metro 2033 to the list inside the software)
4. Now play in 1440p but problem: Can't use VSync anymore, even with User.cfg, Nvidia Inspector or Nvidia Control Panel. To solve this you do this :
Use Msi Afterburner, Go in Settings, On Screen Display, In the Bottom click "More" there you can set Framerate Limit to 60 and Scanline Sync to 60 and use a Key to toggle on and off.
Now game is 1440p / 60 locked without tearing.
No, this is the problem of stupid DRM solutions. There are plenty of pc players able to play this and any other game. I would even say the right approach even for legit players that pay for their games to always get a non drm copy just in case.

My 45-year-old brother has been pc gaming for 25 years, just recently bought a 3080 rtx and is still pissed off with dozens of his games being unable to do a proper UI-scaling in order for HUDs to look big enough in a 4K resolution. He knows a lot about PCs, basically came by to my house and help me pick up parts in order for me to buy hydro-cooling for my 2080 ti (which cost me about 500 euros).
Thats a problem too. Retro gaming won't exist in the future...
