The State of Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, and Activision Blizzard King: A breakdown of all the Confirmed Projects, Leaks, and Rumors

nah, just saying their games don’t appeal to me. And they don’t. But they release excellent games that have wide appeal and public.
I get what you're saying. Xbox is unusually concentrated in Wrpgs and fps right now. That doesn't appeal to everyone. If you're into Sony games there's a chance Fable might catch your eye. We'll see.

That 2023 looks feisty but on the other hand 2022 looks barren. Except forza 8, Redfall and Stalker don't know what to expect from this year.

All those studios and not a single release in 2022. Phil Spencer really needs to pull his finger out and start delivering. After launching a console with no games, an ok 2021 they should be coming in hot with games.

You didn't see Starfield, Redfall, Forza, STALKER and Crossfire X there with 2022 release dates?

Let me google up for you if there are SpecSavers coupons available.

I'll be first to acknowledge that first half of 2022 looks barren.

But after that. Jesus allmighty.
Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Contraband, Perfect Dark, COD 2023 and probably few others just in 2023.

We will be feasting and "Xbox has no game" will be just a bad dream.

Not the mention other 3rd party GamePass deals.

Forza 8, Starfield, RedFall, Ghostwire: Tokyo (on PS5) and Stalker in the same year... and it's barren? Could also add DeathLoop to this list since the 1 year timed exclusivity will end.

Even versus 2023 it's not that bad:
State of Decay 3
Fable
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
Avowed
Perfect Dark
Coalition new small IP

Until you include ABK games too:
Overwatch 2
Diablo 4
Call of Duty (2023) by Treyarch

No VR games listed. They really aren’t interested in VR are they?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Hey guys .... y'all got any release window for Avowed ?

The Coalition StarCraft 3rd person shooter would be fire. But I really hope they can bring back Vicarious Visions and Toys for Bob and just hand them all the Rare IPs.

With unreal 5 finalization being postponed, half of these are 2024 at earliest. Specifically since within the last year a lot or projects started migrating over to unreal 5.

Obsidian, coalition’s releases in terms of time frame are the only ones I see releasing in 2023.

you can still build games with UE5 "finalization" doesn't really mean much if you're already using the engine and it still has the capabilities of UE4 in it

Must tell a lot about my tastes in gaming that even after these acquisitions, my most anticipated Xbox exclusives are Ori 3 and Tunic.

"I advertise for PlayStation. For free"

Your tag says it all tho. Yet you manage to be first or at minimum on the first page of every Xbox thread just to shitpost.

OT: Just looking forward to the event to see what they officially have.

I get that but in terms of studio efficiency specifically engines like unreal I trust only a couple studios that have that track record. Let alone Unreal 5 is pushing its finalization of the engine. Meaning this pushes projects.

Most projects outside of Bethesda are using unreal.

How is being more excited for Ori and Tunic than Call of Duty or whatever else shitposting on Xbox?

I'm more excited for those games than 95% of all AAA games, regardless of platform.

People on these boards have been making fun of how popular Call of Duty and Candy Crush are for many years. Suddenly now it's offensive?

No doubt XGS output for 2022 is their weakest when comparing to the avalanche of first-party games they have in the future, but there's plenty 2022 indie and third-party games to look forward to and whether they come from first-party or not, for consumers, I don't think it's as troublesome as some people make it out to be.

Yeah, Not even remotely close to being a concern if you’re a Gamepass subscriber, since there’s a steady stream of excellent stuff to play.

Nobody’s going to delay projects while waiting for the public release of Unreal Engine to be ‘finalized’. Devs get the early track on features.

I'm still trying to clear off last years stuff and they have already hit me with a few great games this year.

At this point I have conceded I'll never keep up with everything I want to play, and some people are crying drought again already.

You can tell who actually plays games, based on that sentiment alone.

Starfield is this year supposedly. Halo will have some kind of update. Forza H expansion dlc probably. Tunic. Guess we'll see on the rest.

How could I forget Starfield!? Shame on me. It looks a lot different if we include such a big release.

I forgot about Deathloop and I don't count ghostwire as it won't be available on Xbox till 2023.

I take my words back. 2022 doesn't look barren witch such games.

Starfield
Redfall
Deathloop
Forza Motorsport
Stalker
Grounded

and there's probably something else too.

As dusk falls (published by XGS)
Pentiment (rumored)
Big halo and Forza expansions.

Hellblade 2 is likely coming next year. Fable too... maybe.

Everything is so far away. We’ve heard nothing about Redfall, can’t see it come out in 2022. Forza Motorsport 8 could possibly arrive this year but I honestly doubt it. And then we have… well, what do we have? Starfield?

I think we will see some releases closer than you expect, but once the big boys start rolling it's not going to stop

Which releases are you thinking about?
Some unannounced at this time.

I think we are going to get a game or 2 announced and released in a very short window this year, and by this time next year we will be flooded with new games.

Let's face it right now the only announced games are Horizon, GT, Redfall, and Starfield.

You can't honestly believe that's all the games coming in '22
