Yeah. I got a modded Wii that I mess around with. Were there any wireless Gamecube controllers?

What are some cool things you can do with a modded Wii? I know you can play ripped games and import games with one.

There are, the official ones are called wavebirds :)

There are also alternatives for plugging wired ones to a wiimote, or there were at the time.

Homebrew is great on the Wii. 8 bit, 16 bit and Gameboy Advance feel right at home. the snes, gba and mega drive one being highlights as is the possibility of using real controllers with an adapter. It can also output 240p natively which is great to plug it onto a CRT or a analog processing pipeline (SLG3000 or similar).

Wii Loader GX is your friend for booting ripped games. Then there's Nintendon't which allows you to use PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Switch controllers on gamecube games. (also force widescreen) it's awesome.

Ah, I remember something about Wavebirds.

Of course, eBay is selling them with the receiver at ridiculous prices.

I guess I will stick to wired. Pain in the butt.

Hunt one of these down:

Super Smash Bros licenced controllers for the Wii U are basically gamecube controllers that plug onto the Wiimote making them semi-wireless and still official.

The first one is a Hori Wii U Gamecube controller, the second one is a PDP Wii U Gamecube Controller. Both were themed with several Nintendo mascots. I'd say they're worth up to $30.

You can't use them with gamecube games running from the disc drive on the Wii because that mode is dumb and only expects controllers plugged into the gamecube controller ports (and it also requires a memory card for saves), but can easily use them if you run Gamecube through the Nintendont loader. With a hacked wii you also don't need a memory card, as you can have a virtual one instead.

Hay no.

Seeing those 3 consoles reminds me of the worst video game Generation that I've ever experienced, that I want to forget it.

I like the current one better.
Oh man, are you serious? The 360/PS3 era was phenomenal and had some of the best titles around. The current one feels a little 'meh', to be honest.

I still use all of them pretty regularly. For me it was the last generation of the golden age.

I cant even find any. You can order batteries off Amazon though, process seems simple enough
That reminds me, is the PSP battery availability solved in 2022?

I know it's not the right thread, but two years ago it was crazy. Most batteries were bloated and no replacements in stock anywhere.

Image quality is a bit hard to go back to, as is the typical framerate.

But it's kinda impressive that they were doing HD in 2006 and how well it holds up. Also how more experimental/varied the software sometimes was.

The PS3 generation is where you will find the last great Ridge Racer, the last great tennis game, and the last great Metal Gear Solid games.....the PS5 has nothing on those...

PS3 is still hooked up in the bedroom, love it. Hooking the 360 up in the guest room along with the SNES and NES. Wanna eventually mod my Dreamcast with an SSD and get that hooked up in the attic. Retro is bestro.

This guy shows what being part of a Youtube network that manipulates the algorithm can do for unwatchable content. His face and his fake personality and his voice are all awful. So is his awful friend too, these characters are all so awful. These aren't real people these are bad actors fitting a "annoying nerd" personality that some poor bastard marketers have had to study to create.

He looks like he's ready for Tommy Lee(topical!) in that thumbnail.

I did have a Dreamcast hooked up with a Retrotink.

Really the final slim PS3 is the best one because it is hard for the disc drive to break. It does not have a slide in drawer.

I have a 27 inch crt in my game room. I have a PS2, Genesis, and Wii hooked up. My tween daughter is actually really into the Wii. Lots of shit games on it, but when they hit, they hit hard.

I finally got my modded Wii setup right. It is not that user friendly. Yeesh.

The Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the Gamecube is definitely a downgrade from the 360 and PC version. It is not horrible, but not great.

Carbon was on the Wii and probably looks allot better.

I'll never get rid of the Sony WEGA 27" CRT I bought in 2001. I don't play on my old consoles at all, but it's the only way I would if I did. Damn thing weighs more than the sun too. Keeping it around is a pain in the ass.
