Ubisoft+ Coming To Xbox Soon

All they have to do is cut down on the crazy sales, and BINGO! Price increase.

Microsoft could have already done that with EA and brought in EA's premium subscription service into Game Pass. MS could do that right now and bring Ubisoft in fully right now. There is a reason that isn't happening and it seems obvious that the amount of revenue being brought in isn't enough to pay for all that, "crazy sales" or no "crazy sales".

I completely agree with you, even though I've bought 2 years' worth of Game Pass sales at crazy prices.

I believe you moved the goal post from paying to buying the game. In that case he was initially right. A subscription service is paying for the game.

Additionally, given the move to digital purchases. A user/buyer technically doesn’t own the game.
The goal post was, about the free part.

The game is free on the service. And you are only paying for the service.

Paying the subscription =/= paying for the game. You are paying for a timer. Once the time runs out, you lose the acess. You have everything for free during that time. But that timer, is your subscription.

You dont own digital games too. Because account suspension, or deletion will lose access to the game.

If I'm paying for the subscription, I'm paying for the games in the subscription.

There will always be a device that can play what I've purchased, as long as it is physical.
The device won't play the game, if the product is broken, lost, or anything happen to it.

There are all kind of things that makes you lose access to your Ownership.

For example, your car without insurance is useless. If it's tolled, you lose it. Your house without property taxes, means the government will take it back. Without insurance, you wont be able to get your investment back, if your house catches fire. Without water, you cant live on that house.
Do you really own the house, in that sense?

Same thing for games. Without having a secure protection for your games, you really don't own them. You can lose them easily. And now you don't own that product.

That is why people don't own anything.

It's already on Stadia, and I think is an awesome way to play several new ubisoft games in the same time. But for those who stick to a single game and take their time to finish it, could be better to just buy it separately.

Given another chance
Played one Far Cry, played them all.
Played one Assassins Creed, played them all.
Played one Division, played them all.
Played one Watch Dogs, played them all.
Etc…
There’s too many similarities between their games for me.

Car and house insurance prove you don't own your car or house?

Ice Cube Reaction GIF

Edit: Know what? Forget I asked. These conversations are a rabbit hole.
In short term, you need to pay other entity to fully own, what you bought in the 1st place. And without those, you lose access to them.

Police will revoke your ability to drive your car without insurance. Not paying property tax can lead to foreclosure of your house.

Effectively, you don't own these 2, without paying these 2 organizations. Failure to pay them, could result in losing them.

Let me introduce you, the concept of war and natural disaster.

You are taking the peace you are in as granted. Outside of your country, there are people who lost everything they own to war.

Last year, there was a women, who lost everything in her apartment to a fire. And because she lived in an apartment, she didn't have insurance to cover the damage of the fire.

When you have these 2, you can kiss your 2nd ammendment good bye.

I know you Americans scream about freedom. By real life doesn't give a flying fuck about it.

So basically in a year or so when this fails to deliver any meaningful subscriptions it will be included with GamePass just like EA Play

I'm not sure. I think they would have introduced a lower tier on PC by now if it wasn't working. And I'm expecting EA Play to detach itself from Game Pass by 2023. Aaron Greenberg said it was not a permanent thing - "for the foreseeable future" was his words, IIRC.

You have also coincidently played Zelda Breath of the Wild, a majority of Sonys first party titles and Halo Infinite if you play an Ubisoft game.

Bu-bu-bu-but barren wilderness with a functioning physics system = 11/10 best game ever made...

EA have probably seen how successful Gamepass has been and want a slice of that pie.

I could imagine EA Play being a full subscription platform where all their games drop on the service day one.

Give it a few years and all major publishers will have their own full subscription service.

Lol. That doesn't make any sense.

I have a large book collection of hundreds of physical books. I can do with them as I please. I can sell them, donate them to charity, a school or a library. I can pass them on to whoever I wish in my will when I'm gone.

How do I not own my books?

