Some matches can be very demoralizing
I now know how my team mates in ranked feel, when I have taken a break from halo, return to the game and go 5-11 or something 🤣

Tbh, that hasn't really happened since they've added the ability to have good ping or whatever in the settings, but when I was getting games at 100+ prior to the update, I'd have some truly awful depressing game 😭

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Yeah give the drifting joycons to your friends huh
Guess what, I posted that on the wrong thread. :goog_relieved:

But nah, that minigame is about pressing buttons in order as fast as you can. Thing is I developed a technique which always left me on top, no contest. :messenger_sunglasses:

I'm enjoying Code Vein quite a bit right now. Bought it because of the Souls elements for the most part, but it's pretty fun and a lot easier to play than those games. I really like the character customization especially, it's pretty deep.

Art style is quite dope too.

Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is so good. Did not expect it to be of this high quality. It's so fun to play. Fast paced, vibrant worlds, zipping through dimensions with zero load times amazing graphics, plethora of new weapons and an innovative use of Dualsense. Rivet is such a good addition too. Rift Apart gives off that feeling of a true next gen game, doing things that wasn't possible before on previous hardware. Like when you played Super Mario 64 for the first time. It makes me feel like a kid again.

I'm 5 hours in

I'm still on What would be consider Disc 1. All characters are at level 8

I was at Hoax and I Defeated those solders. And a Dragoon Lady came and saved me and I got the Dragoon powers. Now I'm in a forest Marshland heading to this volcano area

That’s an awesome arc that began in Bale (killer town music too), despite it being so early in the game. Have fun with it!

Returnal

Honestly, I wish I'd picked it up day one. Good gameplay loop, fun combat, has cool design, and the right kind of challenging and mystery along the way.

I hear this. It took me PS Extra to give it a try. I really hate roguelikes but Returnal and Hades got things right. The gameplay of Return is sublime, can’t think of a better TPS. Vanquish is the only other in its league.

What time is it?
I've been replaying Spec Ops the Line. I've watched some video essays theorizing the mediocre game play was the developers intent to help reinforce the story elements which I reject out of hand. It really feels like those people are trying to bolster the cult status of the game by trying to make it something it is not. We know the game was the game was in development hell and at one point had a much larger emphasis on player choice and the end result just feels like a bog standard take on what was popular in that time frame (cover shooters). It's also a really ugly game. Lastly, I wish Nolan North wasn't in the game. I just find his "everyman voice" a tad distracting. I'm not sure I'll finish the replay.

I think a much better example of deliberate game play that isn't necessarily fun is Scorn.

Second game of the year done, definitely spent too much time on crisis core for the quality of the game.

Got some time until the 19th so may bounce around

Wrapped up Elden Ring yesterday but spent this morning tying up loose ends. I think I am going to go for a 2nd playthrough. Not sure yet what build I will go for. I'm leaning toward magic.
Do it! That’s what I did too. Magic is fun in a whole other way compared to melee which was my 1st. It’s easier for the most part, too easy at times, but it plays so different that I enjoyed it almost as much as my first playthrough.
Journey 2 was boring though, no challenge at all. Ended it 3/4 through and started over with another melee (lighter this time).

I am leaning toward the Pyromancer build recommended by fextralife. It's 100% magic which is appealing as I've never done that in a FromSoft game.

Been on a Boomer Shooter kick.

Beat Ion Fury, Dusk, and almost done with Cultic. Then on to Amid Evil.

I absolutely love these games. Love the 8-10 hour playtimes, the secrets, the satisfying guns, the level design, etc.

I wanted another game to co-play with Blasphemous so I tried The Medium. The gameplay didn't look for me, but a lot of people recommended it whose opinions I respect. An hour in, and I hate it. I'm fine with story driven games, I've played many. Gone Home, Life is Strange, etc. But the pace and slow plodding nature of this game feels like if you took a Resident Evil game and took out all the survival horror, inventory management, and action, and you just slooowly walk around and examine things for the entire game. Unless the gameplay completely changes this one isn't going to be for me at all.

