the netcode of Infinite is the worst I've ever seen... so yes it is. also the online coop was a mess when they had the beta, so I'm not holding my breath for a release of that anytime soon either. they say it will come this year, I bet not... I bet it will be delayed into Season 3

For the record Hot Wheels DLC for Forza Horizon 5 came out to rave reviews. Grounded hits this month with version 1.0 so game preview is over. Pentiment hits in November. Xbox Game studios also published As Dusk Falls. You may or may not like the games released but it is not accurate to say they released no games this year. You also ignored all the day one releases on Game pass so there are plenty of games to play outside of Xbox first party as well.
The quality control argument is weird because they won publisher of the year in 2021 and even 343i which you call out released a critically acclaimed title last December. Again you may or may not like what they put out but you should be accurate. I'm pretty sure 2023 will have them back in the running again and 2023 isn't that far away.
Delays hit all studios and while it sucks I'm sure you wouldn't be very understanding if they rushed titles out and they scored horribly. Their certainly appears to be a negative bias in your commentary. MS could do better but it is hardly as dire as you paint things. The biggest Phil detractors aren't usually Xbox customers. It's pretty weird.

I don't, I blame the matchmaking, which is known how it works and will literally force you to lose half your matches, for losing. I blame the netcode for frustrating me.
the issue here being. the netcode of the game is already shit when we only have players on constrained maps.

even if it doesn't work on Xbox One, that doesn't mean they have to cancel it for all systems. PC was never going to get Splitscreen at all for example, didn't stop the Xbox versions from having Splitscreen multiplayer.
Why the PC doesn't get Splitscreen MP tho is another topic entirely, and it makes absolutely no sense either.
MCC also has no Splitscreen on PC for some bizzare reason, apparently 343i is not able to implement it without a lot of resources dedicated to that one task alone, which should show once more what an incompetent bunch they are

I'm honestly surprised that some people are just going "meh" to this. I guess no one played Halo with more than one TV hooked up with a bunch of people in the same room?
Hell, what about just four people on one TV. I remember me and friends playing Halo 2 on one TV and having the time of of our lives. Hell, I still go over and we get together and play it.
I also remember playing Halo 3 with a friend together online. Good times.
It's honestly a shame that this happened. It was one of the biggest feature of the game that made it more sociable. Yes, there is online but I'll have friends over and play co-op any day over online. The trash taking and insults are so much better in person.

2) Linear and sandbox levels, not open world
3) not live service / GaaS, though I actually this they positioned it like this as an excuse for their barebones launch product
4) with full time developers vs an army of one-year term outsource contractors.
These would have made it more content complete and far more likely to have split screen coop.
The above were all terrible decisions by management.

Yep. The Act Man explains it very well in this video basically saying Halo’s identity at its core was as a social party game, it was what Bungie got so right and that 343 has ruined with Halo Infinite. This was a couple weeks back too, not some hot take from today.

What evidence do you have that more effort and resources from this dev would result in anything positive? They had ample amounts of time and funding and still fucked Halo up badly.
For all the morons defending this decision, I legitimately feel bad that you have no friends to play games with in person. I guarantee the reason many of us on this forum fell in love with gaming is due to in person coop games such as Mario kart Goldeneye and Halo. Halo 1-3 couch coop was one of the best gaming experiences of my life so fuck anyone who says they don’t care.

It's not like I'm just throwing dot points out there. I'm not able to couch coop Halo with my wife, son or daughter. So they expect me to own 4 xboxes, 4 TVs and then deal with online latency for a game that has traditionally had couch coop and was promised by studio heads a number of times during development. My son and daughter have friends stay over and when they chill from a day's activity at night they want to game or watch movies together. So fuck expanding your audience with an Xbox kids getting other kids to love Halo through a couch session right?

Pretty straight forward from the video. They did the math with their likely dwindling studio resources actually focused on Infinite sustain and wrote off couch coop as they get more gains elsewhere and it's technically a too hard basket due to shit planning and project management up front during the dev lifecycle early on.
