I'm far too excited for this game, almost every feature in that video I'm like:

Now I'm trying to get someone else on board with this silly game for co-op, me on the right there, her on the left, still a bit unsure:

Also I should save money... but on the other hand:

God damn that looks fugly.

There were a few previews that showed it couldn't even keep up with it's pathetically low framerate at times too.

I want to love you Nintendo, but fuck you make it so hard.

EDIT: The game can't even keep up 30 FPS, that's truly trash in 2022, and poorly optimized.

This is great! The animations are so jolly. Only been playing for a minute and it probably tells you this later but if you hold the trigger/bumper and move stick you do these super cute looking dodges haha, thanks Kirby for being the best bo... gir... thing.

The framerate is a bit oof, probably should've just capped to 30fps and made it look nicer like LM3, c'est la Ninty fan vie.

Looks like "Kirby Does Cappy" or "Super Kirby Odyssey "

I'm not that familiar with Kirby but didn't it always have "copy abilities" as the core foundation of the game? I'd say its more like Donkey Kong, limited chances to bust open crates and such.

I mean, I'm not saying its not heavily inspired by SMO as well though.

This game looks insanely fun.
Is it 60fps like Mario Odyssey?
Doesn't look it, but I'm hoping it is just the trailer uploads.
I'll check the demo out later on my partner's switch, if she is interested in it.

Ehhhhhhh about that... I believe it has an unlocked framerate so it COULD run at 60fps, but it appears to be sub 60 almost all the time with hard drops to 30 during stress moments.

It would maybe be better to cap to 30hz and blow the graphics out, but then input lag would be really bad so I'm guessing that's why they didn't. Getting locked 60 would probably need a heavy reduction in res and it's already quite low. I'm hopeful they can maybe fix it up by launch but seems unlikely.

I played the demo, it's really fun, I just wish it was 60fps but oh well. Other than that, I have no real complaints. This is gonna be a great platformer to scratch that Mario itch

Thank you for the response, I'll probably still check out the demo, the game looks immensely fun and it looks like it is fixed camera anyway, so a bit more bearable with lower fps.

Nah game is 30fps. Which is a bit disappointing as visually it doesn't really look better than Odyssey.
But looks really fun regardless.

Loved the demo, especially the final boss and the armadillo-rabbit in the final game preview.

My only complain is that it looks waaaaaay too easy, as always with this franchise.

Yeah its much better option to unlock the framerate, 30 is shit for Kirby, these games ran at 60fps on the 3ds(and Wii) and were a joy to play, even if its unstable at least they know a platformer isn't worth shit if it runs at 30 with drops like other Switch games

That mouthfull mode though. Looks soo creepy.

Something about it, i dont how to say it but, seems soo, uncircumcised.

I dont know.

Open world kirby is fun as a concept but the game still plays like baby game.
It's a 100% sale to the vore freaks that's for sure. For everyone else...

After finishing the demo. It's not as bad as that sad sack of shit Yoshi switch but it's kind of close. The Yoshi game was almost a runner without any obstacles, this at least has the old Kirby "charm".

Prettiest switch game? ROFL! But yea, this is where the bar is eh? Then sure if that's what you need to convince yourself about it.

I played the demo, it's too easy.

Didn't take any effort to do 100% and the boss battle is embarrassingly easy. I used the ice power and you can defend everything pressing R button.

My 9-year-old daughter loves the franchise, and I love having a game to play with her. I'm really looking forward to this one. Too bad it's a single-player game, but still, it looks like a fun game.

yeah, I hope they make hard mode a standard. Some entries have it as an unlockable, but it should be there from the start. The only Kirby game that is a little bit challenging is Kirby's Adventure, and compared to other NES titles its a cake walk. now there is wild mode, which is pretty much what I wanted.. kinda. It's still easy. so maybe an extra hard mode? idk

as for the game... its looks great (despite frame pacing issues and apparent adaptive resolution), controls great, is very ambitious for a Kirby title, and I'm looking forward to it. It's a big step forward and exactly what the series needed.

This looks really great, that stupid looking ‘mouthful’ ability looks like a lot of fun.

But still seems to be a bit on the easy side, like most Kirby games, which always tend to bore me after a couple of levels.

Hey, enjoy the normal game with your kids
However, there's PLENTY of rom hacks out there with the difficulty CRANKED the fuck up for the Kirby series for us older fans of the series

inb4 link me them, etc. Simple Google search will find them

It's not a problem if it's easy, as long as the collectible part of it is addicting. I think that's the hook here, it's a collecting game. Which I like.

Canvas Curse had some challenge as well, because of the control. Not a complain, of course, in my opinion it was, by far, the best game ever conceived for Nintendo DS.
