Surprisingly enough I bought but never played Resident Evil 7. Idk why but I never touched it, however, I have watched a lot of it.

Never touched Fortnite, PUBG, and most battle-royal games because they feel so meaningless and uninteresting. Funnily enough, I played Apex a bit because I was craving for a new Titanfall game.

I've never touched a mainline Forza series, but I loved Forza Horizon 4 and 5.

I don't care for Fallout games, and from the Elder Scrolls games, I only played Skyrim. I don't understand the appeal of Gears of Wars, never liked it despite watching the whole series through friends or youtube. I skipped entirely Halo 5.

I love racing games but I buy a bunch of them to hardly touch anything. Same with fighting games. Love both genres but the older I get, the less patience I have to dedicate my time to it.

My current backlog:
Spider-Man + Spider-Man Miles Morales
Jedi: Fallen Order
Control
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
CrossCode
All recent RE games (2, 3, 7 & 8)
*Returnal (got the platinum, but haven’t touched it since it came out, I want to play the new stuff from the latest update).

Half Life 2.

Just didn't have a PC that could run it back when it came out. And by the time I had one it didn't interest me that much, all the environments looks very grey/brown and by the time I had something that could run it the whole gravity gun thing was no longer as revolutionary .
Also the fact it's an ongoing story that Vale seems to have no interest in ever finishing makes me not want to get invested in the world and characters.

Among Us
Fall Guys
Fartnite
Minecraft
Battlefield - any of them
Last of Us 2
Ghost of Tsushima (not because I'm uninterested, but I'm 90% sure there will be a PC version soon and I didn't want to double dip)

So mostly for me it's stuff that clearly isn't made or marketed for my age demographic, which is fine. These games all see a lot of success with kids or fans of the respective series.

Not gonna list all the popular multiplayer only games I don't care about.

Also in general racing and fighting games (- some exceptions sometimes).

I was burned by how bad the Fallout games were, that I never started Skyrim, although I have it on PS4 (+PS5 upgrade I think).

Started to play Diablo 3, I think I defeated the first major boss, and just stopped playing. It now sits somewhere on my backlog. Was my first Diablo, and probably my last one.

Stopped playing the first Halo during the first level. Seeing all the screaming and hopping little enemies really turned me off, enough to never give it a chance again.

Monster Hunter. I try it again and again. I like the concept, but everytime I retry to play it I'm smacked in the face by the fact that it's clearly developed with multiplayer in mind. Having to wait several seconds each time I start a mission, although I play solo, makes me stop to play it.

I have been on gaming forums and gaming communities a LONG time, but this is the first time I've ever heard that this was somebody's main complaint with MonHun.

It's like complaining that you don't want to drive a car because it takes a few minutes to fill up the gas tank.

Well, it's not actually THE main complain. It's the multiplayer focus which is what keeps me from enjoying it. It is prominent in the hubs, in the UI and - as far as I could see - also in the later missions. Then I finally get to start a mission and... lobby countdown, like if I was playing online.

That's fair. The game does generally want to funnel you into Multiplayer at a certain point. Keep in mind though, it's perfectly beatable solo, and the monsters actually scale stats and HP based on the number of players in the current hunt. So if you are playing solo, you have to do much less damage than 2 or 4 players would have to do to the same monster.

I've missed lot of the gems from the last gen since I had a PS4 for just three years.

Past games I should probably play: Xenogears (partially) and other Square games of that era, finish FF6, SOMA, Undertale, Halo 3, some other game maybe.
