Neogaf GOTY 2022 |OT| Results thread

Ultimately I do think the Elden Ring and God of War nominations for most of those categories are justified. But if you then want to complain about The Game Awards or something you’re a fucking hypocrite. The GOTY nominees are just about the same.

I mean they both are masterclass in terms of music and audio
I've said it before, HFW's sound design get's overshadowed by its top tier graphics.

Highly underrated all the mechanical and synthy sounds, especially the music changes when it battle with machines and the synth samples thrown in it. Some of the best battle music I've heard in a game.

One more day...this is exciting. Sad to signalis miss most of the awards, but I'm rooting heavy for High on life and vamp survivor in their categories outside of GOTY. Would have liked to see immortality instead of HFW... but that game was very niche in a public voting system.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Who buys these games and not play them? How the absolute fuck?

I got a PS5 physical copy of Horizon Forbidden West from Gamefly for like $25 over black friday, and haven't got around to starting it yet. So... I guess I'm part of the problem.

Oh elden ring deserves a sequel? Lol you think FROM is just going to let the IP die even though there's been critical acclaim and gangbusters sales?! Y'all suck who voted for this.

I'd love to hear an explanation on that one
Some games offer a ton of content with not a lot of filler, providing good value for the money. Some games are brief but budget priced or included with a subscription, allowing you to experience them without overstaying their welcome. Some games only take a little while to sit down and play each time, but have a surprising amount of replay value. All of these respect the player's time in their own way.

I think it was supposed to mean it doesn't waste your time with filler or grinding. There is a best value category. Oh well
