60€ here in Europe for a 6 year old game...

fuck off GIF
Better than 99% of modern games tho.

Especially cause it’s not giving us all the options for settings literally where is the option to uncap the framerate to 120 when using vrr on ps5 and series x this shouldn’t be an unreasonable request considering they are asking for 60 bucks
You’re speaking my language. Frankly I think any game on ps5 or series x currently locked at 60fps should offer an uncapped mode. So much extra performance locked away for no reason.

Truly great game. Glad more folks are getting the chance to play it.
I bet a lot of new players were utterly stunned with how amazing this games production level is, i.e. plentiful high quality cinematics, insane soundtrack, stellar voice cast (for the most part) etc.

Also the mature themes/subjects this game covers and the quality of the script is something most never saw coming as well.

Facts.

I need 1 and 2 being remade in the same style.

What's wrong with the map/guidance in this game?
I mean stuff like the pac-man minimap being almost-useless. When you start a part-time job it doesnt show on the map where that is. I bet a lot of folks wont even find where that job is located. You have to go into the menus and find the general address and then find that without a guidance there.

Finding the Ginza metro line at the beginning of the game with no guidance but running into every dead end and eliminate your options until you find it.

Inside the school at the beginning: oh you have be [there] now - but finding that location in the school is same as in the metro - try opening doors and walking down paths until youve eliminated every other option.

Ive spent a lot time being frustrated with that. Maybe it helps to read Japanese in the metro and it gives you the directions.

it warms my heart to see an "Overwhelmingly Positive" review on Steam. It's currently the highest rated game of all time for PC on Metacritic with a 97/9.3 score. #2 for Series X, #3 for PS4, #6 for Switch, and #11 across all platforms.

hopefully this makes Atlus rethink some things...
  • Bring Persona 3 FES over too. Portable is fine but I don't want to have to play it on my Playstation 2 or emulate it on PC.
  • Remake Persona 1 + 2 in the Persona 5/6 engine.
  • Don't make Persona 6 exclusive to Playstation. Or only make it a 12 month exclusive. I don't want to wait years for a PC/Xbox/Nintendo port.

When you apply for the job it tells you where it is. It's easy enough to find it on the world map... Your calendar also tells you the name of the place and when you can go to it.

As for metro, read the signs. You don't need to know japanese for the metro because it has it in english too.

and when you get to the school it tells you to go to 2F (second floor). The floor numbers are easily visible and you can't miss the stairs. they are to your left as soon as you go into the school.

and the Faculty Office is straight ahead as soon as you get to the second floor

and your classroom is marked clearly too on the map

Its not easy at all. The game doesnt explain any directions, knowing the address isnt enough. Where is [street name] and how do you get there?

Finding what floor to go to is not the problem, obviously. But where on the floor to go? What door hides the Faculty Office behind it? Who knows, why dont you try opening every door and see?

If you know, you know. Thats easy to say. But if you dont know and want to find out, the game doesnt help you at all.

I liked that. Felt like I just arrived at Tokyo and had no clue where to go.

The other cases you talk about, I dunno man, I don't remember having any navigation issues aside from the Ginza line segment at the start.

Again, it tells you where it's located. It'll say something like "Shibuya Central Street". So open your map and head to Shibuya.

As you approach the doors it'll come up with the name of the room. like TintoConCasera TintoConCasera posted above.

Like any game you need to become familiar with areas but it's really not difficult. Read descriptions, signs, and maps. Finding the faculty office is easy because it's literally right infront of you as soon as you get to the second floor. There are only 4 doors and 1 is blocked off. It'll either be the first or 2nd door you look at.

I didnt even see that small text under the Examine sign when I roamed around trying to find it first time.

It's perfectly visible. If you didn't see it then that's on you. I literally just took of my glasses and squinted at the image and there's no way you can miss it lol.

A small blinking dot on the map to indicate where it is would be a great help.

You also have to be right in front of the door to get that message up - so you need to visit every door and get that message until the right one pops up. I think youre so used to it that you expect everyone to know that that Faculty Office is right where it is.

I know it may sound frustrating on paper, but believe me this is one of those games where you will start remembering places like they were your own neighborhood once you're in a few hours :messenger_grinning_smiling:

I've not played Persona 5 in over 2 years. I couldn't remember where it was but it was easily enough to find on my current playthrough on Switch :)

Agreed.

Because of how small the game is, its easy to remember everything as its not a massive open world. Funny enough I'd like a bigger world with 2 cities in 1 title lol

I'm sure others already destroyed you in the posts above but it sounds like it's not a game problem, it's a you problem.

