On my end, I plan to spend a lot of time in the new and better Salmon Run which will now be active 24/7. Overall, Splatoon 3 still shines with its unique approach, but we expect Nintendo to deliver multiple free updates to keep us inked in.

It's gonna play very similar to 1 and 2, so it's not gonna hit anywhere near 90, but the first 2 games are still unique and fun to play, and this looks just as good.

Seems like fair scores. It is very similar to the previous games. But I'm pumped, and will be playing this non-stop for at least 2 years.

Maybe they'll do a larger graphical jump on the next system. I'd also like some Splatoon spin-offs. This will keep me happy until then.

Can't wait for the campaign and Salmon Run all weekend.

Should there be a deep dive as to whether Splatoon warranted releasing full-fledged sequels rather than just being a GaaS title? Each iteration doesn't appear to have added much to warrant a $60 price tag, IMO, but I'm also not steeped in content/mechanical additions.

Nothing wrong with refinement. Not everything needs to be new. Never understood this take. Especially for Splatoon, which is one of the more unique experiences in the industry...been 5 years since we got anything like it.

And there's plenty of non-Nintendo made sequels that bring nothing new and manage to score in the 8-9s, many of which release on a faster cadence.

Reviews are around what I expected, can't wait for more Splatoon and I plan on going pretty hard into ranked this go around. The testfire already sold me on the new weapon types and movement options, can't wait for Friday to start diving in.

You really missed out, both Splatoon 1 and 2's campaign are really solid, and 2's Octo expansion campaign is really, really good, and actually quite challenging. Definitely don't sleep on these game's single player offerings!

Speaking of selling well in Japan, you can get a digital code from the Japan amazon and save a few dollars. All you have to do is change the region on your account.nintendo.com and apply the code, then blamo, done.

i loved Splatoon 1. I bought 2...and it never hooked me. I barely played it. Felt too much like playing the first one.

I really thought Splatoon would be Bigger by now. just in scope.

First game was fun, but 2 just seemed like a DLC. Way too similar, wore thin very fast. Haven't looked into this at all for that reason, no interest in playing the same game again with a few new weapons and arenas.

Oh, my shitty Canadian BMO World Mastercard worked perfectly. BMO is the worst in Canada, so I figured most all places wouldn't have any issues.

Sorry to hear that your card didn't work.

the singleplay seems to be expanded compared to Splatoon 2, so I actually might get it eventually.

I still refuse to pay Nintendo money for their ridiculously shitty online service, so no Multiplayer for me

Has anyone reviewed Salmon Run? I scoured the Eurogamer review and couldn't find a single mention.

Really enjoying it. Polished to the point of perfection.

Would have liked the single player to be a little more adventurous. On the third island and it’s more of the same. Thankfully, that ‘same’ is excellent.
