Crossplay really should be split down the middle between controller players and mouse players, mouse players shouldn't play with controller players.

So this doesn't exclude PC players because you can play with controller on PC. But I was playing the new COD MW 2 and it dawned on me that mouse players really shouldn't be playing against controller players. Again this doesn't exclude PC players, but crossplay should be divided up into two groups, one group for controller players only and the other for mouse players. It's just here I am playing on a controller and I'm fighting against dudes playing with a mouse and keyboard, this is hardly fair. Mouse players should play against other mouse players and controller players against other controller players, this is how crossplay should be set up.

I run into PC KBM players all the time when I am on the Series X

Only when it can’t fill a game with controller players. I’ve been playing with a controller on PC and it matches me with console players 95% of the time. If you’re saying it’s a mouse player because you see the steam logo next to their name they’re probably on controller. When you start the game on PC it makes you choose between m/k or controller and restart the game if you wanna switch.

Every game should handle the matter like Apex. As a console player, you will only see keyboard and mouse users if a friend on your team is using a keyboard and mouse.
I didn't know Apex does that, and I agree with you. Seriously mouse players have no business playing with controller players!!!

Wasn't Xbox supposed to release a mouse as a gaming option for Xbox games?
Like I f*cking said!!!! It doesn't matter if you play on Xbox or PC, if you use a mouse you should not be allowed to play with controller players!!!! PC players can use a controller too so this doesn't exclude PC players. No one gets excluded, it's just mouse players should not be playing against controller players period end of story.

You obviously aren't playing the new COD MW2 because if someone is using a mouse you'll literally see a mouse icon next to their name, or a controller icon of they're on controller. And it got me thinking, why the fuck are mouse players playing against controller players, this is f*cking stupid.

Please stop with these misleading threads. Aim Assist is so overpowered in this game that it’s a fucking crime.

If you want fairness you should be asking for Aim Assist to catch a nerf.

They won’t split lobbies, too many benefits unifying platforms.

What you guys fail to realize is that we are finally putting up CLOSE to equal stats.

Why do PC players (KBM specifically) think they should dominate every match? Aim Assist should be high to equal the field.

I play with a group of 4. 2 PC KBM, 2 Console Controller. The 1 KBM before the match starts in Cold War is able to move his mouse so fast his players moves at such a speed it looks like a glitch. If I max sensitivity and hold the stick all the way, we can’t even get close.

I agree with OP 100%. Separate KBM and controller.

Btw, as someone who played the MW2 beta on console and the full game routinely now on console, IMO they did nerf the AA somewhere in a hot patch a week after launch. I noticed the locking has fallen off for sure at least to some degree.

Could be just my mind, but I don’t think so as the other console player in my group said the same thing.

if you are on Controller and you lose against mouse players in CoD, I'm sorry to tell you, but you just suck...

Controller in CoD is overpowered as fuck. the low TTK paired with the strong aim assist make controllers ridiculously strong in this game.

it's not quite as ridiculous as in Halo Infinite, where mouse players basically have no chance atm. but it's worse than in Apex, where controller is so powerful that 90% or so of the top 25 players are on controller, and roughly 80% of pro players switched to controller.

it's so fucking weird reading sentiments like these over and over again.

if controllers had no aim assist you might have a point, but your option here is quite literally the polar opposite of what PC/Mouse players say. THEY want to segregate controller from mouse because they are trired of getting fried by controller players with aim assist

with max sensitivity in Cold War you can do a 180° turn in what feels about 100ms
if you need anything faster than that I don't for what exactly...

It doesn't work like that, or it's bugged. I play on KBM and controller. When on controller I prefer enemies on controller, yet get put in matches with KBM players. You clearly see a mouse logo to indicate they're using KBM.

While I agree we need a console only option. I'm not sure why they make it complicated for Xbox players even though I hear there are workarounds in main console settings.

Oh boy let's have a look at some actual stats which where fortunately gathered from a public database thanks to Halo inifinite

Hmm yes I see, very linear... I'm wondering if they turned it down a bit though if the stats would start to line up more, just saying.

