This industry is toast. Looking at footage from crysis warhead in that other thread earlier just confirmed everything I already knew. The western AAA/AA development scene is mostly full of unambitious hacks who are only concerned with chasing money. Zero innovation, zero creativity. Everyone blames the publishers but its the devs who are supposed to inject creativity and ambition into their games and they have all been asleep at the wheel. the best damn console hardware ever created and they are tying themselves to last gen hardware, last gen design, hell fucking last gen character models? Shouldnt you at least try and make character models look BETTER than HFW? Of course not, its a copy pasta and who wants to put in actual work to make it look next gen. Worked for TLOU. This is what happens when you curb lazy devs rhethoric on big forums, twitter and reddit. Nah devs CAN be lazy. The mod is a moron, TLOU Pt 1 was a remake, anyone calling it a remaster is a fool. Zero Dawn is a much better game than Forbidden West, it may not look as good (though it still holds up) but the story is 100x better than the one we got in Forbidden west and Aloy wasn't as boring.

The same reason ND remade TLOU. They had nothing to work on after shipping TLOU2. Their bosses didnt have a new game lined up. Neil had a tv show lined up though. So the team figured we would just do a quick asset flip and bring TLOU over to the TLOU2 engine. Notice how the leak says the same thing about Horizon 1. THey arent saying they will remake it to next gen standards, but HFW standards which itself is a last gen game. There is no redesign here. THey are going to take the same character models, lighting and gameplay upgrades from Part 2 and put them in the older game. Thats it. No matrix quality visuals. No nanite. Just the same game they made now ported over to a different game. Very little actual work aside from rebuilding whatever assets they cant port over.

TLOU1 remake is great and I'm glad they did it, the remaster looked dated years ago. Horizon is another story, yeah it doesn't look as good as forbidden west but it still holds up pretty well. Maybe it's just something they want attached to the MP game? If they do try to sell that remake for $70 they won't find anywhere near as many people defending them as they did TLOUp1
