[IGN] What to Expect From PlayStation in 2022

Flashless at the Golden Globes
Covid happened though.
lol covid pushed back releases maybe 6 months. horizon, gt7 were 2021 games, they are now spring 2022.

We are talking about game reveals and releases within 6 months when people were telling me that sony will announce games at E3 and launch them by holiday. Now you are saying they are keeping things close to their chest as if they have some true next gen game set to be revealed AND released next year. Nah. If they are willing to show off games 2-3 years away like Wolverine and Spiderman. They are not keeping anything close to their chest. The games not revealed so far are even further behind.

woke year will be terrible. A few years then its over as quentin said its just a wave.

WTF is woke about Gran Turismo 7, Horizon and God of War?

Nah, I'm not going crazy. I'm talking more about some cool indie games. There's always a few that hit. And when they hit.......they hit well.

horizon 2, gow2 and gt7 sounds very strong but yeah crossgens (tough kudos for guerilla as there is clear improvement in horizon forbidden west and looks awsome), wonder what was sony planning earlier for 2022 as all this 3 titles were targetting 2021

Amazing year for gaming, terrible year for my wallet. Just the beginning of the year is crazy.

February 6 - SIFU
February 18 - Horizon FW
February 25 - Elden Ring
March 4 - Gran Turismo 7

GT7 and Elden Ring are day 1, so i have to leave SIFU and Horizon to less crowded months. Then thers alot of other games i want that are scheduled for 2022 but still dont have a fixed release date.
Same here, I’ll sadly have to wait with Horizon FW for a while and go with Elden Ring and GT7.

The only exception would be if Horizon Forbidden West releases to an unprecedented critical acclaim. I mean 10/10:s and 95+ metacritic/open critic score. Then I’ll have to play it ASAP. Elden Ring will stay around and it will take a while for people to fully understand the mechanics etc. so it might even become a better experience towards mid 2022.

People can talk all they want, it’s going to a big year with huge releases. I guess some people already know on what side of the fence they will be falling in 2022, keep those tears ready, PS studios about to have a banger.

From Sony first party the only one I'm looking forward is GOW, most other stuff I'm looking forward in PS5 are from third parties. This generation first party Sony severely lacking for me.

What are the chances of Fractions 2 or whatever Naughty Dogs MP game is releasing in 2022. I have a feeling we'll see it sooner in the year rather than later

I said it earlier, but as of now sony only have one game announced for the next fiscal year (god of war) so I’d be interested in seeing what else they have cooking up. It should be announced soon if they’re fall or holiday games. There is no way sony is only gonna have 1 first party offering for their investors call

Especially since they said last year the goal is to have more 1st party content this gen then last gen

Agreed, but the release of FF16 would certainly take the sting out of it for PS5 only gamers.
Y'all really think Sony is scared of Starfield 😭 if anything, if I was Bethesda I'd be wondering about the sales they will miss out on from PlayStation owners

It's going to be interesting

I want more platforming games. Japanese third party studios are starting to deliver jrpgs, which I don't expect Sony themselves to do.

More Ratchet, Sackboy, and hopefully Sly or Jak and Daxter.
I think we're going to get a full Astrobot game for PS5

Moderated wildly
They hit 2020 with Returnal, ratchet and im forgetting an exclusive Sony studios game right?

I think they can get 3 big games out in 2021, horizon, GT and god of war.

God of war is going to be huge im good with that being the big game of the year.

I'll end up getting a PS5 at some point. Didn't own a PS4 so all those games will be new to me.

Waiting for a decent price drop along with a bundle on Black Friday is usually a good bet. Plus all the other discounted titles by then.

As someone with no intention to get a PS5 yet it's going to be a fantastic year. Many great games for the hardware I already own.

LOL! That's not even possible. You know Sony keeps their projects close to the vest.
Do they? I guess that was true for the earliest PS5 titles, but for the most party Sony announce games more than a year in advance.

What makes a year woke, other than "some characters won't be white men"?

Same boat. Feel like I can play Sifu day 1 and Elden ring then GT7 and then play HFW off of GT7 after a while has passed and I’ve unlocked enough. I don’t want to blast through HFW for a week and then play ER and I want to break up the open world games.

We've never seen even one PSVR2 game yet. And that headset is supposed to come out in 2022 so........

So for 2022:
Uncharted 4 Remastered
Horizon
Sifu
Gran Turismo 7
Forspoken
God Of War

Plus Multiplats like Eldin Ring

Probably Also:
Naughty Dawg TLOU multiplayer
Gost Wire Tokyo
Stray

Not Happening:
Final Fantasy 16

Its gonna be a big year. Even sony are forecasting 22m PS5's sold in a year, which would be a record for them. So they know they are about to have a massive year.

Want to see how PSVR2 is going to turn out.

It’s rumored that its games will be playable in 2D also.

That just opens up a slew of default exclusives every PS5 owner can play.

That would be great news if true because the devs would not have to worry about a limited audience.

PlayStation AND Xbox owners, everyone's gonna play this shit on game pass. No one will buy a damn thing. Will be VERY interesting.

As someone who really adopted VR in 2016 through the PSVR as my gateway drug, I'm really excited for PSVR 2. Eye tracking and the new dualsense technology is going to be amazing. I just need to be able to get my hands on a PS5 first and then hope I can get a PSVR 2. I actually think it will be far easier to get the PSVR 2 than it will be to find a PS5.

Oh, shit I forgot Ghostwire. When is that coming out? I love Tango Studios and I would blow Mikami and be his bitch.
