He went too far with his Newspaper piece. The hate for Megan (or Harry) is real (justified or not), so I think most found to be a slightly distasteful or amusing GoT reference.
Naturally, there was a wokey over-reaction to it and cancel culture kicked in. even though most cancelling him must've cancelled him years ago for other comments he's made. I did suspect Amazon would want to distance themselves from him as a result.

The only things I know from them is from memes. What I gather is:
People dislike Meghan because she is annoying, has a holier than thou attitude, likes being the center of attention but then whines about it and Harry is simping for her
Anyway, Harry and Megan like to whine and play victim
They left the Royal family claiming it was mainly because of the stress they were getting from the media and saying they wanted to be more independed

This is fairly accurate. To provide a bit more info.... Meghan is basically an Amber Heard/Angenlina Jolie type narcissist. Harry has PTSD from his mom's death and his subsequent tours as a chopper gunner in Afghanistan. She thought she was going to be a princess and have servants at her disposal but what she didnt realize that modern day royals are public servants themselves who have to constantly attend stupid ceremonies and make appearances as part of their job. They also dont treat the palace staff with disdain which she tried to do. Ive read all the big bombshells from the book, and the biggest issue between the two brothers and their wives was when his brother called his wife rude and abrasive over an innocuous joke she made to a pregnant Kate. Thats it. Thats why they split the family. They are a bunch of spoiled millennials who did not want to go attend these events they are obligated to attend, and used that 'fight' as an excuse to leave. Harry I can excuse because from the memoirs and interviews he seems like hes still not gotten over his mom's public death and shes exploiting his PTSD, but Meghan is just such a unsympathetic figure that its impossible to side with her. It's not that at all. He was sacked from the BBC after he punched a producer for Top Gear because his dinner was cold. Then he goes on a mental rant about a former royal - and she should be paraded naked through the streets while people threw shit at her (which is a pretty weird fantasy).
Brands don't want to work with these people. Jeremy Clarkson can 'criticise a noble woman' all he likes, but he just can't expect a platform for it, supported by billion dollar companies who are thinking "Jesus Christ that's fucked up, and it looks like we are endorsing the crazed wet dreams of a nutter"

Technically he didn't attack the Royal Family, but attacked Megan and Harry, who have sort of broken away from the Royal Family. They shit on the Royal Family and decided to move the US for "privacy", but still attend Royal events (the recent Jubilee in June for example) and keep hold of their Royal titles.
This has divided the UK into two camps. There are those who support Harry and Megan, who are a majority anti-Royal and want to see the UK become a republic, and those who dislike Harry and Megan and are Royalist. Team Harry and Megan are far more vocal on social media. Anybody who attacks Megan and Harry is deemed a fascist, racist misogynist etc.
That is where Clarkson went wrong. He (tried) to make a joke about the wrong side, and now his career is finished.

I don't think that was satire at all. He hated her, wrote something in a fit of anger, put his foot in his mouth, regretted it and then apologised for it(which he lays out in his apology and was obvious in his rant about her). It happens. I don't know about 'redemption' here, a company is just pulling a contract, not laying out the basket while raising the guillotine. He fucked up, but he'll live and be fine. He's a multimillionaire last I checked, and will still be after this.

When he punched a producer, it didn't came out of nowhere. Clackson's mother had died some time ago, and that had taken a big toll on him.
And in that day, the team had a grueling long and cold day.
This doesn't excuse what he did, but he never did it out of cruelty.
Remember that when Clarkson was fired, millions petitioned the BBC not to do it. Even the UK Prime Minister signed it.
And when Clarkson left the BBC, a lot of the team left with him out of loyalty and friendship.
And so what if he said nasty things about Meghan Markle. Is she some kind of endangered species? She is not.
She never did anything worthwhile in her life, expect marrying a prince.
The reality is that she managed to make herself look like an eternal victim of racism, so now every white knight wants to defend her honor.