That’s a cool build! Now I want to try that too. Seems fairly advanced though and you need to do NG+ which in my experience is too easy. But maybe I was overpowered from the previous run idk

I went with a straight Astrologer build, focus on gravity spells with Rock Sling as my main weapon, combined with Meteorite Staff and Comet and later on some crazy spells that would sink almost anything. It was fun even replaying previously annoying boss fights because it was so different, played nothing like melee. I still had a fairly bulky armour though so I could take a punch.

My current light wretch is my first fast build with swift rolls, it too feels kinda new again. There are so many build variations you can do. One of the reasons I love it so much.

Decided to make a pure strength build in PS4 version of Elden Ring on PS5. I've already got the plat on the PS5 version so this gives me an excuse for another playthrough to try and get the platinum again 😁

Just finished up Guardians of the Galaxy courtesy of PS+ Extra.

It was fun but repetitive.

Now I need something on the shorter side to complete before I sink into Dead Space Remake on PS5.

I recently bought Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on PS5. This is the PSP game, on an emulator basically. With some extra features thrown in like screen sizing and quick saving and loading. Battles are more smooth this time around. It's honestly a lazy ass port but the game is still good.

Still playing Tactics Ogre. I could beat the game right now but for some reason I chose to attempt the Palace of the Dead, a 100 floor optional dungeon. Each battle takes me roughly 15 minutes, meaning beating this will take something like 20 hours. I'm on floor 26. Fire Emblem comes out in 8 days.

Pray for me.
I'm on the lawful route on PC/PS5 (Chapters 2 and 3) and Chaos (Chapter 2) on Switch.

Definitely finish it. In the event the DLC is good and if they ever make a sequel. You do feel like it’s wrapping up the experience at the very end.

How does it feel playing AC:R again? I finished Brotherhood and Revelations back when they came out on 360/PS3. I remember enjoying Revelations, especially towards the end. Best part I remember was how they let you do some management of your gear aesthetics and upgrades.
Honestly, a great game imo. I'm not far into it yet but it seems more atmospheric than both previous games. I'm doing an AC marathon excluding the first game as it's not available on PS4/5

Was just playing hard drivin' on lynx. It's unplayable lol. I put itin every once in awhile.

I can handle steel talons on here but I don think drivin' is quite getting to 2fps. The ge was never easy to play even at its best.

Before that, it was pinball jam. Good lord that is hideous to look at and the design of the table is bad.

Ahhhh, lynx. You are so delightfully crappy.

Finished Ghost of Tsushima's DLC. Again, very much enjoyed it.

Now playing The Outer Worlds. It's ... good? Sadly, it does feel a bit like a poor man's Fallout. Happy to keep playing it, though. One thing that's annoying the hell out of me is that overlay in the inventory screen that covers up the item view, so you can no longer see things at a glance. Whoever came up with that idea needs to be given a stern talking to. Uh.

I’ve just finished the Witcher 3 base game. I wanted to finish all of it before I have to start studying hard for some exams, but alas, with Elden Ring requiring at least an hour a night of my time, I failed.

I just had a quick go on Hearts of Stone and the random points of interest and even the combat is so much more fun.

Sadly I won’t be able to get stuck in properly until mid-March. Tonight is the last time I have a clear four-five hour window for gaming.

Once this exam is out of the way I’ll do both expansions, finish off Cyberpunk and then hoepfullly the Elden Ring DLC will be out by then.

With Armoured Core maybe coming out that’s pretty much all I need for 2023. Nothing else interests me really.

Mega Man 11.

Never been a fan of the 8-bit games, they're just too damn unforgiving. This is excellent though, the stages are pretty simple but have old-school charm without the mental old school difficulty. Boss fights are pretty messy first time round but once you gain new abilities they're a blast. Really liking this, its short and sweet l, the gear system is cool and replayability is high. And it's such a pretty looking game too, great start to 2023.