I only played for a couple of hours as it's not my kind of game but it's like this by design. You supposed to be immersed in the world. Ask for directions, look for directions. Learn the layout of the place. You know, just like in real life. What you want is a magical, diamond shaped golden waypoint floating like a turd on the screen to tell you where to go next. Luckily for you, there are plenty of games that do that.

I’ll try the PS5 version once it inevitably hits the sub service - likely to be when the deal with MS (lol) runs its course. No way am I paying full dabs for a basic upgrade.
it's shit what they done on Playstation to be honest. If I had a PS5 i definitely wouldn't be paying for the PS5 version when I already have the PS4 one. All you're reallying paying for is the performance/graphics boost.

They should have made it free to all PS4 owners. Even if it was a $10 fee to upgrade then that would be reasonable I think. Asking for $60 is stupid.

And faster SSD loading?

Loading times on Series X is not much more than a second. 1-2 seconds tops.

P3FES is never coming unless they completely remake the entire game...though I'd also like to see the first 3 Persona games get some remake love. We also hear some news of SMT5 getting ported to other platforms eventually as well.

Yep, traveling in and out of places in 2~ seconds is fantastic for a game like this where you want to explore the locations each calendar day to see whose doing what.

Also, love the network functionality which tells you what other players did on any given calendar day. It's always interesting to see that some % of other players were trying to hook up with the teacher while you're knee deep in the mementos in an in-game day.

It’s 2 seconds more on switch. Therefore we have a longer playtime. Eat this! 😉

To be fair, you can follow the subway signs that say Ginza.

Yep. Granted it's not the highest quality texture but the text is still very easy to make out in the bar/signs in the subway walkway areas. They have English text on them to help you find the place.

That being said, it is also a process of elimination. The game doesn't let you go to the other lines if you're required to go to a specific one for story, so you're gonna find it in a minute or searching anyway.

It will get rereleased next generation for these specs.
It should be 8k 120 by that point. Mor e generally though i wish this game had the option to unlock up to 120 with a vrr display instead of the current 60 lock the series x and ps5 can clearly do way more than 60 so it’s garbage they restricted the feature to pc only

It especially sucks cause they took the time to make sure 120fps actually works on pc so why not give that same option on premium consoles I think it would make this 60$ rerelease package more enticing

Sorry for the bump but wanted to give my thoughts as a first time player. Being new to both the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises, this has been a really interesting one to play AFTER playing and loving SMT5. Right off the bat, from a pure combat standpoint, I enjoyed SMT5 significantly more. I’m really not feeling compelled to experiment too much with creating personas. For one, they’re locked to one character which really limits you, and part of the fun of SMT for me was seeing my demons in action, which was awesome! This game is much more party member focused, which is fine, but really makes all the beautiful character models seem wasted.(although I guess you can say they’re recycled in SMT5 so it’s all good).

Im in November in the game now so getting closer to the end from what ive read. The social stuff was really fun for me early on but definately starts to drag and feel more like checking boxes than real character development as the game goes on and new characters open up.

Overall I’m really enjoying the game and I’d definately agree it’s probably one of the best rpgs of the last decade, but I don’t think I’d put it in my all time list. As I said the social stuff can be fun and really differentiates it from other JRPGs, but as a 36 year old with not as much free time as I used to, this aspect of the game will make It really hard for me to replay it….I think SMT5 will be more memorable to me long term as it tends to stick closer to what made me love JRPG s in the first place.

I really wanted to like this game, but it's yet another "death by a thousand cut-scenes" type of experience.

That teacher tho… and the nurse! Horny jail game.

Is this you implying that you have to be smart to appreciate this game’s dumb, repetitive writing? More doesn’t necessarily mean better.

No. It means the comment was dumb af. Its a 100+hour game. Ofc theres going to be hours of "cutscenes". Its a fucking RPG. That does not mean its just cutscenes. Not even close.

….god, this is like talking to a Kingdom Hearts fan. Their comment implied that it has too many (useless) cutscenes. And it does. A prevalent criticism of Persona 5 is that it has way too many useless filler/fluff bits of dialogue. The comment didn’t say that the game is “just cutscenes.” I really hate when JRPG fans have this defense for their games with bad writing and bloated cutscenes like Trails and KH.

It did not imply that. Defending a dumbass post is dumb. All games have useless cutscenes but I dont see anything useless, its just a bunch of teenagers enjoying their life, ofc its going to be well, you know, teens wasting time besides combat. You literally just made up shit that user did not say lmfao just to attack "jrpg fans" which btw, I'm not, with P5 prolly being the only jrpg that I liked in my entire existence, maybe Like a Dragon as well but that is it.
