98-2000 a shitshow ? What do you mean ? Any example ?

I wasn't a fan of the the vast majority of the sega games released during that time
it was also a dramatic drop in quality compared to 1985-1994

They also had a ton of technical issues (buggy) which has been overshadowed by the younger generations dreamcast nostalgia

Sonic Adventure is my Sonic 06' Sega shined so brightly during the DC days because they were crashing and burning out economically, creatively (not supporting 2d games in the west, crappy 3d titles with good ideas that later generations built upon but were poorly done at the time) and even ethically (look up how they would actually hold employees hostage)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segagaga one of the final high points touches on how shitty everything was

Sorry but I'd have to disagree, SA1 on dreamcast was decently polished, so it was on Gamecube, despite the downgrade.
The game only really sucked on Steam but 3D Sonic is a fun time if youre skilled at it, just like the 2D games.
Same with a lot of the other games at the time, like Space Channel 5, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Super Monkey Ball, Chu Chu Rocket etc.

Interesting case here.
Many young players are often downplaying classic Sega on resetera when older gamers on GAF only care about old Sega.

There is no middle ground...

Calling classic Genesis games "inaccessible" when Sega milks them in compilations or clone hardware at least 2-3 times every console gen is ridiculous.

They don't gate that stuff to nearly the same extent Nintendo does their legacy games.

I think the OP talks about games that were inaccessible at the time (like Sonic CD stuck on Sega CD for more than a decade) when others talk about current over expensive games like Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Sonic CD was also on Win95 PC at the time so that's not even a good example. Panzer Dragoon Saga's one notable exception and that is likely to get a remake after Zwei's is done.

Unfortunately the entry cost wasn't exactly cheap for a PC at the time. (there weren't all the cheap and efficient chinese brands in every super market). Plus, PC ports weren't well known and marketed either. (there were Sakura Wars games on PC as well in Japan but you know...)

As for Panzer Dragoon Saga, FE didn't get the rights for Saga but yeah it's seems a small indy team is trying to produce a Saga remake and buy the rights to Sega.

Seems not bad at all for now.

No need for more than one vote. 89-91 and it isn't even close.

Bayonetta is not even mentioned smh 😔
Yeah, i decided to focus on internal games because gamers often complain of the subject, arguing it's not pure Sega games.

But you can still vote for 2007-2009 if you really love Bayonetta and wants to reward 2008 Sega...

If you prefere Vanquish and Binary Domain (RGG Studio), then vote for 2010-12...