Its game to game of course but getting salty at M+K on Modern Warfare and Halo Infinite is just looooooooooool. Certainly seems to be a recent trend on over compensating with the aim assist.

Unless you play without that pathetic semi aim-bot aim assist on controller, you should not complain.

100% agree with this, dont think its fair pc vs controller when aim assist is enabled yet dont agree when aim assist is disabled, purely the reason why ive stopped playing OW2 all together, it makes no sense me using my thumb vs someone who uses there whole arm, also apex is only controller vs controller if your playing ranked every other mode a pc player can join again i have no issues with this

Same shit every time:
Bad console players = "It's not fair I'm playing with keyboard and mouse users"
Bad PC players = "It's not fair I'm playing with auto aim users"
Even if the results would actually be on average equal it is by definition not fair.

Someone running the 100m dash on a proper track against someone else who is doing the 100m uphill, on a dune, but pulled by an electric winch or whatever, both might end up with 12s times, but they clearly did not compete in the same thing. There would be no point calling it a 100m race between them.

Isn't that an essential part of any sport and fair competition? that all play with the same rules and means? Records in running are only valid if the wind is within a certain value. And only a few sports not only allow but are based on a deviation of that, eg F1 and its constructors competition which makes the driver competition actually just weird and kind of meaningless.

Rubberbanding in racing games for couch coop, okay, to even the game out and make it challenging for the better player, and winable for the weaker player, since it would be immediately boring otherwise, but online you should be matched with fair competition where there is choice among a bunch of (ranked) people and you are not up against your much younger sibling or spending some time with granny or something.

Aim assist potentially outweighing m+k accuracy and turn speed and then thrown together... no thanks, I am average at best in either but I don't want to feel like I play against players that have an advantage, imagined or not, so either conclusion should be avoided until player count really requires to form one pot.

I agree with you mostly. I do like crossplay because I play with friends from both sides but yeah your right competition wise it's like you are competing in two different events.

My comment was more how you have both camps complaining that the other side has the advantage. I'm fairly average and I get beat and also destroy both sides.
A good matchmaking system should sort that out and should maybe be the real argument.

Remember when Crossplay between console and PC was first announced? I remember how Call of Duty announced that crossplay would be input based, and then it just wasn't? Like at all? I sure do.

And rotational aim assist is even stronger especially close range like this video but sniping KBM is still king

Fortnite tried it as well MM 100% input based but these companies have realized it divided the player base even further

it was in the sense that it tries to pair controller with controller and mouse with mouse.
the issue being that Mouse players are by far the minority in CoD, and so there weren't enough players to properly separate them.
so Mouse players got put into controller lobbies because there weren't enough mouse players.

the same is happening in Halo MCC since the day it launched on PC.
in that game you even have to specifically tell the game which input method you want to use and you can only switch it back and forth in the main menu... but noone plays on mouse so mouse players need to be paired with controller players so that they find lobbies.

some mouse players of course hate that a lot, and the biggest drama are console players in Apex Legends that get into PC lobbies (which happens when you go into a party with a PC player) because not only are they on controller with aim assist, but console aim assist is stronger than PC aim assist (dev reason is the framerate on console)
PC Apex players get livid at that topic 🤣

They're one in the same really
especially when you consider DSP and LTG
"stop using wakeup combos"
"stop using meta characters"
"stop with the flowcharts"
the only difference is that FPS players are just 1000x more toxic. you headshot a 13 year old and all of a sudden you're getting a detailed summary of his experience with your mom last night

Yeah its unfair to M/KB players.
The AimAssist in MW2 is insanely powerful.
Hell on PC I play with on controller cuz with a Canted Laser the game basically plays itself.

Wait arent you that guy who is against celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month?

Edit: Yup its that guy who wants to celebrate White People Month.

This is how I wish it worked in Hell Let Loose.

I've been playing the game on PC with a controller since it launched in Beta. So naturally I have friends that play it on PC. I also have no problem competing with enemies using a mouse because this isn't a twitch shooter.

I mainly play the game on PS5 now and use cross-play because I also have Xbox friends.

But it pisses me off that I have to choose one or the other. I should be able to manually opt in to play with PC players.