That's what I'm saying... My argument was that it's dumb to pay $20 a month for Ubi games. My argument was somehow dumb but you also agree with it?
Your argument is dumb because this allows me to get the deluxe edition of games which retail for 120 for 15 dollars when they launch.

It's coming to GamePass or just Xbox? I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay a monthly fee just to rent Ubisoft games.
I did to play AC:V and Fenyx. Why pay full price when you can rent and be done with them? Granted I might not do it again since AC:V was way too fucking bloated.

I am suggesting people should sub, play game(s) they are interested in and then unsub until there is reason to subscribe again. Not sub continuously. You get to play a 60 dollar game at release for 15 bucks for 30 days and can also try others.

If I'm paying for the subscription, I'm paying for the games in the subscription.

The "muh physica!" crowd seems not to understand that most people simply want to play games, that's the only thing that matters, and when given an option to finish a game for 10-15$ instead of 70 the choice is more than obvious. And if for those same 10-15$ you can finish 2, 3 and more games instead of having to throw another 70$, and another, and another, it's really a no-brainer.

Is Gamepass free?
Is Netflix free?
Is Playstation Plus free?
Is Amazon Prime free?

Saying a show or game included in a payed subscription is 'free' is just plain wrong.

What you could say is "I can play it without added purchase", because it's included in something you are already paying.

Having access to a catalog of games is literally the reason someone pays for a gaming subscription.

This isn't semantics. Unless you aren't paying a dime for it, you can't call it free.

It's similar to how someone who pays for a gym membership couldn't say "I get access to the squat rack for free". Nobody would say that.

I never hear people say "There's a new Netflix show, and I can watch for free". Of course not, you are paying for a Netflix subscription, which includes access to shows and movies.

One of the strangest things that has come out, due to the existence of Gamepass and other subscriptions services is the idea that because I/you play a game from Gamepass I'm/you playing for it for free. Because it is not free. It is absolutely not free. It might be considered less than what you might pay for a day 1 launch for instance but its not free.

That and the statement 'i only paid £1 for three years' should not be stated at all.

the amount of different subs people will have by then for all service types will be ridiculous.

Was a thread in off topic about number of subscriptions people had running into 10 to 15 different services😳

One caveat to this is off perspective. I’m paying to play online with psplus+, the games are a bonus.

Would not be paying for the games we’re I not forced to pay for online gameplay.

I could imagine a very basic version included in Game Pass at some point with games older > 2 years and that basic version allows you to rent newer games for a price.

This! No one is forcing this sub on you. As Ubi+ exists today, I'm indifferent to it. It would only be a negative if MS boosted the price of GP by $15 a month and basically forced me to buy Ubi+. As long as it is just an option, who cares. For those that purchase day one and want the premium versions and the DLC this is a good deal.

Figures crossed for some kind of budget option without the day 1 releases and dlc.

Are you buying the products on netfix, gamepass, playstation plus, amazon prime? If not, then its free. Because you arent spending money on all these products.

Your gym example is free product. You are using those expensive machines for free. You dont need to buy them, since the gym owns it. You pay them, to use it.

Using it is what you pay. You dont pay for the actual product.

You are conflating that which is included in a service or subscription that you pay for with the word "free". The more accurate way to describe what you are talking about is "included at no extra cost" which is fundamentally different than it being "free".

Your ownership comes as in having the actual product. If you dont have the product, you dont own it. Same with selling it. You lose ownership to it.

That is why I keep saying, you dont really own anything. You are running the risk of losing it. Once you lose it, you will have to buy it again.

But since my physical books are safe and sound, I do currently own them. They are not licensed to me, or on loan from another person. They are my physical books that I own outright.

If a fire ran through my house and burned my books they would cease to exist. However, that doesn't mean that I don't really own them because of the probability of them getting destroyed.

If you feel that you don't actually own anything then you won't mind me coming to your place and taking away all your physical possessions. After all, you don't really own them do you, so I'll take them off your hands. PM your address. Thanks.
