My only complaint is that the lower-level enemies lack the unique enemy design of the Necromorphs. Even the lowest grunt in Dead Space looked unique. The first enemies here look like mere zombies.
Though to be fair, in Dead Space 2 and beyond, DS also created generic looking necromorphs.
Anyways, definitely my most anticipated game this year!

Yeah the necro's were a cool design, all of them really (my fave 'nugget arms').
I suppose if they make everything too Dead Space, EA could possibly take action or soemthing lol, especially with the DS remake releasing at a similar time.

That game has release date!? I thought they didn’t announce release date, so I half expected to be 2023 game.

Actually i'm not sure, but in some other threads i saw people saying stuff like 'DS Remake, Callisto Effect, Routune, all space horror games coming around the same time'. Still Callisto is November if it doesnt delay, and DS is almost certainly next year, and with it being more or less a graphical update, i wouldnt expect a super long dev time.
I suppose its just a figure of speach. Still Callisto is almost certainly coming first,which could annoy EA if it ended up near identicle to DS in all but name (i mean to me it already does that!)

well i was off by 2 days. I was actually watching Cohh's stream when this show was on and they were saying November.November!? Based on trailer they are coming out in December 2nd.

Eh? i do. There are loads of actual gameplay sequences in the extended tariler, and its certainly nothing that the next gen consoles shouldnt pull off. In fact the screens above reminded me of TLOU2 level of graphics, and that was a PS4 game.Looks good, but I call bullshit.

I'm no graphic expert, the game has fantastic art direction and atmosphere but I dont think exactly "high tech".

The last gen versions wont look as good i'm sure, but if the Series and PS5 cant pull off this trailer then its going to be a long gen.

If we were still on last gen, i could understand your feelings about this, but i would honestly be more worried if the Series and PS5 cant pull off this trailer (and again there are clear gameplay sections of the trailer). Its certainly a nice looking game but nothing groundbreaking or anything. In fact i have also seen a few people say they werent that impressed with the graphics (which is also a bit silly).

Well, that's precisely the point... the vast majority were NOT "realtime gameplay", but fake presentations they tried to pass as the real deal. We don't even have to go to the most extreme cases like Cyberpunk 2077, Watchdogs, Rainbow Six, The Division, ... as I said, even a studio like NaughtyDog is doing this shit.
All the qualities of this trailer screams bullshit to me: the ultradetailed models, perfect antialiasing, SSS, lighting, light bounces, volumetrics, high sampling motion-blur, perfect DOF with bokeh, ... in a cross-gen game for all consoles and PC from a small studio (even if they come from Dead Space)?? nope.
I bet the game will still be good, but the downgrade is gonna be painful.

That's the point. The trailer looks fantastic. Too fantastic. I bet the game is NOT gonna look like that. Most other studios, bigger and better ones, have been faking "gameplay" for years. And we ALL know that. But this is suddenly gonna top them all without doing it, on a crossgen game for all platforms made by a small studio?... I don't think so.

I didn't think they were doing pre-rendered stuff during gameplay anymore. But even counting out that one, unless all the others are pre-rendered too...
Returnal, for example, is an exclusive next-gen game, made also by a small studio, but for just ONE target next-gen machine, and it doesn't look this good.
I would love to be wrong about it and eat crow later at release, but come on, guys... who are we kidding? it's been years and years of all these studios pulling the same exact bullshit. How many times have we been fooled already?

We're comparing cutscenes to cutscenes. Nothing comes close to TLOU2, maybe Horizon forbidden West.

Maybe one of the few exceptions, along God of War 2018. But Demon's Souls was a game made exclusively to be a visual showcase for ONE next-gen machine, which is a whole different thing than making a game for 5 platforms across 2 different generations. And even Demon's Souls doesn't look as good as many of the stuff in this trailer, despite being hard to compare games that are so different.

It kind of looks from the trailer that the upgradebale armour is another thing they are using from DS. I'll still download an Isaac mod though!.

And it's not like DS is some technical marvel, it's just polygons and textures, nice looking ones sure but still, it's like saying only Lambo can go this highway, Ferrari or McLaren wouldn't be able to.
