Art style and effects feels like they're just trying too hard. Thankfully you can turn the effects off so I just hope the actual gameplay is good, if it is I'll get this and ignore the art style of the characters.

Not a fan of racing anymore but this actually looks good.
Thank god they moved from realistic looking character that were extremely cringe. This is the accurate vibe for an arcade racing game and heavily modified cars fits the aesthetics.

Honestly the base game looks fun. I'll probably be an old man about it and turn off the stylistic effects after its novelty wears off (probably rather quickly).

Actually really excited about this nfs. It's giving some real underground vibes.

Wasn't a fan of the effects at first, but they have grown on me.

Yeah, not for me at all

Good for them for trying to do something different. But to me, it wasn't a good change.

Hate the characters looking so out of place compared to the realistic background. Makes it look cheap somehow.

City also looks so lifeless. I'm replaying Burnout Paradise, and I swear that it looks more busy than this.

I like it, I hope the driving model will be better, that's why I haven't played last games of NFS that much. Keep it like NFS 2016 and I will play probably shit out of this.

I love the artstyle if I may add, hope for some early punk rock 2000s radio in game.

I'm always on the lookout for a new arcade racer and this doesn't look half bad. As long as the inevitable shitty rap/hip-hop soundtrack and fashionably 'diverse' characters aren't too in your face I might be interested.

bring back Burnout please :( i'm tired of need for speed...
EA are fucking stupid buddy. They wouldn’t know good if it sat on their face and wriggled.

Even if they did bring Burnout back (which they won’t because they think Criterion are better off in Battlefield), you can bet it’ll be a mess of a game.

im gonna say I like the hyper-stylized overlay on top of 3D. it also obvious( maybe only to a keen eye) that the street / urban (don't be shy to say) hand draw effects are "testing the waters" as a AR like overlay.

The Criterion that made the original beloved Burnout games is long gone. They've either gone on to Three Fields or some other places. Sometimes a studio is just a name, and the people behind them gradually change over time until both the teams and their product is unrecognizable. It's the same thing with Bioware, or Volition. Once beloved devs that made classic games, now souless husks of their former selves. Studios only maintain brand ID when there's an iron grip from the leadership and top creatives.

Criterion now is just Ghost Games rebranded, and Ghost Games was Criterion rebranded when EA divided the studio.
Special effects aside (which you can turn off) this is looking like a return to form. Watch in 4K.

Somehow it's not stylish enough? Needs like lap time and other HUD overlays floating on the walls of buildings as you pass by, or some more colorful elements in the world. Right now the drab world is kinda clashing with the graffiti bits.

It looks like more of the same with regards to the car physics, I'll be disabling the visual effects but some of them look great

A Fucking Idiot
I will continue with my boycott of any racing game that has rubber band A.I. Sadly Need for Speed is the second worst offender next to Mario Kart for that.

Return to form to what? NFS Heat?? Boring ass city with wide roads. A return to form would be racing through Yellowstone park or driving down some windy road in the desert.

This looks horrible and the opposite of what a NFS title should look like.

Fuck I was excited too. Wont even do the $15 for EA Play Pro to play it.

I actually find the art style interesting, it's something different. But the physics and AI look like straight from hell. If your most essential gameplay element looks like it was taken from a freemium mobile game, then something is going wrong with a franchise. Well, I'm off to play Forza Horizon.

Not going to lie im interested in this. First NFS on new consoles. First to have 60 fps on console. The effects look cool and thankfully can be turned off if they gey obnoxious. The graphics look nice. However im worried about the physics.

It'll take the fans to set that right, like an indie title maybe...because if you think EA are going to bring burnout back there is no chance of that happening.....good job you can still play one of the greats on the Xbox Series X all the way from 2005!

After the Remaster of Hot Pursuit in 2020, I was actually really hoping for a Remaster of Most Wanted (2012). I'm hoping this is at least as good as that one, regardless of visual style.

My last NFS was Most Wanted and this looks kind of fun again. But still EA - so no buy for me. Maybe a used copy in some weeks.

Looks like Heat 2 but that's just me. You can't excuse them for trying something new.

What are they trying new? You said it yourself, looks like Heat 2. Heat was trash.

Forza Horizon open world clones are tired and boring. Atleast FH offers different biomes. This looks like you drive around a city and...maybe a few roads to drift on outside of city limits? Just looks uninspiring.

This is the longest development cycle any NFS game has had since the original NFS (1994) and NFS 2 (1997), and this is the shit they put out.

EA, do what you do best, delete Ghost Games and Criterion.

EA is really going to let Criterion murder the WRC license with the next Dirt Rally.
