Nintendo Fan spent 40,000$ on Nintendo Stock so he could ask executives why the company won't make more of a fan-favorite series

Heck they could port GX to Switch with nothing but 1080p docked enabled and online multiplayer to "test the market" and I'd buy it for 60 bucks.
Problem is that GX needs analog triggers. Switch Pro Controller doesn't have that.

Reverse groomer.
GAF needs to host a fundraiser to get 1 million bucks, so it can all be invested into Nintendo and we can collectively go ask them to make a new F-Zero. Then, and only then, will we see results.

Can i do the same with Konami and ask them about Silent Hill and Metal Gear?
Possibly, but considering Konami has it's hands in other businesses you're probably going to have more conflict with others' interests even compared to this.

I don't see the cringe, its not like he lost $40,000 to ask a question.
Well, the economy's tanking, so he can't exactly be cashing out that money in the short-term now.

Nintendo's pretty safe, though, so he's just gotta hold out a decade.

That said, one of the difficulties of buying stock like Nintendo's/Konami's is that they're not NASDAQ or NYSE, which makes them simply harder to purchase even if you have the money. I don't have access to them on my own stock-purchasing apps, otherwise I'd have bought them already.

And, well, of course, who else actually has 40k to go around? I sure don't.

Am I the only one who read this story and immediately thought of this?

Nintendo needed Omelette the chicken at this meeting. Omelette only uses 5 attack points per argument. $40,000 guy would've taken a seat in seconds.

F-Zero GX is still the best game ever released on a Nintendo console.
Fuck Nintendo for never releasing a sequel or at least an HD remaster with online play.

Please make a game in a series that routinely underperforms and the last big one was an especially big flop.

F-Zero GX was a flop?

It's certainly not their biggest hitter, but that hasn't stopped them from doing niche games before.

Companies like to make money, so they make sequels of their IPs that make more money. Some series like F-Zero didn't have good sales, at least not at the level of the IPs they constantly bring back again and again. Pretty likely Nintendo considers IPs like F-Zero wouldn't sell enough to justify the cost of bringing them back.

Numbers may not be accurate, but seems safe to think it didn't sell a million copies. I assume back then sales weren't that bad considering the relatively poor Game Cube install base and that racing games weren't that popular outside a few IPs.

Are you suggesting it didn't make a profit or just that it wasn't a huge hit?

Times change. The series has got a lot more recognition over the years from the internet, and the install base would be far bigger.

Yes, according to that it sold ~0,7 million, which isn't stellar, but we have to remember that the Gamecube only sold ~22 million units.

That's a 1:31 ratio. So that would equal to 3.1 million on the Wii or Switch (consoles past the 100 million mark).

Starfox has been doing so-so since after the N64 days and it still got new releases here and there. I think Nintendo just doesn't have ideas or know what to do with it, technically the last F-Zero they did was F-Zero X.

I'd release a new F-Zero as Mario Kart standalone DLC.

Add some F-Zero Stages, F-Zero ships and F-Zero songs as a skin to play on a special F-Zero game mode without items and without the other stages and vehicles. The Mario Kart has a Mario face on the cover, so it would sell.

gamers are some of the weirdest people on the planet.

fair enough if the guy has enough money to do this but it's a bit pathetic.

Nintendo is the king of sitting on big properties for years, only to unleash the floodgates. Luigi's Mansion started as a minor hit on GameCube, the series was dormant for 12 years, and it's sequel on 3DS sold almost 7 million copies. 3 sold almost 12 million.

It's like the longer Nintendo lets these series lay dormant, the bigger the splash they can make once they bring it back.

I don't think F-Zero will be any exception. No doubt they've tried and failed a few times over the last few platforms to bring it back, but I guarantee it will happen.
